Bought the iPhone at Apple Store, paying Full price ($1149 for the 256GB Sprint).

But guess what, it is Locked to Sprint. After 1 hour with Sprint (over the phone), I was told that I have to activate it on Sprint and wait for 50-days to have it unlocked.

I am going back to Apple store to find out if it can be unlocked; if not, I will just return it.
Why cannot you wait 50 days ?

I use the hotspot for my Android head unit. I don't use the phone at all.

See wiki for SIM info -- if you need it now then Boost Mobile triple SIM kit from BB (Target might sell it as well)

You want 506C or 446C: https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card
Thanks and rep. I can see my local BB has it in stock, I will pick it up as soon as they open.

yes, see Wiki, page 1
Excuse my ignorance but what's this wiki page? The first page of this thread?

also I just paid for service for my T-Mobile line so I don't want to give my month up for the port. If I port with a GV number can I port a second number to replace the GV or can you only port a number once?

Any good deals on phones that will work? Seriously thinking about porting my phone number over for this promotion. It'd save me $500 - then I'd likely just cancel and switch back to a different provider, depending on their plans...

First page under the first post -- look for "Community Wiki" section

Don't think you'll be able to port another line on top of existing service -- you can just wait until later this month to sign up if you want

IIRC, Viber is somewhat tied/registered to the phone number. Did you change phone number ?

Is there a difference between Sprint and unlocked Iphone X models besides 50 days service requirement? Will factory unlocked come with more LTE bands?

Called in for porting number from google and with moto G4. Already had universal sprint sim card. Rep said that sim does not work with moto g4. Went to sprint store and rep denied to sell me without sprint number . Anyone know where to get motoG4 sprint sim? any particular sim model number that works with moto G4?
When I ported my g4 the sim I ended using was too small and I had to get an adapter to make it fit. No clue why, I started with a handful of sims I got from sprint store and I went through them one by one with the sprint agent over the phone.

No difference(A1865). Even the att/tmobile version(A1901)has same LTE bands, but no CDMA bands so it will not work with sprint.

I wanted to get a discount on Iphone x when my upgrade will become available but my understanding is there is still a full price when upgrading through sprint plus potential to get plan messed up. If I order x from Apple, which option you guys recommend?
Quote from lstevens :
Reports are it works no matter how you buy it. But, here are the possibilities:

1) Buy outright;
2) Buy with Apple financing;
3) Buy with Apple "'upgrade" program

All 3 are reported to work. #3 carries "some" risk, because Apple wants to know your Sprint phone # and wants to do the activation for you. However, it's been reported (once) that you can do this and ask Apple NOT to do the activation when you pick it up, and then call in the phone IMEI yourself. So, I would advise if you go this route (Apple Upgrade Program) that you tell Apple NOT to activate when you pick it up. If they refuse, back out of the transaction, and do #1 or #2.
i am really confused with this.

what is the apple upgrade program?
is that when u trade in last years iphone for this years new iphone?
and u pay the difference?

@lstevens..u seem to have become the guru on this stuff..so please enlighten me

btw...#1 will not work since the original question was requesting a discount...which i assume u will not get by buying it outright
