Tried to add a line with a Google Voice number, but was told that it is not eligible. Their system may have changed.
Did you pay the $3 fee to unlock the google voice number in your GV settings? At the beginning of this thread, go to page 1 and search google voice CTL F the directions are there.

I was able to use a GV Number on a iPhone 6s.

Hope this helps

I have a credit check problem. I went to a direct corporate Sprint store with 2 family members to set up an account and PIN. Each of us separately failed the credit verification with 3 questions, and we were told we have to wait 60 days to apply again. Something is seriously wrong with the credit check system as we all have good credit.
I just had the same problem. I failed the credit check over the phone. Were you able to create an account and PIN in store and then call in to add a free byod line?

In order to buy the z2 , won't you have to sign up with Verizon , pay activation fee , etc ? And isn't only unlocked for the GSM carriers (TMO, ATT) ?
Normally you would, but I have 1 phone left on verizon, that is under 2 year contract from last BF ($1 iphone7). By buying a DPP Verizon phone from BB, I am wiping out the $350 ETF. They have a deal with VZW called Early Upgrade program (not even VZW offers it) that forgives ETF's.

Was just looking for a phone that wasn't useless as we are otherwise with Sprint now.

The Moto Z2 Play is on the list. VZW Iphones are on the list as well, but I don't like them.

IF I can get somebody local to buy a new vzw S8 this weekend, I will do that instead, and be ok with losing $50 or so vs. the $350 ETF.

If you created a paid Sprint account to get the Essential, no. You would need a relative or friend to open the free account with their SS#, and then port in will be no problem. Free plan is for new Sprint accounts only.
I just tried today and it worked. Cancelled the new paid account under my name used to get essential phone yesterday. Call in today to setup a new account with my SSN, make sure the account number is different, then port in two numbers from AT&T for the BYOD one year free promotion. It works.

Telesales is trying to give me one free LG tablet with only $10 for shipping and he confirms there is no monthly payment in the future. He said it's a promotion for new customer. I'm just afraid it's a trap so I did not accept. Anyone else get the tablet and what's the experience? Thanks.

There is a monthly $20 fee and it a rip-off. Nobody is taking that offer. I forget all the details but never pay any attention to what these sales droids say/ lie about If it were a good deal it would be written up here.

Chiming in with my experience. I got the sim a month ago but didn't try to activate until the 5th. I did the initial set up and everything seemed to go smoothly. I ported in from FreedomPop and immediately got a success email. It said i was good until 1/21/19 which is great. Anyways, it said to wait 10 minutes which was fine. The next day I called in to sprint to try to activate it or get it to work since I saw some users had problems until they called in. I was on the phone for about 20 minutes and they said that the problem was that I didn't set up autopay( do that on your own if you can ffr).

The next day it still wouldn't work so I called again. They asked me if the number was still active, which it wasn't because I ported it in from FP. So they kept telling me that I had to call them in order to reactivate the number so they could port it in. This went on for an hour and my fp account no longer listed the number I tried to port in and said my sim was ready to get a new number(since I ported out already). I tried to get them to change the number being ported in to the new one fp assigned to me but they said they couldn't do it.

I gave up and 10 days passed. Today I was trying to see if I could get in on the essential phone deal and instead of asking me to log in with the code from my email, it asked to send it to the phone I originally tried to port in. I checked the phone and lo and behold, the port in process FINALLY completed!

Long story short, if you're porting in from FP it is going to take a very long time. Don't waste your time, I already did that for you. Set up your auto pay, wait about 10 days or so, then you'll finally be ported in. I only get about .30mbps @ my current address in 93215, im sure it's better but it's fine for just the unlimited talk & text, we have 110mbps wifi. Sorry about the formatting and long comment. I just wanted to share my experience, this was with the Moto G5+ as well.
i ported from freedom pop it took a couple of hours

So, this is new/significant. I thought someone with an existing (paid) account could not create a free account with the same SS#!!!!

I got my sims a week ago. Did everything online and ordered 5 sims. Now at sprint.com/activatenow and enter my email and phone number. Excellent, all the imeis I entered and the associated phone numbers show up. I enter the iccids for each line and click continue but every single line gets an error saying "this phone is not eligible to be transferred to Sprint"
I'm coming from cricket and when I initially signed up and I entered my imeis it said all lines were eligible.
I then call 18667828777. They say I need to sign up for a new account and I need ANOTHER credit check. I'm suspicious so I say no thanks. Should I abandon Sprint? Has this happened to anyone else?
