Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The catch is that they are hoping you'll forget about leaving them in 12 months and start being a paid customer.

Sprint isn't the best carrier so this is one of the ways it can get customers. Most non-slickdealers are not willing to go above and beyond to save $$$

Pardon me for being skeptical. I have been eyeing this promo for quite some time. For the life of me I can't find the "catch." I'm currently on MetroPCS, they have 4 lines for $100 unlimited and they don't want to upgrade me. I was thinking of threatening to switch to this and see if that gets me somewhere. I'm a bit hesitant since I'm not sure how Sprint signal is in VA beach.

I'm sorry to post this question that I'm sure has been asked many times before in this thread, but I did try searching and who the hell can scan through 500 plus pages.

I am on t-mobile's simple choice plans with 4 lines....3 of them are iPhone 7's and the other is a moto e4 (spare line) that is verizon branded and that i had unlocked. I had decided to pay off what I owe on the iPhone 7's and do this Sprint deal, but all the phones I test are deemed "ineligible." If the iPhones 7's are paid off and t-mobile has sent me an unlock verification, shouldn't they work with sprint? what should I do? Thanks for your help.

If you bought the iPhone 7's from tmo, they have intel modem and only good for gsm networks. You need the ones with qualcomm modem with cdma and gsm radios. You get these at apple store, best buy, target, (they are the sim free models).

i am already 6 or 7 months in the free byod plan. if i port out my numbers and have another new social security number to use and port back in, i will have another fresh 12 months of free service from everybody's favorite carrier.... :-)
oh I see, thanks! Currently I have 1 line in the free byod plan, good until 7/31/18. If I'd like to keep the same number and same device, what would be the best way to get the free plan until 1/31/19...? And do you know when should this be done by? Thanks.

That Verizon Moto E4 is never going to work on Sprint, FYI. You can probably sell it and buy the unlocked version of the E4 and use it for the promo - which is exactly what I just did. (Hadn't planned to sell my Verizon E4 but made $25 selling it on Craigslist so not really a loss.). Or, get something like MintSIM ($15/month, unlimited talk/text, 2GB data, T-Mobile network) if you want a cheap spare line with the E4.

You may be able to get them to give you a Magic Box eventually to boost speeds at home. (They are backlogged for now though)

I did and it vastly increased speeds.

It retransmits on Band 41 only, therefore not supporting some other carrier iPhones or age-old iPhone users (only).
Quote from comintel :
I get 60 Mbps and completely stable using a Magic Box. But it will be different somewhere else.
Thanks, guys. I thought about your comments as I was out walking today...and when I looked up I was right in front of a Sprint store. Sure enough, I had full bars on Band 41, and my download speed was about 40Mbps.

Not surprisingly, they had one of those boxes in store. I walked in and asks about it - was told you need to call CS and they'll determine whether they think you need one. (I get 1-2 bars of Band 26 inside my house.) I guess I can try, though personally I don't really need one now. I do have family in another part of the country I'm considering getting another phone for, have them use the hotspot for full internet for a year on this promo, and if they have poor signal I'd sure want to get one for them...

if you want to see how you can extend your free byod plan you can go back a few pages and look for..... desi_babu_2010's outline of everything he did to extend his plan.

desi is a master technician who plans everything meticulously. he ported out of Sprint, to H20 Wireless and ported back to Sprint all during his family vacation to Vegas, and did all these while in the midst of a suspenseful poker game and at the same time baby sitting his lovely infant, feeding the baby while at the poker table and winning $20,000. :-)

i have both Sprint and the Metropcs 4 lines for $100. in my area (Chicago Burbs) both carrier's speed varies but i would say t mobile has much faster speeds. t mobile from 5-80mbps dload, sprint from 3 to 60mbps dload. both have decent coverage and good for my needs, music streaming, email, web browsing, text and call and occasional soft porn/beastiality. If i were you if you have an eligible phone, try sprint and see how it does for you. service is free with autopay, all you need to pay is taxes and fees, around $3-4 per line.

So 12 month is by account, not by individual line? I have acct from July 2017, if I add new line today, it will expire on 7/31? Not 1/19 if I add it to current acct?

Yes that is right. I think it's at least 12 months could be 13 months.
