Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sprint guy at Best Buy gave me the wrong SIM card for a iPad Pro 9.7. Same guy that gave me the right card for my iPhone a week ago.

The saga continues. I will try to get the right card today. iPad offer is over on 11th.
Ting lists the valid sim for the iPad Pro as SIMOLW416C or SIMOLW506TC

https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card

Apple stores give away Sprint sims free for Apple devices if you go the store personally (not confirmable on the phone ahead of time).

Yes, after you Port out, you can check the Sprint website to show when your number and device shows eligible. I ported out at night and called to add the lines the next morning but they will show eligible after 15 minutes or so. TMobile prepaid account number is the 10 digit telephone number with a 1 at the begining. (11 digits total) and you tell them what pin you want. I told them I was buying refill cards locally from a store.
Thanks for the information. Do we need to call T-mobile for PIN setup or can be done everything online if we have the sim card and port info? Also, I don't need to load any money into T mobile, right before porting out?

Where did you get the Sim cards from? From T-Mobile, eBay, Apple store, or somewhere else?

I have not done TMobile prepaid activation online, mine were all with agents who take your port info and ask what pin you want for your TMobile account. Funding your TMobile prepaid is not required to be able to port your number out. Most of my lines never worked on TMobile as I did not add any funds nor did I get the free 30 minutes because my SIM cards were from eBay

I am leaning towards porting at least 1-line (initially) to see how the service is. I have couple of questions for now, hopefully experts like desi_babu_2010/comintel/Genghis_Khan/macrokelvin/others can answer my questions so I can also get on this bandwagon Smilie

1. Is tethering/hotspot allowed on this plan without installing any special software on iPhones?

2. I am not sure if the line I am porting over is using iPhone 7 or 6S, if that makes any difference? I will check the phone when I reach home in the evening.

3. I am currently using above phone on Total Wireless (verizon MVNO), so I guess phone should be compatible with Sprint, correct?

4. What information, if any, do I need from Total Wireless to port this number over? Do I ask TW CSR for this info?

5. Comintel mentioned above that Apple stores give away Sprint sims free for Apple devices if you go the store personally. I will be at apple store tomorrow, what do I ask them? Do I need to ask for a specific type (model) of SIM?

6. Once I have this SIM, do I just call the number in wiki and go from there? How much time can I expect to be up & running?

7. And I guess I can always add more lines to this account later (if still offered for free)? I understand that this way I might not get full 12-months of free service on lines added at a later time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. Yes
2. Some iPhones do not qualify so it may matter in some cases
3. Not sure - I will leave this one for others
4. Yes ask Total for acct# and Portout pin
5. A Sprint sim for your particular model phone
6. No delay BUT Total can be troublesome as it is TracFone
7. Correct you can add more later

You get a 10gb hotspot

Account number and pin if you have one

Ask for a sprint sim for your iPhone 6s or 7

Took me 45 minutes to get it setup.
Make sure you mention the BYOD 1
Year free of unlimited talk text data.

As for service, sprint upgraded a lot of areas literally playing 5 year catchup to everyone else. My speed is 20-80gbps. When I go off the non popular areas, service is similar to vzw

Thanks for the reply. I will check iPhone on sprint's byod portal and see what it tells me.

I ported lines out to T-Mobile without swapping devices, and the numbers and devices were eligible in less than 30 min. On one account I ported out 2 of the lines and then signed up 30 minutes later with new ssn.

I'm now done, 9 lines on 2 accounts have been ported out and back in for the extra 6 months.

nice....

i am not sure why this tmobile method is so challenging for me..seems like it is as easy as pie for most everyone

i went to tm store to inquire about this, but the rep said i needed to pay for sim and fund etc.

need a step by step guide for $ 3 tm port for dummies.

me..i play safe..wait 1 day or 2...

if u do the tmobile plan..let me know exactly how u did it so i have info for future..if needed.

like i am not even sure ..where do u get free tm sim?

to add a line to an existing free byod account..it is best to call the number in wiki

So I'm not quite understanding the multiple line stuff.

I have a Sprint account (not the free 1 year version). I have another account, Verizon, with another phone number. I was told in this thread that I can't bring that phone to Sprint for the free 1 year stuff because I already have a Sprint account and I'm not a new user to Sprint.

So how is it that people are getting multiple free lines at Sprint? Once you bring one line in, you have a Sprint account and you're not a new user, right?

Either buy a new, unused, unactivated tmobile sim card from Ebay, (The seller I bought from was 3.50 but now 3.75, but something like item number 263416268342 would work) or get one from apple store possibly free. If you need your phones to work with talk or texting while with t-mobile you will need refill cards. When I got the sim cards, I just put the sim card in a phone and try making a call and it goes to T-mobile with voice prompts. (don't have one, new activation, Port my number, and new requests I think are the prompts I used. When you get to a live person, tell them your interested in bringing your number from sprint and activating T-mobile prepaid. (They may transfer you to t-mobile prepaid activated department). They asked what plan and I said the pay as you go plan, and when asked about payment I said I was getting refill cards locally after I was sure the number ported as refill cards are not returnable. ( I only did 2 numbers at a time)
