Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

did u use tm to port out all 9 of ur lines?

where did you get ur tm sims from? ebay? how much were they?

did u get port out info from tm at the same time u ported in?
I used tmoble for all 9 lines. Sim cards were from ebay. T-mobile account number is just your 10 digit phone number with a 1 infront. The pin is set up when you set up your account with porting your number and everything, the phone rep sets your pin that you give him. After having your number ported, you don't need to talk with t-mobile anymore.

The sim cards I ordered were item number 172630363387 but raised his prices from 3.50 to 3.75, but any new, unused t-mobile sim card will work and I see item number 322479566857 is basically the same and cheaper.

1. Yes
2. Some iPhones do not qualify so it may matter in some cases
3. Not sure - I will leave this one for others
4. Yes ask Total for acct# and Port password
5. A Sprint sim for your particular model phone
6. No delay BUT Total can be troublesome as it is TracFone
7. Correct you can add more later

u have been given fine answers to most of your questions.
i would add..

4. the port password is also called a port pin number (and of course account number)

7. currently the newly created byod lines are good till 1/31/19,,,so.....it is very likely that end of jan be the last date u can add a line to an existing byod..unless it is extended.

all depends on location...some areas Verizon is terrible and sprint/tm/att are better

So I'm not quite understanding the multiple line stuff.

I have a Sprint account (not the free 1 year version). I have another account, Verizon, with another phone number. I was told in this thread that I can't bring that phone to Sprint for the free 1 year stuff because I already have a Sprint account and I'm not a new user to Sprint.

So how is it that people are getting multiple free lines at Sprint? Once you bring one line in, you have a Sprint account and you're not a new user, right?
u need to use a different ss number...like a spouse, a relative , a close friend etc

there are many here that havd family plans...5 lines...9 lines etc...
just need a new name and a new social security number

once u have a new byod line set up..typically u will be approved for 5 lines.

...then port out any existing PAID sprint lines to tmobie or h20 and port back into sprint on the newly created byod account

Either buy a new, unused, unactivated tmobile sim card from Ebay, (The seller I bought from was 3.50 but now 3.75, but something like item number 263416268342 would work) or get one from apple store possibly free. If you need your phones to work with talk or texting while with t-mobile you will need refill cards. When I got the sim cards, I just put the sim card in a phone and try making a call and it goes to T-mobile with voice prompts. (don't have one, new activation, Port my number, and new requests I think are the prompts I used. When you get to a live person, tell them your interested in bringing your number from sprint and activating T-mobile prepaid. (They may transfer you to t-mobile prepaid activated department). They asked what plan and I said the pay as you go plan, and when asked about payment I said I was getting refill cards locally after I was sure the number ported as refill cards are not returnable. ( I only did 2 numbers at a time)
good info..thanks..repped

1. what if u dont have a phone (unlocked/gsm etc) to put the sim cards in? then what?

So you're saying that if you open a free BYOD line on Sprint (new SSN), you can then add more free lines to that account by porting additional phones in from other carriers? So the issue here is that the first line on Sprint needs to be a BYOD line (with a new SSN). Or does every line port in have to be associated with a unique non Sprint SSN?

exactly.

remember,
-- every line added has to be ported in from a non sprint (or its mvno) number.
so many use tmobile, h20 even google voice

--every line must have a eligible byod phone

but again..most of this info is available in wiki

step 1 ..
open a new byod free line using a new customer ss number.
your verizon number should qualify
u must also hava a eligible device as well)

OK, so I opened a BYOD account for my daughter (new SSN, eligible number and phone, all good). Can I now port in my Verizon number + eligible Sprint phone to her account? Even though my SSN is also on a current Sprint account (different number/device)?

Do you or does anyone else have any confirmation that they will accept any TIN other than SSN for this plan?

I asked and they told me they would not accept businesses on this plan.

To be eligible you have to be a new customer, meaning Sprint will look for a social security number that is not active on a Sprint account (others say at least 45 days from closing your original Sprint account). The deal is usually you will get approved for 5 lines. So all these other 4 numbers need to be under the umbrella (social security number) of the first (mother) phone. Only 1 ssn/account can have 5 lines. Only 1 ssn is used for that account.

Others who are halfway or nearly halfway who wants to extend their free plan to another 12 months can port out their lines to a non Sprint mvno to temporarily get their phone numbers out of Sprint. Then after a couple of minutes they open another account using a different ssn( spouse/gf/bf/mistress/etc...etc...and port in those phone numbers and enjoy a fresh new 12 months of free service from America's leading cellphone provider. 😃

I highly doubt it if they will approve business phone numbers.

You can now port in any eligible device and eligible phone numbers to your daughter's new free byod plan. You can check if the phone and phone number thru Sprint's eligibility checker webpage. You can port as many numbers to your daughter's account, depending on how many lines she got approved, usually 5 lines. So 1 eligible (new) ssn can get a total of 5 lines under it. The 4 additional numbers don't need a new ssn. They will all be under the primary line's account.
