Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Had a feeling you'd say that. Thanks. A guy on the phone at a local Sprint store said they were free there, but others have said they lie and just want to sign you up there. Guess we'll see. Is it true I can get an appropriate one at BB for $2.99?
I've never tried but I've read $5 or $10 per sim at Best Buy. One guy was able to get it for free but that is exception.

you can also try twigby for $2.99 per sim but I don't know the correct part number you need.

Just wanted to relay my experience on successfully getting this deal on port-in from FreedomPop using a previously-used Sprint ICCID (aka SIM card). I couldn't be happier - everything worked and I just got my first Sprint "bill" Month 1 - only $3.54 (Massachusetts taxes).
  • I called the special Sprint promotional phone line 1-866-782-8777 on Tuesday 1/2/18;
  • Provided Sprint details on a FreedomPop GSM line I had already opened;
  • Provided Sprint ICCID number for a SIM card I had only removed from Tello line 48 hours earlier. Since I had this SIM card on-hand, I didn't need to order one or pay $13 for card & shipping.
  • Provided Sprint MEID on an unlocked, currently unactivated iPhone 5s.
  • Cleared the credit check that Sprint performed over the telephone.
About 36 hours later my port-out was complete and the iPhone's been working great on Sprint ever since.

Has anyone swapped sim cards on an active line, can we do that online or do
we need to call the number?

My sim card is screwed up/defective. I tried to call and they didnt seem to understand the problem. There is a link on the mysprint web site where you can swap sims. is that
going to screw up the free for a year deal?

also there is an upgrade phone link, thought we couldnt switch phones for 4 months.

You can swap phones self-serve on the Dashboard so I am sure you can swap sim cards too. It does not cause a problem with the plan. Or do it with technical support (not with the 8777 Telesales number) if it gets an error (as it often does).

Make sure you are using the correct sim card for your model phone. There are about 30 different sim part numbers and you have to use only the exact correct sim part for your phone model.

https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card lists the correct sim card for all phones.

The upgrade ads on the Dashboard are unreliable. Since upgrading when not eligible causes your account to be switched to a paid account, I would check with the 8777 number before doing an upgrade. It is going to end up that you cannot upgrade before 4 months.

Wow, it took 36 hours to port? I've never used Sprint but I've ported with several different companies and it's never taken more than a few hours. Sometimes only 30 minutes. I'm planning to do this promo before it expires, so I guess I'd better make sure and give it plenty of time. Thanks for the info, though I can't imagine why it took so long with it's all electronic, rep'd

There used to be an almost weekly deal on here for a $1 Sprint sim kit from Amazon, though I don't know if it would have worked in this situation. I haven't seen it in a while. I know I read somewhere in the thread (maybe the very long wiki?) that BB has them for $2.99.

There are cards available on ebay also, but again, I don't know if they'd work. Here is a new one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sprint-B...SwvjdZOr2Q

and there are a bunch of used ones for sale. Who would buy a used sim card? Every sim card I've used and then switched to another is no longer any good.

I'm not familiar with Twigby. I was given a SKU number by a Sprint rep on the phone for the sim, but I seem to have misplaced it, or I'd post it here.

FreedomPop numbers often take longer because they are not true mobile phone numbers (they are VOIP numbers) and therefore not subject to normal porting standards.

You can call Sprint's port department directly (number in the wiki) and they will try to expedite any port that is slow on request - normally while you hold.

Most normal Sprint port-ins are instant.

Sim part number are listed RELIABLY by phone model at https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card

You can also order reliably from Twigby for $2.99 just by phone model. I've done it several times. A zillion people here have ordered from Twigby.

For iPhones (only) the Apple Store will give you the correct Sprint sim for you model if you go in person (but they will not confirm this to phone callers ahead of time.
).

ok, I tried to swap the sim online and it said the two sims I have are in use. Is that
the error you were talking about? I suppose I could try talking with tech support to
see if they can get these replacement sims to work. These are just old sims from
old phones. Probably just need to order a new sim.

The current sim in the phone doesnt register in the phone, like you cant get to see the
iccid when you go to phone info. I put my other sim in there and it shows up fine. its a pixel xl phone. I wanted one that could use the lte plus.

Have you looked up the required sim part numbers for the phone? For Pixel XL the sim is SIMGLW446C. SIMGLW416Q is the sim for the Pixel 2 XL. I do not see where you mentioned what the other phone model is. <**** POST EDIT: Corrected sim part numbers - sorry.

You cannot use random sims. This is not anything like GSM, where you can. A wrong sim can give weird behavior.

If it says they are in use they probably are. Maybe in a half-deactivated state on a Sprint mvno?. If you totally deactivate the phone on any prior Sprint MVNO the sim should free up. But unless it is known to be the right part, I agree it is better to start over with exactly correct sim parts.

But regardless, you can do tech. support chat and they can help. They do not mind at all.

By the way, a sim swap on Sprint means keeping the same phone but changing the sim. You cannot move service from one phone to another just by moving the sim from ome phone to the other. If that is what you are trying to do, I misunderstood. That would explain the "in use" errors. That would be swapping the phone, not just the sim. You can do that too but by requesting a phone swap, not a sim swap. And the sim must be exactly correct for both phones.

The least confusing approach on Sprint is to get the right sims for each phone and leave them in the phone permanently. You activate phones on Sprimt only by IMEI, not by ICCID (which is secondary only).

Thanks. I'll save that link. rep'd. I still may be able to get it from the Sprint store free, since the guy there claimed that. But that will be good to have as a fall back.

Btw, how many billion are in a zillion?

Ok, good to know, Thanks. The Sprint rep had told me 30 mins after they receive it from my provider.

It is supposed to be $5 plus taxes less $5 autopay credit .
So final net should be about $3.24 (depending on area).
Check if the autopay had a problem.
