Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Have you looked up the required sim part numbers for the phone? For Pixel XL the sim is SIMGLW446C. SIMGLW416Q is the sim for the Pixel 2 XL. I do not see where you mentioned what the other phone model is. <**** POST EDIT: Corrected sim part numbers - sorry.

You cannot use random sims. This is not anything like GSM, where you can. A wrong sim can give weird behavior.

If it says they are in use they probably are. Maybe in a half-deactivated state on a Sprint mvno?. If you totally deactivate the phone on any prior Sprint MVNO the sim should free up. But unless it is known to be the right part, I agree it is better to start over with exactly correct sim parts.

But regardless, you can do tech. support chat and they can help. They do not mind at all.

By the way, a sim swap on Sprint means keeping the same phone but changing the sim. You cannot move service from one phone to another just by moving the sim from ome phone to the other. If that is what you are trying to do, I misunderstood. That would explain the "in use" errors. That would be swapping the phone, not just the sim. You can do that too but by requesting a phone swap, not a sim swap. And the sim must be exactly correct for both phones.

The least confusing approach on Sprint is to get the right sims for each phone and leave them in the phone permanently. You activate phones on Sprimt only by IMEI, not by ICCID (which is secondary only).
I guess there is some misinformation in this thread since last time people said any old sim will work and that sprint doesnt care about the sims so much. Glad I bought one from the sprint store for the first phone, worked no problems.

The old phones that I got these sims from were on boost. I am going to try chat to see if they can activate the one sim that comes up correctly on the pixel phone to work. I am not trying to switch phones, just swap sims since my current sim is not functional in the phone. The phone comes up as activated on my sprint account. There are no part numbers listed on the sims. The one was in a moto e4, one was in a note 3, and the other was like a zte concord. I prefer tmobile's approach, where you can just swap the sim to whatever phone you want to use that day, no calling in each time. What sort of time frames are people getting for shipping from twigby says 5-10 days? That sounds like a good site to be sure you get what you need but I dont know if I want to wait for the shipping.

Sprint sims never expire, are independent of mvno or Sprint, and can always be reused.
BUT ONLY in phones for which they are an approved sim.

There are about 30 sim part numbers and if you look at https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card you will see a chart showing whch sims work in which phones. You may be able to use that chart to figure out which unlabeled old sim parts you already have on hand to some extent.

Sprint activates only by IMEI, not by sim. I can see where somebody might word that (incorrectly) as "Sprint does not care about sims" BUT the sim in the phone must be an approved sim for that phone. The sims have completely different capabilities that control features on the phone. I never saw anyone say any old sim would work but I could have missed a post. If anyone did say that, they are woefully misinformed. Actually iPhone sim parts have shown some longevity so maybe they were referring to those. But those too are changing now for the latest iPhones.

I get 3-4 days from Twigby but I am close by.

You can buy sims with complete confidence if you buy locally by sim part number off the Ting chart. Do not rely on the store sales person to know which sim you need - some of them could not care less if they sell you the right sim or not. - they just guess to save their time.

Do you or does anyone else have any confirmation that they will accept any TIN other than SSN for this plan?

I asked and they told me they would not accept businesses on this plan.
I use TIN all the time to sign with Sprint .....if your credit history bundled with it ...

Sorry I was wrong. A zillion is a large indefinite number. I had misremembered the term zillion. The one million billion number is actually quadrillion.

I already have a Sprint free account with my SIN.

I do have a TIN for a trust account (linked to my corp. at the IRS but that is not visible).

Do you think I might be able to get a second free Sprint account with a TIN?

Or would that only work for people who do not have a SIN?

THANKS!

Can I still double dip by porting out then in to extend on this (is there enough time left to do the process)? I left my family account back in July for this deal, now they might want to all switch to this plan as well, but if they don't can I still do it on my own or does it require new account holder?

So I'm not reading through all of this thread to find answer but willing to search if someone could give me an idea what to search for but my question is, can you double dip on this? I left my family account back in July for this deal, but now they want to all switch to this plan as well, could I go back to their Verizon plan then switch again and be set until 2019?
One family member who does not currently have a Sprint account can just open a new account under their SSN and you can move phone numbers onto that (via an intermediate port out to elsewhere as you mention).

If you want to keep the existing number from your Sprint BYOD free line, port it to your family Verizon account, then use the SSN of one of the family members to open a new Sprint BYOD free account, and port everyone into that new account. If you want to your SSN, you have to wait 45 days after you close your Sprint BYOD free account.

LOL I knew that zillion was a fabricated word. I was joking. It's like saying bajillion or a gazillion.

So far, I've had some dropped calls and data is slower than Tmobile but can't beat FREE.

UNLESS, you have to call Sprint customer care. They are the most incompetent service rep in ANY company!! I've never had a problem resolved in a single call... The feeling you get when you check your account and see only the half the problem is solved... UGH!!!

Getting out of Sprint after one year. for sure..
