Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

What exact sim cards part numbers are they? Post them and we will tell you whether they are the correct ones for the respective phone models. (Or you can look at https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-SIM-Card [ting.com] yourself).

If the port requests are still outstanding, you can call the porting dept at Sprint directly at 866-437-1818 prferably during the day and work on the problem lines. They will work on them while you are on the line and call Cricket if you ask them to.

The date issue will not be a problerm in my opinion in any case.
Well, Sprint can't port in my daughter's old number. We got the number when we lived in a different area and that area doesn't have Sprint coverage. They don't have access to that exchange or something. I've never heard of anything like that before, but apparently it can occasionally happen.

Me too. I was in an old MetroPCS family plan of 4 which included 3gb of 4g lte. They refused (rightfully) to upgrade us to the unlimited lte plan for the same price (promo) because it was only for new customers. Since any changes in that plan would result in the loss of the price, I told them to switch my line to another plan we had separately (2 line plan) and they did it. Unbeknownst to them, I then ported out leaving the 4 line plan untouched.
I just talked to the BYOD sales dept again and asked if it had been extended. She checked the latest reports and said there was no word yet. She said they normally aren't told if it's updated or not until the last day of the month. She said whomever said it had been extended was misinformed. So, I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

Coincidentally, I had the exact same thing happen to me, but not regarding Sprint. I have a promotional 6 month "free" sim kit from Republic Wireless (just pay the tax each month), which uses Tmo lines. They refused to accept my number because of where I lived when I initiated the number, which was a small town where they "have no presence".

I guess Sprint has coverage in that area, but it was awful because everyone had either Verizon or ATT. I knew of no one who had Sprint or Tmoble

Just tried opening an account with my dad's SSN and the credit department rejected the app. The rep didn't provide a reason why, just the usual 'you will get a notice in the mail' crap. I got him that Sprint iPhone SE deal at BB in July 2017 and then cancelled the account so that's the only reason that I can think of that caused this. I didn't get asked the public information questions like others did, just did you have an account with Sprint before and what was the old PIN?

Thanks, repped. Nobody at Sprint support mentioned that to me. I'll try it. Where did you find it? I googled it but nothing came up

Edit: tried it and it works. Interesting. Through that I found out I have an email address with Sprint that I didn't know about. It is: (my full name) @sprintpcs.com
Quote from couponhunter89 :
Yes, I saw that too some time ago, but I am not interested in using it so it's quite worthless for me. Anyways, did you find the APN settings?
All Sprint users have that [email protected] email address. It started with the Sprint PCS Vision called PCS Mail. I believe the PCS Mail has been turned off, and the email address is now used only for provisioning data to your device. There used to be a built-in native Sprint email app that supported PCS Mail on old Sprint devices. If anyone else knows how to access the PCS Mail now, please share Big Grin

Regarding APN, it should be automatically set/provisioned through Profile update. You have to manually edit the APN only if your Profile is corrupted.

It's the rate center. LNP allows carriers to deny porting in numbers coming from any rate center that they have no presence in. You have to do "port dance" or go through an exchange to match the rate center. Google for "rate center porting." In the past, people had success port dancing to Google Voice and then back to carrier of choice because Google Voice has presence in many rate centers.

Just setup Tmobile Prepaid to port to Sprint. The telephone rep had me set a six-digit pin instead of a four digit pin mentioned as the norm for T-Mobile Prepaid in discussion here and other forums. Are there different pins for account and porting or just a single pin for all purposes?

Anyone have experience with six-digit pin?

There is no way to manually input the APN on my phone now that I joined Sprint.. Another odd thing is that when I was able to view them with the help of another SD member by dialing *#*#data#*#* it only shows 3 categories, none of which are labeled (ie Name) nor do I recognize any of the inputs. The other member has 6 categories. There was even some kind of network update that was sent to my phone last night (I found a message about it in my notifications) but I just checked and the APN settings are still the same.

Edit: I just went back into *#*#data#*#*. I found that when I tapped on each of the 3 categories under APN, they opened and each had 6 more categories. Some of them were familiar. But still no way to edit them that I found.

Word to the wise—I added two lines yesterday. The process was mostly seamless (via the 8777 number). I noticed this morning, however, that device protection was added to both lines, even though I was never asked to accept or deny the insurance. I was able to get the protection canceled through chat, but check your accounts!

Where in the account did you find this? I don't even know how you were able to see it. Their site is a mess. I can view Dashboard but nothing else in My Sprint will load on either Chrome or IE for me. A rep yesterday said she was having the same issues with it.

Edit: finally got in on IE (still can't on Chrome). I went on Dashboard and Bill but it said I have no charges. Did you find it somewhere else?

I'm using Chrome. If you click on 'My Sprint' and then 'Dashboard' you should see your devices. Click 'Manage devices' next to any line. Then, you should see a link for 'Change services.'

You can also click 'My Sprint' and find 'Change services' under the 'More' heading. I was able to uncheck the $13 TEP (and received email confirmation that it was removed). I also used their online chat to confirm that device protection had been removed.

Thanks, that worked. repped. Still having trouble with Chrome on their site, but I can get there if I persist. Here is what I found:
You have no current services. You can add additional services to your account listed in the "Services you can add" section below.

So nothing I need to remove. I guess yours was targeted or something like that.

But I did find something interesting in that section. An option for a free 6 month trial for Tidal HIFI. I'm already on the last month of my previous free trial and will be starting another one in a few weeks from a different deal (via Groupon), so I'm hoping that Sprint offer still exists when that one expires.

I also found kind of a roundabout way of getting there. If you click on 'My Sprint' and then 'Documents', you get taken to a different page. On the right hand side, you'll see another prompt that reads 'Change my services.' Here, you can select your line, and then see if the $13 TEP is applied.

OK, tried that too. Got a pop up box, but nothing in it about a protection plan or charges.
