Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

The imei alone may not allow Sprint to tell that your phone has been crippled intentionally by AT&T.

However if you get the GSX report on EBay for 99 cents it will show the status of locks - maybe you can get AT&T to remove them. Does the phone have the Sprint bands?
That may or may not be true. But we as consumer can not all be as technical as to know what/which model of a phone works or won't work with Sprint. I/we rely on Sprint byod imei check to tell us. Also since Sprint only whitelist phones one would assume that the phone will work with their network when the online imei checker says something along the line congratulations you can use your phone on our network and save $$$$ after you put in the imei.
My phone is indeed unlocked as I have used it on T-Mobile, AT&T.

Very good - thanks. And have you checked that the account with the same SSN actually got a new extended end date and not the same one it had before?

If so, that would open up some possibilities for others. It was said to be the case that you had to wait 45 days before using the same SSN as a new customer.

Thanks.
Just because it initially worked doesn't mean the Fraud Dept won't catch it in an audit. It's a risk worth taking but doesn't mean people doing this will get a full free year. Waiting 45 days is safer, if possible.

Do you have an unlocked cricket wireless iPhone SE? I get "no service" on mine. It's been a few weeks and Sprint couldn't figure out what's wrong. The phone activates fine and they say they can see it on their network. (I have more than 1 iPhone SE and they all have the same problem when I try to use it on Sprint, "no service") They have even created a ticket support for my case but after a missed call I haven't been able to contact them. I left messages and repeated call them back no so far still nothing.

If I have to pay for their phone service I would drop them immediately.
I have the exact same problem with my iPhone SE (MP7T2LL/A). It activated fine through Sprint. "No service" displayed on the upper left corner no matter what I did. If you turn on airplane mode then switch it off, it will change from No Service to Searching to Sprint for a few seconds before going back to No Service. Tried service update, reset network settings, factory reset, iTunes restore, switched to another SIM card, drove to locations with stronger signals and still "No Service". Chatted with Sprint multiple times and everything was fine on their end. Phone shows up on my Sprint dashboard. After exhausting all options, I thought my phone was defective sent it for service request to Apple. Had no idea others were experiencing this issue too.

You can't use a Cricket (or ATT/Tmobile/Verizon) iPhone SE on Sprint. Sprint has thier own model (A1723).
Yes you can. The A1662 is missing band 41 lte though.

Lol. Ah finally someone with the exact same problem.
If Sprint have told me that the phone won't work with their network that will be the end of it. But they keep saying that they see my phone and their end, it should work. Also they said the imei checks out good too.

Also if you leave the SIM in there for about an hour it will go to "SIM failure" eventually.

I actually get Sprint service with Lte for about 15 seconds when I restart phone or eject and reinsert the SIM. Also the Wi-Fi calling works even though I have no service. lol

Can you send me a pm if/when you get this resolved? I'll do the same if I find a solution.

Some good news and bad news about Sprint were released today. Reading the article about customer growth it's no wonder that this BYOD Free 1 Year was extended for 3 additional months (another fiscal quarter) and it may very well be further extended past this April:

I will do that.
Moreover I think people need to verify that the 45 day clock has really started. Some people have waited 45 days and then been told they have to wait another 45 days because the account was left inactive but still officially open.

Many many unlocks are GSM only so that is not proof.

I agree with you but would suggest getting to the bottom of it, wherever that may lie, with Sprint or with AT&T or with Apple.

There may well be a lock on it still - easy to check with the GSX report or if you do not want to pay the 99 cents ask Apple - they maintain the locks. There are different kinds of locks as well (subsidy locks, carrier locks, etc.).

Ok will do. Although my SE is in limbo now since I sent it to Apple a few days ago.

My SE is an unlocked A1662, MP7T2LL/A, which I guess is the ATT/T-Mo/Verizon version. Like I said it activates on Sprint, but has anyone actually gotten service and been able to make calls with an A1662 iPhone SE on Sprint?

Sent an email to Marci earlier this morning and got a quick response from someone in the credit department. He verified the information on the application and still said it was rejected. He provided no explanation as to what the cause was and said the rejection notice in the mail will further outline the reasoning. Just a bizarre sequence...

Darn darn darn.
Well I can see there could be reasons why in certain circumstances they would not want to give the reason over the phone (such as if they were unconvinced as to who they were talking to) but I guess it will be necessary to wait for now to find out exactly what the issue (or imagined issue) is.

I've finally gotten to the point where things are somewhat set-up and I'm enjoying the service instead of fighting it. The most recent problem was when I activated another line and then tried to switch the phones used on two of the lines. One of the phones started up fine with the new number. The other phone just wouldn't connect properly. After hours of following instructions from on-line chats and over-the-phone support, I finally took the phone to a sprint store where they changed the sim card out (the sim that had been working fine with the other phone number) and all of a sudden it worked! Literally 4 or 5 hours struggling, only to find the problem was a sim card that couldn't handle the change (or Sprint infrastructure that couldn't complete the change until I switched sim cards...). Actually, it was the second sprint store I had taken the phone to -- the first struggled just like I had and then finally hit on the idea of changing sim card, but didn't have the right one in stock.+
