Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

My device was already unlocked by sprint few months back for Int'l & domestic use, but failing FEC
One of my essential phones was auto unlocked a few days after paying off lease in November but failed FED. I think the line might have been flagged perhaps for lack of usage (coincidentally this line and another did not have its upgrade eligibility reset after paying off lease). UICC unlock says it is locked even though I can use Verizon sim. I tried to call customer care last month to unlock but they said it was already unlocked. Last week I went to international chat and requested international and domestic unlock. A day later UICC is unlocked and FED is clear. My suggestion would be to request unlock again through international chat. They didn't even give me an excuse that the phone was already unlocked like customer care.

Sounds like a computer bug to me - the flags are getting mixed up for this phone. But your suggestion is good.

She most likely referred you/him to Executive Credit so ask that person what other means you can use to establish identity.

For example, can he take id to a store? I can understand he may not want to go to the trouble.

Try to get a measure of what the area of the underlying problem is.

When they say "could not verify identity" that is likely a euphemism for saying they suspect identity fraud. Try to figure out why this might be the case and explain it. I do not suspect at all it is true - most likely some kind of mixup or even fraud by someone else under his name.

You are somewhat at a disadvantage if the conversations with them were your father's rather than your own, as he may have told them (perfectly justifiably) to buzz off by now. You may just have to let it go or try it under your own SSN if you might qualify.
Not that simple my friend. I pinged Marci earlier today and got a quick response from the same Credit Department schlub the first time around. He regurgitated the same crap about the 'system' making the decision to deny the approval, there is no way around it, and to apply again after 60 days. Basically, there is no way around an arbitrary computer system verifying identity. I told him this is beyond absurd...I am willing and able to provide proof of identity! And what's the logic of applying again if the system can't verify your identity now?

Oh I see. I did not know. At least a couple of people here have got approved with her help but obviously that path is not working in your case. I am definitely not assuming there is any fault at all on your part. In fact I agree that Sprint is at fault for not, at the very least, explaining their decision in detail or offering any recourse.

If there is someone else who can apply under their SSN maybe that could be a possibility.

It appears that Sprint contracts out identity verification to Equifax or Lexis Nexis so one thing you could do is review your credit reports for inaccuracies.

I actually think that the offer may still be open in 60 days so you could conceivably try it through a dealer at that time. Dealers cannot set up the offer, but some people have got them to set up an empty account to start it off.

I realize you should not have to and may not want to do any of these things.

Deal still active, got it today, 2/16/2018, good until 4/30/2019. Here's my tale:

I was on ting with an iPhone SE after previously having been on ringplus. I was using ting's CDMA service, so it's considered a Sprint MVNO, and not elligble for this promotion.

1) Ported my number to H2O. Bad experience. H2O customer service reps were very difficult to understand and didn't have any information past standard scripts. They said the port in would take 24 hours. After 2 days, I called them and they said the SIM i had wasn't eligible for the pay-as-you-go plan I signed up for, and would need to be put on a prepaid plan. I said I didn't want that, and they told me they'd cancel the port request. I contacted ting to also let them know that I was canceling the port request to H2O, but they said it can only be cancelled from H2O's side. 4 days later, my number ported to H2O. I called to complain, but they weren't willing to do anything about it. Put money on my account, made my 3 calls, and called H2O to get my account and PIN. Then had to wait 5 days before they would release my number to port out. This is apparently a policy that they never told me before. I added this info to the wiki.

2) Checked Sprint eligibility online. It said my device was inelligible because I still owed Sprint money or something like that. I knew from this forum that that meant I needed to get the ownership flag changed to SPCS. Online chat with Ting, asked them to change the flag, and they did it in less than 30 seconds, no problem, even though I had ported out my number and that device was no longer active on ting! Sprint eligibility check was successful.

3) Called the promo number. Went through all the set up stuff with the rep. Took about an hour, but I didn't realize that they would be able to port my number over immediately while on the phone! Credit check went through. Insert my Sprint SIM, dial ##873283#, make test call. Go online, set up my Sprint account, confirm unlimited everything for free!

I actually had a ton more problems with H2O, had to call them about 6 times and got different answers, transferred a lot, and completely unhelpful people everytime. This is sort of a cleaned up/advisory version for others. For the other lines that I'm going to add to the Sprint account, I'll try tmobile. I got some pay-as-you-go SIM cards for tmobile off ebay for $7, that come preloaded with $10. Beats H2O!

Apologies if this has been asked before(there ARE over 1K pages of responses):

I just got my SIM card today, filled out the information online as instructed and my account has been created. Just waiting the 10 minutes for the SIM card to activate. My question is:

By going through this process, will my previous account with AT&T be automatically cancelled? Or do I still need to contact them and cancel directly?

Porting out the number will automatically cancel the account.
It is important not to cancel it with AT&T before it is ported out.

Hi, Could anyone let me know if Sprint charge device protection plan, does the charge show on my first bill? When I signed up, the sales added the device protection plan and told me that it could be cancelled later, I called the same day and cancelled the plan, but I am still not sure if it is indeed cancelled. Received the first bill for two lines $6.90 charge ( tax and fees ) , so does it mean that the plan was cancelled ? Because on my online account no where can I find if I have the plan or it was called. Thanks.

People say that if you call same day it never shows at all. But you can do billing chat to confirm.

Wow this is horrible its obvious why they have to give away free service.

In google voice it says my port is approved, how long should i wait until i call the sprint port number listed above? If phone doesnt work in X hours, i should call, etc.

Whats the fastest a GV port has gone through?

Just call - you do not have to wait to call until it is late - they do not mind at all and are friendly. When porting in from regular cellular carriers, they will normally complete it while you are on hold. GV is a VOIP number so GV is not held to those standards, but sometimes Sprint can sort out something when you call.

Google ports to a carrier can take hours or days as I've done it twice.

I was literally on the phone with him, it said pending to him, he said hang up and wait. Im trying to determine how much time is reasonable to wait.
