Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Are you sure you are referring to admin fee? $5 flat fee is charged for the line if you have not enabled autopay
He has 2 lines so 2x $2.50 = $5.00 -- Sprint lists it as a single charge on the bill

Nicely done. Fwiw I did jump the gun by two days and no go. (Yes simple math eludes me).
As usual Sprint reps were very patient and helpful.
I have an application number now for call back in two days.
Very good - there can always be ambiguity as to whether part days count and whether an extra day is needed etc so either count was probably arguable. I think I may have given it a couple of days extra.

You have helpfully got confirmation that the 45 days away requirement is firm so I will go back and change my wording to reflect that.

Anyone had luck with porting from republic wireless ? I remember some people on the thread reported success.

I went through the whole process with Sprint tele until it was stuck at logging into the republic wireless porting request. It wouldn't take my account number (phone number) and pin combination. I had just chosen than pin online with republic.

I do not know about Republic Wireless (it should be fine) but would suggest calling 866-782-8777 instead of using the web page signup for this offer. Calling in is more flexible and better in general in the opinion of many of us. A lot of things come up that the automated process does not handle well.

I did call this number. Went back and forth with calling Sprint and Republic. Republic says that the account number and pin that I'm providing are correct but Sprint says the combination is wrong. Filed a ticket with Republic as they don't have phone support. Have to wait. Grrr.

Oh I see. They are probably VOIP numbers so RW does not have to provide phone support to either you or to Sprint. VOIP carriers are not subject to the same service standards and often require that ports be completed by automated exchanges only with no phone calls or manual involvement. Things do still get sorted out, but it can take several automated cycle turnarounds with x hour intervals each time, sometimes only taking place during business hours.

You can probably call Sprint at 866-437-1818 when inquiring about port status periodically. They just send the info you give them to RW and RW makes the call whether it is satisfied that it matches.

I ikmagine you have seen
https://help.republicwireless.com...c-Wireless
which says:

"If the first attempt to transfer your number is unsuccessful, you'll need to update the PIN for the service line being transferred and submit a new transfer request through your new provider"

Thanks for replying and the info. Missed that note from Republic. I'll change the pin before the next try.

Had anyone had success upgrading a phone and keeping the free year. I signed up back in July, but I wasn't sure about how to do this and keep my free year.

You can buy a Sprint compatible phone + compatible SIM on your own then do an online chat with CS for a "device swap" -- just give them new phone MEID/IMEI and SIM ICCID

If you want to do an actual "upgrade" (get new phone from Sprint) then you can only do it from your online account or by calling telesales -- do not upgrade at any Sprint store or any 3rd party retailer

In general No, you don't risk losing the plan unless you signup for extra services with Sprint or try to finance a phone from them without reading the fine print.
Just call or walk in to a corporate store and tell them your phone isn't working. They'll quickly figure out the SIM card is an issue and replace it for you. They shouldn't charge you for this service either. If they don't have that particular SIM card you can ask CS to ship it to you for free.

Yes, I switched phones multiple times, from noe Pixel XL to another, then to another Pixel 2 XL. No problem whatsoever. Their website tool to switch devices doesn't work properly for me, so have to chat with them. Doesn't take more than 5 mins.
I even got the Sprint Essential Phone deal when they were selling them for less than $200 during black friday. Without losing the Free Plan

Just get an unlocked paid for Sprint compatible iPhone X, new or used. Used shouldn't have been on Sprint before or you might have to go through the process of clearing that flag from their database.
Then signup for this deal.
You technically don't need to have the phone in-hand to sign up for this deal, checkout my comment history to find out how Wink

Don't bother with an iPhone X on Sprint, it doesn't support HPUE or MIMO (i.e crappy signal).
