Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

is a fine Sprint mvno with a less ambiguous (for newbies) checker than Ting has.
Ideally try all of Sprint, Tello, Ting checkers.

Note, this is NOT just looking for a Yes answer but looking for any differences in the results between the three to post those results here so that people diagnostic what they suggest in a given problem case for a given phone.
My phone doesn't work with Sprint, Tello but ting says my phone is compatible to use on their gsm network. What should I do now?

Looks like metropcs offers free 2 months after rebate and free phone. Maybe it is another way to do it? Upfront cost is high, thats a downside.

You cannot use it in that case since it is not even in the Sprint database. It is probably a prepaid model sold by, and restricted to, one carrier.

Has anyone had any success trying to go from virgin free one year to this plan? Would it be port out to another plan (like mint), then get flag flipped, then port into Sprint?

You do not need to unlock a Sprint phone to use it on Sprint so should be ok then.

If it can be unlocked Sprint will unlock it for you after 50 days on your account on Sprint too.
Thank you. I guess its a go then. Based upon the info you and this forum have provided I fell better about purchasing the cells I PM'ed you about.

btw, I sent Literally Unlimited a PM and he too gave it a thumbs up (with a standard disclaimer that I hope doesn't apply). He said:

This phone is completely compatible with Sprint and set as activation-ready. If it won't activate, only Sprint tech support can help you.

No they don't use same sim. Note 8 uses simolw416Q. Your nexus 6 uses simglw446C or simolw506C which are not compatible.

Hi,
I have an iphone SE 64gb (Verizon/Model A1662) which is fully unlocked and I am using it with H2O successfully. But when I check its eligibility for this promo, I get the message "Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device. Sign in to find this device on your account."

I have never been a sprint customer ever...Any ideas why I am getting such message ?
Thanks in advance...

Edit - Got it resolved by chatting with Ting and setting the flag back to SPCS.

When I swap my wife's Nexus 6 out for the Note 8 how can I make the Nexus 6 able to be used for porting in a new line with Sprint? The imei stays linked with Sprint or something doesn't?

Deal still active, got it today, 2/16/2018, good until 4/30/2019. Here's my tale:

I was on ting with an iPhone SE after previously having been on ringplus. I was using ting's CDMA service, so it's considered a Sprint MVNO, and not elligble for this promotion.

1) Ported my number to H2O. Bad experience. H2O customer service reps were very difficult to understand and didn't have any information past standard scripts. They said the port in would take 24 hours. After 2 days, I called them and they said the SIM i had wasn't eligible for the pay-as-you-go plan I signed up for, and would need to be put on a prepaid plan. I said I didn't want that, and they told me they'd cancel the port request. I contacted ting to also let them know that I was canceling the port request to H2O, but they said it can only be cancelled from H2O's side. 4 days later, my number ported to H2O. I called to complain, but they weren't willing to do anything about it. Put money on my account, made my 3 calls, and called H2O to get my account and PIN. Then had to wait 5 days before they would release my number to port out. This is apparently a policy that they never told me before. I added this info to the wiki.

2) Checked Sprint eligibility online. It said my device was inelligible because I still owed Sprint money or something like that. I knew from this forum that that meant I needed to get the ownership flag changed to SPCS. Online chat with Ting, asked them to change the flag, and they did it in less than 30 seconds, no problem, even though I had ported out my number and that device was no longer active on ting! Sprint eligibility check was successful.

3) Called the promo number. Went through all the set up stuff with the rep. Took about an hour, but I didn't realize that they would be able to port my number over immediately while on the phone! Credit check went through. Insert my Sprint SIM, dial ##873283#, make test call. Go online, set up my Sprint account, confirm unlimited everything for free!

I actually had a ton more problems with H2O, had to call them about 6 times and got different answers, transferred a lot, and completely unhelpful people everytime. This is sort of a cleaned up/advisory version for others. For the other lines that I'm going to add to the Sprint account, I'll try tmobile. I got some pay-as-you-go SIM cards for tmobile off ebay for $7, that come preloaded with $10. Beats H2O!
This helped me a lot. Thanks so much !!

You're welcome. And as a follow up bit of advice, transferring 2 other family member phone numbers to tmobile pay-as-you-go was super simple. It was done in about an hour, and i was able to immediately call Sprint and port the number into my free account.

Last thing - the Sprint reps try to get you to add some "device protection plan" for like $15 a month. Be clear that you do not want it, as I had one sprint rep add it on one of the lines i ported. I called and got it removed later, which was simple, but should never have been added in the first place.

Does anyone know the easiest/fastest way to get a phone re-sku'd from Boost back to Sprint? Unfortunately this is not something LiterallyUnlimited can help with but he has suggested calling sprint tier 2 tech support repeatedly until someone will help me with it. I dont think I can handle calling sprint CS repeatedly, I will go insane, or kill myself, or someone else. They make me so angry.

btw - the phone was never on boost. :|
