Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I have a recently unlocked iPhone SE that was originally locked to AT&T prepaid (which ends this month). I put in my imei and phone # and it says my phone is compatible with the promotion. Can I by a sprint SIM at best buy? I rather buy through a retail store and call up to order and activate.
Yes you can and that is better in my opinion:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/boos...Id=5887020

Or better yet, free at most Apple stores if you bring in your phone

Awesome thanks so much! So these are the steps I need to do I suppose this Saturday then
1. Buy the Boost mobile SIM kit from BB
2. Go home and call 1-866-782-8777, tell them I want to open a new Sprint account and be put on the free year unlimted promo.
3. Give them my IMEI, phone number, Boost sim number, AT&T prepaid account and pin.
4. Give them my SSN to run a credit pull
5. I'm good?

Correct. It is a Sprint(+/Boost/+Virgin) sim as are all Sprint sims - they are not differentiated by marketing brand.

Sorry for the repeat question but I've read through the wiki plus 10 pages I can't seem to find the answer:

Quote :
$5/line/mo up to 5 lines. (Free with AutoPay until 9/30/18)
What happens after that? You continue until your year is up (i.e. April 2019), but pay the $5 plus tax? That's the obvious outcome but I would like some confirmation.

That quote is outdated and from someone who quoted what the offer was in summer 2017.

Now it says "Free with AutoPay until 5/31/19"

You go to the regular sprint rate ($60 for line 1, $40 for line 2 ,$30 for line 3)

Starting of course 12 or 13 months after you sign up, not on the date he posted from an old version of the offer.

Thank you good sir! I might try and go to BB today to pick up the Sim pack. My only worries now is the CS at Sprint screw up and put me on a paid plan. the 866-782-8777 number appears to be their main number now.

They actually do use it for multiple promotions but that will not be a problem as they will read you the terms and conditions for your agreement and they are actually very clear.

Exactly right and that might have been what went wrong if they did not get to the point of actually entering it. Never ask them any questions about what qualifies. We do not want their worthless guesses, we want them to type in the MEID and phone number and see what the system says and nothing more. If you asked quetions about what qualifies that explains it because they will interpret that as a request for a guess. Just give them MEID and phone number and nothing more until that is entered. If they ask what model say it is a Samsung Galaxy and nothing more.

Also you can tell them it passed the online check.

I have activated 3 Sprint phones none of which were on the list, including even an old flip phone with no sim.
Tried again with both Galaxy S5 and LG L3. Just gave IMEIs, she knew what model they were after I gave her the IMEIs. She said both could be activated on Sprint, just not on the 1 year free. Looks like they have locked this down to just those specific devices now.

Thanks that's new. I never got that. I just added two Sprint phones two weeks ago that were not on the list.

That added check may or may not be manual and if so some reps. may skip/ignore it.. It could even be over-zealousness on the part of some reps. I half suspect that. If they can override, commission-greedy reps may do so.

It has always puzzled me because there were always reports of *some* people getting that response but I never did, even when the online system had rejected it..

So I suspect trying again periodically might work. Especially late at night when U.S.-based supervisors may be absent.

Other than that, you may have to try an MEID/IMEI swap then and see if that bypasses that. Those go through tech. support, not sales, and with any luck they will not care (certainly do not mention the issue).

An MEID swap should bypass that check (because I do not think they are ever thorough), but if it depends exactly where they have put in the check that they may have added.

Ah that's more like what I thought would happen.

What does the other Sprint address say?

I put the sim in called and added the Xfinity Note 8 with no problems. Auto updated to all the Sprint stuff and seems to be working fine. 👍
