Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Quote from onewhowas :
I was able to remove it by going to My Sprint --> Change services
Then select the phone number to change services on (if you have more than one phone line on this account) and select Continue
In the "Protection_TEP" section, I was able to uncheck "Total Equipment Protection Plus".
Then "Continue" and it got removed from my account.

My first bill had already been created before I removed the insurance, so I don't know if it was removed immediately (and will get a partial credit on the next bill) or it didn't take effect until the next billing cycle.
But it showed gone on the main Sprint page immidiately after I unchecked that box.
If I don't see a partial credit on this next bill for the remaining amount of the month, after I removed the insurance, then I'll chat with customer service to get the credit.
I'll give an update after my next bill arrives.
Yeah I did that too the one time I was charged it but wanted to give people a simple one-step surefire way. Also just removing it, if done too long afterward, might not necessarily constitute a request for a refund as well. I removed it moments after adding the line and it never showed anywhere again after I removed it.

But now they know both ways which is best!

Noobin out here...
Since having Google Voice, I haven't done a port yet. OP mentions to setup the SIM first. What happens during the SIM setup/does the phone request a phone number and should you give the GV number or the carrier number?

I did see OP's GV link but there is no mention of the carrier number in the port process. Thanks.

I signed up for the one year free promo yesterday (4/30). When I checked the plan details on the Sprint website after logging in, it says "$5/line/mo up to 5 lines. ($60/line value free with AutoPay until 05/31/19)". Does this mean we actually can have free service (excluding taxes) for 13 months instead of 12 months? Is the expiration date accurate?

T-Mo is the fastest.
H2O takes several days.
I haven't seen anything cheaper and fast.

You can try this from AT&T for 99 cents:

https://www.att.com/cellphones/pr...sku7420309

But it takes a few days to ship and I'm not sure if you can port the # in/out without doing a $10 funding of the account.
With T-Mo you can port in/out without funding the account.

If you're not in a hurry, you may want to try AT&T for 99 cents and try porting in/out without funding the account and let us all here know if it works!
Worst case you'll have to fund the account with $10 and that works evenly with the other ways.

If you have an iPhone you can get a free T-Mo sim at any Apple store and use that to port out/in.

Sprint GV Integration no longer exists as of June and is already deprecated.
So if you want to continue to use GV, just set it up the normal GV way.
That is, just port in a private non-GV number to Sprint and point your well-known public GV number to it within GV.

However using GV will prevent you from using HD Voice, VoLTE, etc. Personally I would drop it for now, and just port in your well known GV number, thereby removing GV from use. (You can still use Hangouts). Sprint already has Visual Voicemail of a sort on Sprint-branded phones (only)

Thanks a lot.
To clarify: port into Sprint with the carrier number given to me by the MVNO and also unlock the GV number in the Google Voice settings (per OP's link)?

Which way do you want to go?
(1) if you want to keep GV in use as the initial destination of calls made to your generally-known public number (which would forward them to Sprint), then port in the private mvno carrier number and you do not touch Google Voice. You cannot port in directly from a Sprint mvno though.
(2) If you want to drop use of GV's service, then pay $3 to unlock the GV number (which I assume is your well known public number that you give to friends) and port it in to Sprint. (In this case you would make no further use of the private mvno number).

Thanks, I didn't understand the meaning of unlock a GV number until your explanation. I would prefer the first option but if I did the imei check and deal sign up with the GV number, would I k ow have to unlock the gv number/as the only option?

Very good.

You can still do either - just call 866-782-8777 when the sim comes and give new instructions rather than clicking any links. The only thing is it may involve a second credit check.
