Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Any BYODer's needing cheap phones?
I took a chance on Orbic Wonder for two of my people.
There's a 15% eBay coupon on SD. Easily found.
Unlocked for any carrier.
Here is link to phone. Supposed to be10/10 condition used.
$80 less 15 % = $72 shipped

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Orbic-WOND...%7Ciid%3A1
Also FYI, it will use SIMOLW506TQ sim card(available in boost BYOD kit at best buy) or SIMGLW406TQ sim card.

Great, it shows this:
  • Unlimited - Bring Your Phone
  • Unlimited Talk, Text and Data.
  • $5/line/mo up to 5 lines. ($60/line value free with AutoPay until 5/31/19)
  • 10GB Mobile Hotspot.
  • International Text from US.
  • Requires $5 per line/per month AutoPay discount.
  • Savings until 5/31/19; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2 and $30/mo./line for lines 3-5 with AutoPay.
Yeah, I finally guessed that it was probably really ok despite their very confused messaging/feedback to you.

Trying to port a line from FP and got rejected. Reason is some information not correct. But I verified everything looks right. Anyone had this problem before?
Quote from kmartindI :
I believe port out should work from FP GSM, if you use the exact info from Settings->Port Out Info on FP. (phone number, account number and porting PIN are the important items).
If on FP CDMA it probably won't work because the device and/or number are already active on a Sprint MVNO.
It should work in either case because FP numbers are never Sprint numbers. They are usually Bandwidth.com (or other landline/VOIP numbers). (FP also uses a hidden real Sprint number but your number is never a Sprint number). It will show to Sprint as usually bandwidth.com so that part is ok.

"FreedomPop - account number is the 10-digit phone number,. To find your pin go https://my.freedompop.com, log in, click the "hamburger" (3 stacked horizontal lines) menu icon at the top left and choose Settings and then choose Port Out Info. Or if you are already logged-in just go to https://my.freedompop.com/settings/port-out-info."

I assumed that before approving me for one, the habibi would've checked my coverage area... nope. The box is useless as you say

but we do get a neat battery charger to take around Stick Out Tongue

Anyone know if the charger needs to be returned or just the unit and power cord?

Very important to keep in mind that:

When/if you cancel your Sprint account you MUST return the Magic Box or your Sprint account will stay active. The Magic Box gets assigned a cell phone # in your area code, so your account is active with a phone #. The Magic Box is useless without a Sprint account and a phone # assigned to it so that it is activated in the Sprint network.

So, if you want to completely close your Sprint account, stay out of Sprint for the required 45 days so that you can be considered a new customer, (say, to re-register as a new customer for the BYOD free offer with the same SS #), you must return the Magic Box and all its contents so that the Sprint account will completely close.

Good to know that the number should be able to port out, but I assume the device would still have to be taken off the account (and flag flipped back to SPCS) before the same device would pass the Sprint BYOD check. My FP CDMA device is a Nexus 5 with the magical inflating battery problem and I was worried about also running into the very common stuck power button issue too (like happened to my previous N5) so I never actually attempted porting that one out, and had just figured it might not work anyway.

The number I am trying to port is on the CDMA side, it's a BYOD to FP. The phone has recently died, but when I call the number and leave a message, I can see it registered in the usage. Trying to get FP support to take a look but no response so far.

kmartind has a good point - even apart from resolving the phone number issue PIN issue, you may have to get the phone IMEI deactivated from FP, AND get it pushed back to Sprint Postpaid status for activation on Sprint. (Or did Sprint already approve the activation and you are just waiting on the PIN issue?).

FP will usually not automatically flip the mvno flag if you just deactivate it (you could get LiterallyUnlimited to do it after it is off), but perhaps surprisingly I think FP will "flip the flag" to SPCS from PLBL on specific request. In other words, tell them you want it not just deactivated, but also freed up to activate on Sprint postpaid. In fact I have got them to do that for me.

A post on Howard Forums says the instructions say to keep the "battery pack."

You can request a return kit from your Dashboard.

However, it doubles or triples speeds for me and many others.

Are you not in a band 41 area at all? They normally do check before sending it.

Are you sure it does not work? You need to leave it trying to connect for a long time. Also it may not be provisioned properly. Tech support for it is 844-463-3194.

I leave it until it says it can't connect and to try a new spot. I've tried every window... I've tried outside... Sprint in Hawaii is basically garbage.

Also just noticed that the e4 phones from BB I wanted to get are actually $129, not $79 (with activations rofl) ... bummer

Can you get any band 41 signal on a regular phone? (You can run the SignalCheck app. on Android to track band used).

If so it should work and may not be provisioned properly on Sprint's side.

If you have no band 41 it will not work as you note.
