Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Brought a Sprint iPhone 6S+ on ebay for 240 and activated on 2 days ago.

I would have done it a lot sooner if they support the kind of phone I use (large android phone).

Any 6.5" phone I can use? Nexus 6P is crap.

I will try those apps but tried the speedtest app and it crashed in house on both phones. took it outside tonight and on one phone it's 1.58 download .01 upload and the other is 1.34 download and .06 upload. Frown That is standing out in our road.
You probably just have crappy coverage. Their maps are wrong. Get a free magic box for the free power bank and then send the unit back. Pray Tmo's merger will get you better coverage. Many of us are in the same boat.

I got a call a week ago from Sprint asking me if I wanted to return my magic box as I haven't (CAN'T) set it up. They mailed me a return kit... for handsets. It's a white bubblewrap envelope but it's too small. They said over the phone I have 15 days from the date of the return kit being shipped to sent the unit back or I'll incur chargers lol. After calling them and explaining the situation, Sprint said they would send me another kit but I also had to include now the first return kit they mailed by mistake. The following day I check my email and see that I have 2 new orders on the way. 1 return kit for the magic box and ANOTHER FRIGGIN HANDSET RETURN KIT... ANOTHER ONE!!! Sprint. Bruh... how the hell.
I had to call Sprint again and ask if I had how many days I still have to return the magic box and I had to wait for the 2nd handset return kit. !@#$%R&*$#@^

Google Voice is now capable of wifi calling without cell service. They have a beta project running right now where you can sign up and usually your Google account will see the change within a day or two. I wouldn't recommend it if you use an Obi GV adapter in your home for your cordless phones. Google states your Obi box will stop working if you sign up and I don't think you can undo the GV account changes. It works very well and the voice quality is excellent, HD quality.

I'm not sure, I've never used Hangouts. I have seen a number of comments and posts where users have said there is little difference.

Sprint has clarified that you can just slap the label on the box and return it. The weight limit on the label just refers to the Free limit. They will be billed for the overage. I returned mine that way no problem. It will be tracked and you can follow its route and so have proof of delivery.

Just wanted to let the G6 play crowd know that mine is successfully unlocked. I submitted the request through chat on Wednesday and it went through this morning. I tried Verizon and AT&T sim cards and both worked right away.

Another data point for successfully activating Moto G6 Play (from Walmart) on Sprint free line.
$80 well spent.
Very nice phone and aspect ratio is just amazing.
I initially tried chatting couple of times but that didnt work. Got it done on first call.

Thank you guys!

Just slap the label on the box and send it back - see my post above for details.

Boost , Virgin and Sprint Prepaid are all Sprint Prepaid brands and are never allowed on Sprint Postpaid (except for glitches). Those phones are sold at subsidized prices in exchange for a committment to remain on their respective prepaid plans only for at least a year. Normally this is stated on the outside of the box. They are not sold or supported in Sprint stores either (Rep knows nothing as usual - many like trying to pass all their problems over onto the stores).

Same thing is true of other carriers with their prepaid brands such as Metro in the case of TMobile. etc. Try moving a Metro phone onto TMobile or asking a TMobile store to give you a replacement for a Metro phone.
Thanks for clearing this up I see all the info now. However how come I'm seeing threads of people buying the boost mobile Motorola play 6 and activating? Do those phones work?

Any good deals out there for a phone that would work on this plan?
You could BYOD a crap phone and then create a 2nd Sprint line for the $300 off Best Buy S9 promo for $492, cancel it, and move it over to the BYOD.

Otherwise look into some Galaxy S7's for $150-200 and take it to a Samsung store and get the battery replaced.

That is working right now for that one phone right now if you call in but it is an exception and could die any time.
That also happened one single time for iPhone SE but that one died in a few weeks.

Most probably there is a secret unpublished exception for that one phone which could be for any reason such as
- Sprint IS selling these somewhere unpublished to some postpaid customers for some reason and they cannibilized their Boost supply to do so.
- maybe they promised Moto these would only be sold Prepaid at this price point and are cheating to make quota
- regular Moto G6 (non-Play) stock will not be avaiable until early June

No matter, buy one and activate it if you want while you can if you can (no guarantees at all that you can). With wifi calling working finally in this model this makes it very attractive relative to earlier models. Maybe that is why they are allowing them for now while waiting for the non-Play models due out in 2 weeks.

Post-edit to anyone else reading this: It always required calling in to succeed, online activation never worked for this loophole. And there are later posts saying it may no longer work. YMMV. Read the later posts in this thread (and earlier ones) for updates as to whether it still works at all.

How long did you wait after activating to submit the unlock request?

Wow, it gets better and better. So when you inserted the Verizon sim card, could you tell if everything works on Verizon, voice and data? Does it appear the phone has both cdma and gsm radios?
