Should be ok as long as they do not change policies while you wait, which is relatively unlikely.

You don't need to wait for the sim, just call and provide the phone information and hopefully they will activate it. I would not offer any information about the phone. If they ask, tell them it's a Sprint Motorola phone and you don't know the model.

Maybe he does not even need to call.

How to you activate after you sign up online? I think it is just some URL.
When I activated my first line last year, I called after receiving the sim card. I also called when I added my second phone.

In that case yes he should just be able to call without hopefully having a second credit check.

They will not know or care that the sim they sent is not what he is using.

No end date has been announced but some time in July looks like one plausible choice. It could be cut off any time.

Reading all these comments about the G6... I just bought the Boost version. Am I still ok to use it on this plan?
I would activate in the morning. I don't think waiting for SIM will help. Since you said G6 Boost, I'll assume you mean the G6 Play, and not the unlocked G6 (better specs) and I think Boost only has the G6 Play and not the G6. The included sim should be fine, only unlocked G6 needs to order a sim.

New account needs to be created, I don't see anything in my account to make a free line. Each line I added needed to be created by a person on the phone. They were able to add my phone to the line, most without issues.

On an existing line I tried to swap to the G6 Play but no success and needed to do online chat, the final step of switching actually says to use online chat to complete. So he could probably call or use online chat, but I don't think he can activate it himself.

I know all those things having created accounts, added lines, and done swaps myself, but all done after initially calling in, like you.

I was asking about his case where he has already created the account and line by signing up using the web in his case.

I have never signed up that way but I seem to recall other posters say that when you sign up over the web, as he did, they ship you a link to click and that is all that is needed.

I think it had the link had the word activate in it. I think people said you do not need to call in that case since the account was already set up and that if you did call sometimes they started over again from scratch.

Ahh, I see. I never done it that way. Maybe the activate link works totally differently? I guess the biggest difference is that they already have the IMEI and entered into the system, and since Sprint is sending a SIM they already know the ICCIID and probably entered into their system, so maybe in this case he might need to wait for the sim and use the activation link, and the phone is already all registered into the system? Or can have an rep change the ICCID to match the current one in the phone to activate.

Waiting is probably the easiest at this point.

My current BYOD deal from last year is coming to an end. Anyone had any luck extending it? My kids are on these lines now and I'm not paying $100/month for 2 lines for them. Do I need to port out and then back in? I see 45 days mentioned. Can I just port out and then have my wife sign up for 2 new accounts and port them back in?
