People recommend using the hex one.
freddiez says do not open the box and I agree.
Too late on not opening the box. Have the phone charging. Not worried about it since BB has a 14 day return policy on cell phones. Thanks again.

BestBuy? I think it is $80 at Walmart.

See https://brickseek.com/walmart-inv...=247042233

Maybe Best Buy will match that after the fact?

Finished signing up today. No issues at all. Used my pixel 2 xl, original xl, and Moto g6 play from Walmart. They never questioned the play at all. Activated without question. Awesome.

All the Walmart's in my area are OOS, just one says limited supply quantity 0. I'm assuming BB still does a 30 day price match.

You should be able to just port it out.

I have not done exactly that but some people have posted that they did so and that the second number just floated up to replace it. Some have opined that it may be risky but I think they have been disproved.

You could also swap numbers between two lines - I have done that with support - and then port out later

Do not call TeleSales or they will tell you that you cannot do it (which is what they say to any difficult question of this nature to get rid of you). They are not in charge of cancellations or port-outs, just of adding new lines.

If you really want to talk to someone you can talk to Account Services (which is not the same as Support) but you risk that they may tell you no too and annotate your account to that effect. So I would just port out the number. You can always later claim it was a mistake (but I do not think you will need to).

Porting out the first (or any) number would be a common occurrence across all plans and I am sure the Sprint system should handle it well without interfering with the plan. I would just treat it as a normal account maintenance issue. If you try to treat it as a plan issue I think that only causes problems.
Thanks

Wifi hotspot works as well as Wifi Calling. Not sure about usb tethering.
Just want to confirm that the wifi hotspot works on the this free plan's cellular data and not the add-on hotspot plan that you have to pay extra, correct?

I didn't see an option to change to Sprint 3G in Moto G6 Play. But when I chose the GSM, it showed "No service" message.
Set the preferred network to CDMA. Does it show 3G network only? Do call and data still work?
Quote from comintel :
Sprint policy is to unlock phones on request after 50 days. 50 days has yet come yet but one or two people got it unlocked early through luck. Theoretically there could be issues because this is a Boost
prepaid phone so officially it is not eligible to be on postpaid but there are no signs yet that that would affect unlocking once people have got it on.

Because it is a Sprint Boost division specific model, all features should work, which is why wifi calling etc. all work. This is better than with many/most Moto phones on Sprint for which wifi calling etc. often will not work.
How does Sprint know whether you are using this free plan's cellular data or add-on hotspot that you have to pay extra when using the built-in wifi hotspot on the Boost Mobile Moto G6 Play?

If you wanted your old number you should have ported from Sprint to TMobile virtual sim. Google voice is not needed and shouldn't be in the picture unless you just need a new phone to port into Sprint and not have any other number to begin with
Short version of the story is I fully intended to port from Tmo Virtual SIM back to Sprint. Found out that someone already had an account with outstanding $1000+ bill with my SSN was a no go. Couldn't get back on with Wife's SSN. Parents liked saving money this past year but not enough to use their SSN and jump through hoops to get it.

This plan has 10 GB of free hotspot. If you use the phone's built-in hotspot, it would be counted against that. It uses a special API and so is counted separately.

If you use a third-party USB tethering program, such as PDANet Plus, then I find that the usage gets counted against your general cellular data rather than the 10GB hotpot allowance.

That is the same for any phone, not just this one. I mix and match both on my Samsung and LG phones. The usage gets counted in the right categories, which are separate and do not overlap or double-count.

Thank you and repped. Could you please verify if PDANet Plus still work in USB mode for USB tethering?

To use PDANet Plus as wifi hotspot or USB tethering, you have to install PDANet Plus on the PC also, correct?

I tested the network;'

It has 4 options-

1. AUTO - Everything works. Shows LTE on top.

2. LTE/CDMA - Call and text work and No DATA. A message shows on top saying "Mobile Data is off",Shows full bars.

3. CDMA - Call and text work and No DATA. A message shows on top saying "Mobile Data is off",Shows full bars.

4. GSM/UMTS - No network at all.

Hope this helps

PS: Is the offer still on?

Thank you. Could you please turn on mobile data on your phone and try 3. CDMA again and see if you get 3G data working?

Does the Boost Mobile Moto G6 Play show up as Boost Mobile Moto G6 Play or as unknown device on your Sprint account?

Sprint coverage sucks down here, but I'm getting a free Verizon iPhone 7, so I'll definitely give it a try.

Currently using Straight Talk (Verizon network).

There is always a chance that you will not be able to activate it being a Boost phone. So no, don't open the box or turn the phone on until it's accepted on Sprint. This way you can return it un opened if need be
HEX is what they asked for if I remember correctly
I activated 3 Boost Moto G6 Play. As mentioned here, dont open the box. All the informations Sprint need is on the box itself. First give the HEXId that starts with 9900 and then the ICCId. When they input the HEX ID, it recognize as Moto G6 Play and they will tell you so. They will assign each HexID and ICCCID with the porting number.
