Just do an IMEI swap on your dashboard. Select Activate and enter the new IMEI and new sim ICCID (which can be the same one if the phone is the same model or a different sim ICCID).

Usually it will direct you to tech support chat in most cases but I like starting off that way to get everything organized. If you hate doing things yourself and love hand-holding you can just do tech support chat alone.

How do I know if I am not a Sprint postpaid customer? I signed up for Sprint BYOD last year it expires this July 31. And I would like to do it for another year. I know Sprint has my social security, but does it mean I am Sprint postpaid customer? Do I just get T-mobile digital sim card on ebay and try or that wont work since Sprint has my social security number?

has anyone been able to activate 1yearfree with a brand new in box Boost Moto E5 recently or has that opportunity closed?
The Sprint rep wouldn't know if its a boost mobile phone. It recognize as a Moto E5. I activated 4 Moto G6 Play 3 weeks back. Do not tell them that its a Boost mobile phone is what everyone was advising, but for me inadvertently I told them its a Boost mobile. The rep repeated a few times "Oh, its a Boost mobile, eh? But porting and activating one GV, one T-mobile and 2 Lyca went smooth.

All the information for activation such as the IMEI and ICC ID are on the box. The Hex id is the IMEI. Do not open the box until the porting and the activation is complete.

Good luck.

Need a hand here Slickdealers......my wife did the promotion with an I phone 6 and it worked flawlessly and then her phone went tits up shortly there after....Went to the Sprint store today and they said its not repairable. With this promotion what are her options to get a new phone and not lose the free one year service? Can we buy something off of ebay (maybe a 6s) to hold us over until later in the year when we can buy something new and current. What do we need to look for in a replacement phone? Locked vs unlocked? Since its BYOD do we need to buy a non sprint phone or since we've already ported over and the service is active does it not matter?......Counting on somebody to save the day and give us some good advice....thx in advance.

Yes. Just get any phone on the byod list (hint this list is stickied at the beginning of this thread). Use the online sprint chat to sim swap to the new phone. I would specifically get a Verizon or sprint variant iPhone if you want to stay with Apple, but any iPhone 6 *should* work.

Anyone have luck unlocking the Boost Moto G6 Play? It's been 50 days for a lot of people.

I just called and was able to get 1 Boost Moto G6 Play unlocked. It's been on service since May 21st. It was simple and they asked if it was for international or domestic lock and I didn't know what to say so I just said do it all so it's all done and he said ok and he explained the difference--not sure that I understand the difference but he said it should be unlocked in 72 hours.

While I was on the phone I asked him to unlock the 2nd Boost Moto G6 Play that was activated JUNE 17th and he did that at the same time.

We will see if it goes through but will be sweet to have 2 unlocked phones and be done with this process. I'll update this when I get it verified---how can you tell on the phone if it's unlocked?

Just got this plan today. I will give the details in case it may help some readers.

1.) Unlocked my google voice number for $3.
2.) Tried to get the free plan from Sprint online, but when I put in my social it said I had to call.
3.) Called in and they put me on 3 way with credit person at Sprint, he said I would need to go into store with two forms of ID. The other Sprint rep on the phone reminded him I was signing up for the free plan, so then he said I didn't have to go into store and confirmed my identity with 3 questions.
4.) Finished setting up account and port-in from Google Voice.
5.) The rep set me up with the $13 phone insurance. I let her do this bc I didn't feel like fighting it. I have since opted out of it online.
6.) Whole process took about 50 mins on the phone.

You are a Sprint postpaid customer. It would not work right away with the same SSN.
