Good News
My Boost Moto G6 Play has been unlocked. I called to have it unlocked and they went through the procedure again. I didn't tell him that I had called earlier and obviously it didn't show up as a work order but it came back saying it was unlocked and I just had to do an update on PRL. He said update profile but phone wouldn't let me do that and I had challenges on updating PRL but it finally went through and checking now shows phone able to use on any network. I submitted request for the other one that hadn't been on the service for 50 days before and I still don't think it's been on for 50 days but we will see what happens. They say that they will send an email when it's been unlocked but I never received one==so if you want your phone unlocked give it the 72 hours and then do an update of the PRL and then check to see if it's unlocked.--Don't wait for the email that never comes.
Can you please post the specific steps where you can check to see if it is unlocked?
Thanks!

Settings>system>system updates> UICC Unlock This was on the Moto G6 Play it's not the same on the Moto G5 plus but that's an unlocked phone.

You can check this and then if it's still locked---UPDATE the PRL and then check UICC unlock again. I had to update the PRL before I noticed it was unlocked. I'm still waiting on other phone to be unlocked and I don't think that phone has hit the 50 days so it might not get unlocked until that time even tho he put the unlock to be done.

You can call your bank and they will tell you if they declined anything.

(But you are better advised to pick up a sim locally if you need one, and call in, anyway for lower cost and immediate activation).
Yeah that's the thing - they haven't. All five of them. None of them were reporting it as a suspicious charge.

I called in and they opened an account for me and told me to go to a store and pick one up but honestly, the $13 isn't worth going out of my way to a Sprint store and waiting around for someone to maybe sell me a SIM or to go trying to track one down elsewhere.

You don't need to go to a Sprint store.

$9.99 at BestBuy for the Boost-Sprint universal sim kit or, for iPhones, sims are free at most Apple stores.

When I went to a corporate Sprint store, I signed up in the queue and was helped within about 10 minutes. I simply explained that I was taking advantage of the free year promo and the website directed me to go to a Sprint store for the sim. They gave it it to me for no charge. Activating at home went smoothly. I later went back and got three more. Saved $50 for less than an hour of effort to get the sims.

maybe u r lucky..cause that is not usually the norm

another tip...

find which sim u need....and see if there is a iphone that uses the same sim.

i find apple stores will give away sim much more easily than a S store

i just did this with my lg v20 that i activated a few days ago.
the sim that the v20 takes is the same as iphone 8.
stopped at apple store in mall while i was there picking up my daughter
the whole process took less than 3 minutes as the apple person checking customers in actually had sim cards in her back pocket

Wow. I guess experiences vary widely. There was an Apple store in the same mall as the Sprint corporate store I went to. They said that particular Apple store does not give free sim cards, so don't bother going there for one.
