I guess I need to clarify a little. My wife's iPhone 6 is originally from Verizon. We switched to T-Mobile and they paid off the phone. Then we switched to Sprint for the one year free. We presently have a Sprint sim card in her iPhone 6. If I upgrade the phone from a place like Swappa, it does not come with a sim card. I will be putting the Sprint sim card in the new phone. Would I be okay purchasing either a Sprint or Verizon used phone to be used for this Sprint to T-Mobile then back to Sprint conversion.

Thank you, Brad
Yes but watch Swappa's characterization of where the phone originally came from. They may not know for sure or care. Their check of Sprint postpaid eligibility is often wrong. They check some third-party or mvno database, not Sprint itself.

Also if a phone has been on a Sprint mvno, which is common, it will not work on Sprint until you get the ownership flag pushed back to Postpaid by Literally Unlimited. Are you prepared to deal with all this?

Brand switching a Note 8 requires that it be up to date as the capability was added by Samsung in an update.

Connect it to Samsung Smart Switch on a PC to get it up to date. Then it will brand switch to Sprint when you put in a Sprint sim.

I assume you know you cannot just insert any Sprint sim in any Sprint-compatible phone.

It has to be the part number ending in 416Q for those phones, and you have to register the phone IMEI and sim ICCID with Sprint.
Thanks for replying. Just found it's N950USQU1AQH7, which is 7 updates before N950USQU4xxxx. I am using it on cricket. Anyway I can update it directly to N950USQU4xxxx?

I would just let it auto-update and it will take any shortcuts it can.

It should be better optimized if you have wifi to do it the way I described via Samsung Smart Switch and a PC rather than OTA.

I tried both ways. Somehow I am at 7.1.1 and it still shows that my software is uptodate. see the attached picture.

Hmm QH7 is fairly old. That may not be high enough to include Brand Switching.

I do not know why it would regard that as current. Maybe someone else will know. Let's wait and see.

Existing customer… Only new SSN I have to use is my 13-year-old child… Does the new person on the account have to be a certain age?

I've read the wiki, and have been reading tons of posts on this. Can someone confirm that my understanding is correct, with my situation?

I have an LG Volt on Tello (Sprint MVNO), and I want to upgrade to an Iphone SE on this 1 year promotion.

I will port my number and my LG Volt out to T-Mobile (or a T-mobile MVNO or something) for 45 days. Then I will buy an Iphone SE Sprint model, and port my number to Sprint, using the Iphone SE.

Is this right?

I highly doubt that a 13 year old would have sufficient credit history to pass the credit check.

Porting out just your number to a sim on TMO is sufficient.
You do not need to make any further use of the Volt or any reference to it during the entire process.

A Volt would not work on TMO anyway. It will be freed up. (It would not be eligible on Sprint by the way because it is a Sprint prepaid phone).

You do not need to wait 45 days at all unless you already have or had an account (free or paid) on Sprint Postpaid. You can do it all immediately. Tello accounts do not count as Sprint accounts.

Yes it does. It leaves some VZW stuff and adds a whole bunch of Sprint stuff.

Unfortunately brand switching is not yet out for S9. Even flashing will not work because Sprint will not whitelist the phone because it knows brand switching is not out yet for S9.. I think it will be out soon. You cannot use the VZW S9 at all on Sprint until then.
No worries. My is the VZW S8+, but hers is the unlocked S9+ straight from Samsung, so I think we should both work since the unlocked version should be whitelisted. Mine should get the Sprint stuff just with a SIM swap, but hers would need flashed to get it, correct?

If someone wouldn't mind confirming this for me. I am looking to get my 11 year old son a phone. I am looking to do this plan. I can get an iPhone 5C(sprint). I see that it is not on the list, but VZW is? Can someone out there confirm that this is the case? FWIW, I do have a Sprint sim card.
Thanks!

I just bought the Boost Moto G6 Play as it is a larger new phone with Oreo. And everyone seems to be getting it activated. I guess if you are stuck on Apple then you can do that. I wanted to get my kids on Android rather than Apple
