Well people are reporting that Wifi Calling is working on the new Moto phones and I am pretty sure many of them are just signing up now.

But let's wait for someone who signed up recently on any phone to confirm that wifi calling is working for them.
Just tested wifi calling on my Boost G6 play. Works fine.

Thanks.

The poster suggested this might have changed with the Jul 13 plan changes that apply to new signups after that date though?

Usually WiFi calling is included on any plan as long the phone is capable.

Yes that's my thinking too.
I expect we'll get further confirmation of that even from people with post-July 13 signups.
Bubblegoose, have you double checked that the sim is correct?
Have you tried reset carrier data?

Makes zero sense to me, you would think they would love me me to not use their towers and route calls through my home Wifi.

Yes, I ordered the SIM from them and had it overnighted.

I usually root and custom ROM my phones, so I tried all the steps short of a full wipe.
I did a reset of Wi-Fi, mobile, and Bluetooth. The ROM is the latest Essential ROM. Did the OMADM updates to get the latest profile.

I saw some pointers to have Sprint de-provision Wi-fi calling and provision it again. Had them try that on the phone and they were stumped, they told me to go to a store.

I them went back and forth on their Sprint community page. After a few PMs, the lady from Sprint social care told me exactly what I posted above.

Can you try reset cellular data? What you described is not equivalent.

It is usually hidden off the Activate screen under the menu icon.

Other than that you will have to have them reprovision the phone. I have had them do it so they can if you get the right person.

You can also try swapping it off and on with another phone.

The staff start reaching for far-out excuses when they are stumped.

Did this today via the ebay virtual sim port to t-mo then back. A few hiccups but went thru.

A few thoughts from a relative noob:
-Be aware when using someone else's ssn that it's a full credit check, so essentially they have to do the account creation for you (unless you can pass for the person's gender, age, and answer their security Qs which I don't recommend). That part was a bigger hassle then I expected.
-The porting process can be funky (mine failed the first time), but you can have them conference in with a t-mo rep to fix it instead of you playing phone tag with the carriers.
-my rep literally said "I don't have the power to remove TEP from your account." I'm sure this is a lie but I agree with what's been said that it's way easier not to fight them and cancel it via chat later.
-lastly, the ebay virtual sim worked but I'm not sure I would do that again when getting a legit physical sim is relatively easy and cheap. Hearing about the possible scams and then having porting issues I was starting to get super paranoid lol.

Anyway, good luck.

Paying for service in advance is prepaid. Paying for service after service is postpaid. You are receiving service from 7/22-8/13 before paying for it on 8/14 is post paying. The service from 8/14-8/21 you are actually pre paying for though.
Now I'm unsure since rate changed on 8/1 will they add the higher rate as an additional charge after the fact. They do this sometimes when you would have something like international calls used during the billing cycle.
If I was to cancel service on 8/20. My final statement generated on 8/22 will be $0 in normal circumstances where rate wasn't changing during cycle.

Yeah I agree with this. I didn't use T-Mobile SIM, but bought a T-Mobile account (ph#,PIN,etc).

But it just seems real sketchy when it comes time to porting. They're asking for the SSN, and the name and street address associated with that number. Coupled with the wait time, it's a bit nerving. I got paranoid too, and I think I'm gonna change my phone number through the Sprint dashboard.

A tip for those with new phones! ===
I added a second line to my plan. I asked the CSR if I really needed to also port from another carrier for my additional lines, and she said 'yes'. You can't just simply buy a phone and add it as a 2nd line; every line must be ported from elsewhere.

More importantly, I didn't open up my 2nd phone. This caused issues during the porting process, because the activation process needed to find it. So I had to open it for the final steps to complete. I was on hold for a good 10 minutes, and the CSR was killing time with random stuff while it was stuck in "loading".

Anyway, I'm good and done with two lines, and I'll try to unlock them in 2 months from now. I confirmed the BYOD plan doesn't expire until Sept. 2019, and then it will revert to $60/line 1, etc.

It is not totally trivial but you can do it later. Some people have done it successfully. One person messed it up. There are a couple of ways. It is not worth going into the details now. Ask at the time. Mainly remember never ask Sales to do anything like that. Do it with tech. support when the time comes.
Thanks for the reply! I completed porting over a new number from Google Voice today. Service in my area appears good so I will likely look to port my existing AT&T number to my Sprint account at the end of the month (and paying off my AT&T phone one month early). What process do I need to follow to ensure that the free unlimited promo is not removed from my account when porting over my AT&T #? This thread is lengthy so I wasn't able to easily come across the directions if it was covered in a previous post.

All I know is my first bill was due 7 days before my first month of service was complete and my final bill generated 4 days after account closed(billing cycle end) was $0.
I also just checked a bill where I added a line during the billing cycle and for that line it shows 2 charges for that line, 1 for 3 days and 1 for next month. Now being on free plan they were offset by the autopay discount but they were itemized as 2 charges.

From bill
