Sure you can do that. I would do it with Account Services at the number I posted, not with Support. Support is for minor support issues, not for Account creation and cancellation issues. I do not think this is really a Support issue. They would handle it, but as a general Support issue.

In any case, I just would not let it drag on more than a week or 10 days or so while they "investigate" etc because if you let it go on longer than 14 days without resolution you technically lose your right to simply cancel for a full unconditional refund without having to prove anything.

I am not saying they would be that hard-nosed about it, Hopefully not. It depends on exactly what happened. On their books it may look as if you ordered the paid plan and are now having second thoughts about it because you heard about the free plan afterward. Maybe not. You'll get a sense of it when you talk to them.

You can wait and see what others here say.

No one can help other than Marci Carris. Account service has no power to change the plan. All they do is put in a ticket and ask you to wait a week. Nothing would happened. You call again and they'll say the same thing. Finally I tweet Marci and get it done within 1 day. Just Google Marci Carris at Sprint.

Thanks OP and everyone in this thread. I was able to port my 20 year old Sprint lines out and back in for a free year using Tmo prepaid digital SIM.

However, the second line that I ported into my new account has an odd issue that tech support can't figure out.

Line A calling to Line B results in a busy signal. Line B is able to place calls to anyone including Line A without any issue. Others are able to call Line B successfully. I'm not sure if those others calling Line B are Sprint customers or not...which could mean:

1. Line B cannot receive calls from Sprint users
2. Line B cannot receive calls from Line A only

I'm going to try and find someone else with Sprint to attempt having them call Line B...any ideas in the meantime or similar experience?

Do you mean the Sprint BYOD 1 year promo? Its not dead, I just was on it a few minutes back. It does have an issue with not being able to move forward once you put in the IMEI and phone number. I think you have to call the number in the wiki to get this deal.

I do not disagree that that would be the surest route. I had that in mind as step 2 after giving the standard route a chance at least for the sake of form, but if the poster wants the surest fastest response, yes he/she can go right to it.

Why can't the person just cancel the plan under the 14 day money back satisfaction guarantee as I suggested and start over? Account services can do that and it should be routine. That's what I assume Account Services would do. You might have to suggest it to them, which is why I put it in my post. It would be necessary to deal with Account Services to cancel in that manner, which is what I suggested. I do not see why that would require opening a ticket to investigate the matter first. But admittedly you would need to be fairly articulate.

I believe SOME posters have had this corrected previously without going to Marci. But you are right that the best raw-self-interest route is direct to Marci. I try to save that for when it has been proved necessary.

Anyway I can provide the contact info:

Marci Carris
SVP Customer Management at Sprint.

Most likely some old info is just stuck in one of the phones.

Look at the details in settings.

Try reset cellular data under Activate or equivalent.

You can Port to tmo online. It just requires reading skills.
Hodaddy, can you post how to port online? I would be happy to use my rudimentary reading skills on your post. Or can you or somebody else add it to the wiki, which says to call?

Got charged $13 for protection even I did remove it in my account and confirmed with a chat agent. I did one more time chat and they said they will credit back to my visa next billing cycle that happens to be in 3 days. I'll update later, wish me luck!
Nothing yet so far in the fourth day of the new billing cycle. There's no charge for TEP in my account but no credit back to my visa, checked both Sprint and Visa.

Is there a credit showing in your online Sprint account in the new billing cycle?
If not you need to do another billing chat.

No, it's $0.00 due with nothing on it. May be later in the month with more details?
