Yes there's no difference, all sprint and MVNOs SIM cards looks the same but Virgin Mobile is very adamant and persistent (for this promo) about purchasing a SIM card from them. Another con for this promo is that you cannot swap devices. If you lose your phone, you have to purchase one of their devices to continue service.
It has the Virgin logo right on it for goodness sake.

I just searched and found this:

https://community.virginmobileusa...td-p/21519

not that I needed it.

Can't you pretend yout bought it from them?

I cannot fight in your place for you but I would not agree to buy a needless sim card. Ask them what you would do once you had the sim card. It's probably just a web page. Then just go directly there.

Many Sprint reps pull this stunt too ("you have to buy a sim card") and we just ignore it here on Sprint and tell them we already bought it etc.

I am using iPhone SE (A1662 Model but it is unlocked and eligible for Sprint activation also, and eligible on Virgin Mobile website also for $1/month), on Ting's Website says I have 2 compartible SIMs - SIMOLW506TC and SIMOLW416C. I am using Virgin BYOD Kit (which was free last year for limited time), it is SIMOLW416C model.

The first 2 pictures are of my SIM Kit (first picture I stole from eBay, because I don't know how to edit pictures on my chromebook, but it is same SIMOLW416C model and barcode says 854798005095), but they suggest I should get the 3rd picture one
Yes yours would be fine. I would go to their Twitter site and complain or just tell them to try yours.

They are not entitled to ignore the Virgin logo.

But odds are it is just stupid reps anyway, not an actual policy. If you keep trying you should get one that will know better. Tell them you want to at least TRY the one you have.

The 416C is compatible you can use Tello byod checker to check both Imei and Iccid(of course don't sign up).

If your phone is compatible with Sprint, you can get a T-Mobile "digital sim." (see the wiki) Activate it on a T-Mobile Pay As You Go plan for free and they'll give you a phone number with no phone required (Just tell them you gave not received the phone yet.) You will then have an active T-Mobile number that you can port to Sprint with a compatible device.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Phone-nu...3097985035

For $4.25 they will send you account number + PIN + Tmobile phone number to port to Sprint, if you want cheaper than that you can try Google Voice number, it costs $3 -
https://www.google.com/voice/unlock. If you want even cheaper, you can FreedomPop, order a cheap penny SIM and get port out info but make sure you cancel before 14 Days (from shipment date not receiving)

For those with the Boost Mobile Moto G6 Play...

There's a security update (July 2018 security). Anyone update yet? Hopefully it doesn't break any functionality

I called for termination after the free one year promotion period. Lines are cancelled on last day of service period given in the bill. So I would end up paying $65+ as my last bill.

Looks like this promotion has ended and only one free line per SS#

Heads up for others still in free promotion period. Wake up now and check your bills to avoid bigger bills and act accordingly.
Good luck.
Just ad reminder to the calendar and you will get notification when the free year is up.

And read a little more , and ad some search ....you will find the solution to extend/renew extra free year.

There a lot of plans with similar names. They are all handled by the same Call Center so there is lots of room for confusion. When you ordered, did you specify clearly that you wanted the free plan?
When they read you the terms and conditions, and you agreed to them, did it mention the Free Plan?
Did you receive an Email from Sprint listing all the plan details? My original email from Sprint said:
Quote :
You've made a great choice with the Unlimitedâ€"Bring Your Phone Plan! You are well on your way to saving $900 in your first year with Sprint, compared to Verizon's 1-line unlimited plan. You get Unlimited Data, Talk and Text service absolutely free until 4/30/19 AND we've waived your activation fee! All this while you keep your same phone, phone number, special photos and fav apps and music.

This great choice also allows you to upgrade your device at sprint.com after 4 months. But remember, online is the only way to upgrade and continue your remaining months on this promotional plan.

Savings until 4/30/19; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2, and $30/mo. per line for lines 3-5. Reqs. AutoPay (discount applied w/in 2 invoices), new account, bring your own eligible device & Sprint SIM card. Savings claim compared to Verizon Go Unlimited rate plan for 1 line as of 1/19/18. Streams video up to HD 1080p, music up to 1.5mbps, gaming up to 8mbps. Data deprioritization during congestion. Other monthly charges apply.
Anyway there are different possible ways to proceed discussed in recent posts over the last few days.

Personally I would call Account Services at 1-888-211-4727 to start because they have the power to cancel your paid plan and other departments do not.. This is not the same as calling Support. Others have suggested some other approaches which they are certainly welcome to post again.

You forgot to mention the 14 day unconditional gaurantee.Wink

In any case, I just would not let it drag on more than a week or 10 days or so while they "investigate" etc because if you let it go on longer than 14 days without resolution you technically lose your right to simply cancel for a full unconditional refund without having to prove anything.
