It seems like there was a pretty big downgrade in terms of streaming speeds this time around. And no hot spot data anymore. Has this negatively impacted anyone's experience so far?

Also, are there ever any similar promotions from other companies? I'm on ATT in FL right now and open to trying literally anything else

Before I signed up yesterday I did a chat with them to get general info and she mentioned this...
Jessica : Thank you for your interest in Sprint!
Jessica : I would be more than happy to help you with 1 year free service offer.
Jessica : With our Unlimited Freedom Plan, you'll receive Unlimited Data, Talk and Text, plus HD video and 10GB of Hotspot data.

Sounds like the 10GB Hotspot is back? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

unl freedom plan? I dont think you'll get 10GB hotspot. I just signed up two days ago. No hotspot. Not a big deal to me. root your phone and you get unl hotspot anyway.

No. Chat does not support the Free plan and has no information on it.
The Free Plan is Click or Call ONLY. No Chat support for plan-specific aspects. (They can help with non-plan-specific issues).
Sprint wants to keep the Free plan away from its general customer base. It would go bankrupt if its general sales people were allowed to promote the free plan to customers inquiring about plans.

Those are paid plans that they are mentioning..

u need:
Part SIMOLW416Q
or
Part SIMGLW416Q

is also used with

Apple iPhone 8**
Apple iPhone 8 Plus**
Apple iPhone X**

go to Apple store. ask 4 a sim card for one of the iphones above
Charts at https://s4gru.com/forums/topic/78...ity-chart/
show SIMGLW426Q as the primary sim part for those phones now.

So might there not be a risk they would give you one of those? This may be a recent change - I do not know.....

Thanks. However, it's also Tmo MVNO, is it possible to port in TextNow GSM number?
It really should be.

Try the number in the eligibilty checker on the Sprint site or at
https://www.sprint.com/en/support...print.html

to be sure.

I've read the Wiki and the old thread from last year, bust still can't confirm why I'd be ordering a SIM from Ting, or a Boost SIM from Best Buy, etc., as opposed to just ordering the official one from Sprint itself.

I presume that it's to save some money, since Sprint charges a relatively high $13 ($3 + $10 shipping) for the "official" SIM, but I can't actually see anyone having spelled that out as the reason... Can someone please explain?

I want to renew this deal with a family member but they don't have an SSN. Can I still do this deal?

I know there are probably millions of illegal immigrants who have Sprint service. How did they get service without an SSN?

I've googled it and apparently some use 000-00-0000 and it works fine.

it is very rare anyone should be paying for a sim

there are so many avenues u could potentially get a s sim for free.
apple store, S corporate store, ..twigby with code..etc..

i do not think it has to be spelled out that it is best to get a sim for lowest price...should be obvious

I really doubt giving all zeros for a SS number works on a credit check. Prepaid services (including Sprint) do not need a SS number as there is no credit check for the service. Maybe to finance a new phone, but not the actual service. However, this offer is for postpaid service so a credit check is required.

It will use a Sprint sim, but is locked to Boost so it's not eligible. The only Boost phones found so far that work for the Sprint free offer are their Motorola G6 Play or possibly the Moto E4.
