Started the Process, confirmed eligibility and credit check got to payment page, then Cart emptied. Trying to re-do this and it's asking to check credit again. Anyone know if this will definitely result in another 'HP' sprint reps over chat indicate that I won't get a second 'HP' but going by the comments on here, they may not be the most reliable sources.

I want to renew this deal with a family member but they don't have an SSN. Can I still do this deal?

I know there are probably millions of illegal immigrants who have Sprint service. How did they get service without an SSN?

I've googled it and apparently some use 000-00-0000 and it works fine.

The zeros will not work for this - Sprint has to be able to do a credit check based on the SSN.

First, see if the other family members are eligible for an SSN. If so, they should apply. If not, they should all apply for ITIN's for now. Credit Bureaus and Sprint will accept thuse just like SSN's. You will have to open up some accounts too buida credit record under them before Sprint will accept them.

Check with a local non-profit immigrant assistance center to discuss the details.

Meanwhile, you can reapply to Sprint as a new customer 45 days after porting out all lines under your SSN.

As a new customer, you will then be eligible again for new-customer-only offers.

This assumes this offer is still open at that time.

So to confirm, when you want this deal a second time...after you port out and confirm phones are eligible again for Sprint.

I give Sprint My name again as the account holder? But I give sprint a family members SS# this time?
I dont give Sprint any other info about that person other than the SS#?? Just the SS#??..All other info is from myself again (name, address, etc).. Does Sprint end up running a Credit check on that persons SS#? What if that person with the SS# that you are using is a child with no credit? Will it still work? Thanks..

oh my

so..lets see...if u r signing up with another person..it is logical to assume u have to give details of other person.,,,,not u

also there is a reason the wiki says a spouse, a friend, a relative...and not a [minor] child

Thanks for the quick reply.
Wiki does say "relative'. A child is a relative...Perhaps the Wiki should be updated to clarify no minors.

Also, I am signing up myself only (three devices) as I did last year. The other two phones are for minors. The Wiki says: "Then port back into sprint using a different SS number (a spouse, friend, relative, etc). " /.

No disrepect to the Wiki, but it certainly lacks detail.. A different SS number it says..from a relative.. No mention as to why SS# is needed, what other info is needed from that SS# holder, adult or minor? etc...

Once your port is underway, deal only with the port department at
https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml
Call: 866-437-1818
(from the Wiki)

Or are you talking about the 2 and 3 hour hold times at TMobile? Those are not Sprint's fault and Sprint is much better than TMO as to porting support.

By the way, have anybody tried swapping phone numbers between two lines with free plan? I had an issue with older phone, bought a new one and added it as a second line, planning to swap numbers, but found that it cannot be done online. I called 866...777 to confirm if this is possible, but have been told that swapping numbers will result in losing free plan. I see that wiki says to call (844) 665-6327 for swapping phones (a bit different question), but before speaking with them I wonder if anybody had this done on BYODF lines?

Probably easiest if you have a third (temporary) IMEI to use - swap that onto line 1, swap phone 1 onto line 2, then swap phone 2 onto line 1.

DO NOT CALL TeleSales for account maintenance. They know NOTHING about it or anything except Sales.

Chat with tech. support. Yes they can swap numbers. Yes I have done it. I would not make it complicated. Just ask them to swap the numbers without giving background etc.
