I just switched to this plan from Mint, no issues.
Did you tell them you are porting in from Mint or TMobile? Also, did you call them or did online? I don't think it can be done online. I got the sim card and just need to Port my number from Mint mobile.

Ported from Google Voice and using my old Virgin SIM.

After the number finally ported 24 hrs later, the sim wouldn't work. I remembered when I activated Sprint I needed to type a few ## codes. The one here in the Wiki didn't work but the one in this link did work for a Carrier Reset. Probably because I had Virgin.

Dial # # 25327 #
Should pop up that you want to do a carrier reset.
Reboot
Took a few minutes to finally connect but all working now.

More info in this link.

A question regarding the 45 day SSN rule:

I did this BYOD deal last year. Over 45 days ago I ended my Sprint account and my name and old number was added to my girlfriend's Sprint account. Even though I am still on a Sprint plan, under my girlfriend's SSN, I should still be able to do another BYOD deal under my own SSN since I ended my account over 45 days ago, correct? Am I considered a "Sprint postpaid customer" if my name/number has been moved to my girlfriend's Sprint account?

That is not the right plan, as hodaddy notes.

The simplest way to fix that ruthlessly and definitively is

(1) port the number out immediately. This will stop the bleeding immediately. (I believe lou2004 suggested this originally and I have come around to his point of view)

(2) Call Account Services at 1-888-211-4727 (NO OTHER NUMBER) to take advantage of the minimum 15 day money back guarantee (30 days for a new account) and explain why you cancelled the line by porting it out and that you will port it back in to get the plan right

(3) Port it back in by calling TeleSales at 866-782-8777 (NO OTHER NUMBER) and make 100% sure it gets on the correct plan this time. Explain that the plan was set up wrong so you are porting it out and back in to correct that.

This way YOU take control of the timing and do all the necessary steps without depending on someone else to do them. Also all of these steps are perfectly reasonable and Sprint will be absolutely fine with them.

There are lots of other approaches but they can drag on forever. This one will fix it immediately!
I am forced to do this now, since I messed up the original number porting and ported a different number, I end up with the usual Unlimited Freedom Plan instead of Free BYOD.
I guess I have to wait till #1 is done before doing #2? My #1 is scheduled on Sept 13th.
It's coming down to the wire now since we expect deal to end on Sept 13th Frown

No. Just port out and open an account with your SSN.

What? If you port out using the T-Mobile method, it should happen within 15 minutes. Apparently you've gone a different route.

Awesome, thank you. And I will have to give TMobile my girlfriend's account # and pin when I port to them, right?

I went with NumberBarn, I wasn't expecting that long turn around, I think even GV could've been faster.

suggestion:

get a new GV number.
unlock it
port into new S plan

all this can be done in 1-2 hours

then worry about ur actual number later

there is evidence both ways as to weather or not this will end in a few days

id play it safe and do what i outlined above

So porting the actual number later on is free?
Should I use a different SSN for the new plan or can I use the same one before the wrong plan is cancelled?
