I just chatted with a live agent. I inquired about the 15gb lte mobile Hotspot. The live agent looked into it and said it is free and it is a perk for being on the bring your own phone Deal. I just signed up 2 days ago with sprint for this deal. I have read some posts that Sprint got rid of the Mobile Hotspot this year. Can anyone confirm if we still have the 15 15gb lte mobile Hotspot or if sprint did away with it? Thank you!
There is another unrelated BYOD plan, a paid one, that has a 15 GB hotspot. That is the one they were referring to.

Chat agents have no access to details of this free BYOD plan. It is click or call only.

There is no hotspot with this plan now. Even when there was, it was 10 GB, not 15 GB.

The Sprint TMobile merger was put on temporary hold by FCC today. We all know that this deal is being used to prop up Sprint for the merger. Also had a pop up ad for this plan come up while I was reading about the Apple announcements today on Google. Some data points that lead me to predict that this deal will be extended at least through October.

I've been on hold with Tmo for half an hour....just to try to add a line to my existing BYOD account. Guys, what's the chance that this is actually ending tomorrow and that they won't add a line to an existing account after the deadline? I think I'm going to wait for the hysteria to calm down
Anyone's guess.

My feeling is no, once over then no more additional lines.

Others feel differently.

I was trying to get back on this deal after waiting for 45 days. The following is what I got:
==================================================
Your order requires additional processing
It's not you, it's us. We're sorry. We can't complete your order online, but give us a chat or a ring and we'll get you taken care of.

Hi everyone, I have a tmobile s8+ that is unlocked. When I go to the app that says unlock device it says "this device has been permanently unlocked." I was able to activate it on sprint with the help of technical support after I went to the sprint store and they gave me the SIMOLW416Q sim card. The technical support rep activated the phone and I can see it active on my account but I get an error that says "Network Lock: This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible. Please use the "Device INlock" application to unlock the device. Make sure the device has an internet connection to use the "Device Unlock" application." This phone IS fully unlocked it says it is permanently unlocked and tmobile says it is also unlocked. It also says invalid SIM card: Network locked SIM card inserted. I would really appreciate any help with this situation. Thank you in advance!

The hotspot portion of this deal ended in July. I have not heard of anyone getting it when signing up after that. I signed up before and got it (10GB), friends and family that I know who signed up after did not get hotspot.

Based on the last few weeks of news, there's a possibility the merger won't be approved, so stay tuned.

That means you do not have a recent S8+ update on.

You need it for Brand Switching. This is a separate issue from Device unlock. Older code levels simply do not have the code to switch phone branding when a different-carrier sim is inserted.

You can apply it using Samsung Smart Switch PC if you are having trouble doing it OTA.

https://www.samsung.com/us/suppor...art-switch and download the Windpws version. Even though it does not mention on the web page that it can do updates, it will offer to do it for you.

That's strange. I would try again to unlock it with tmo sim inserted on wifi using the app. Then try Sprint sim again.
Good luck

Some people have always had problems.
I would try a few times. They have no record of your call.
This allows you to get some practice in sounding confident.
This kind of thing is part social engineering.

Thanks, I gave you a rep! I had to factory reset it and put the tmobile sim card back in it and redo the unlocking process. Now I have full sprint service!

Very good!

The nice thing about full brand switching is, you get every last feature including LTE Calling Beta, Wifi Calling, Visual Voicemail, soon VoLTE.
