Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

however the phone relocked to Sprint without a Sprint SIM card anywhere in the vicinity..
Hmm. That is a bit weird. Sounds like a problem unique to Essential ?

How do you request a unlock now? You use to be able to do it with chat but I never see the chat icon anymore.
there is a special Sprint URL to use for the submission. NOT the regular, Login, Chat, thing.

dont remember the URL though

Thank you, I'm contemplating whether this deal is worth the trouble. Lots of Sprint BS to deal with.

Yes but read the wiki. You can port out to tmo per wiki, but you must also have the phone's flag set for use on sprint postpaid. Read previous comments on this page.. If using a different phone then it's not a problem. Again, it's all in the wiki.
So you can still port the number from TMo to Sprint for this deal?

just wondering, will be the new iphone xs/max be eligible for this?

I have iPhone 8 Plus and Iphone X, both from T-mobile and both are not eligible. So wondering should I buy a Verizon iPhone X or the new XS/Max (few hundred more, but the latest phone).
Att tmobile iphone 7,8 will not work with sprint or verizon for sure.

It can work with Verizon since Verizon's network can do non-CDMA(LTE) for both Voice and Data.

But, yes, they will never work with Sprint. Nor will Sprint allow them to try.

I had two Note 8's from T-mobile. As soon as I became eligible to unlock the phones, I did via the unlock app after 45 days of T-mobile service. Since then, I switched the company to MetroPCS, then, Cricket.
These phones with the Criket numbers passed this 1 year free service. Sim cards were ordered and activated three days ago flawlessly.
'My sprint" app shows that I have a 1 year free service with unlimited data on both llines.

My home is the worst spot for every company in terms of cell signal. Especially, Sprint has almost no signal. However, the wifi-calling plus was installed automatically when I inserted the Sprint sim. I have no problem to use calls and messages using the Wifi calling feature.

Everywhere else, I measured the download speed from 10 Mbps to 105 Mbps in DFW area. I'm very happy with the service so far.

Sorry if this was answered earlier but does this exclude any type of tethering? I read in the wiki there isn't 10GB of hot spot any more.

Just signed up, took a few calls .... the first 3 agents were very aggressive with forcing me to add unnecessary services. Last guy was great and let me sign up without insurance. Ported from Google Voice, called number and ported immediately.

Quick question, reason I signed up is my Xs is coming Friday. Hoping I can leverage my current T-Mobile and now Sprint on the same phone. It says Dual-Sim capability will be out by the end of the year. Thoughts?

Unless I didn't read the forum right, the 1 year free service will be voided as soon as you change the device. You may wanna double check it.

Can one be a new customer or an existing one but brings in an new phone?
For this offer, you need to port in a number to Sprint from a non-Sprint carrier. If you're current Sprint user or have been one in the last 45 days you can still take advantage of the offer, but you need to port out of Sprint to a non-Sprint carrier and then port back into Sprint as a new customer. Details on how to do this are in the wiki.

I don't mean to warn you off this deal. It is a fantastic offer if you get decent Sprint coverage.
Although Sprint is quirky, the Essential phone Saga is specific to that phone only and it's very uncommon for them to lock an Amazon phone.
Happy Trails
