Okay! Sorry for asking, but what's the reasoning of getting the iPhone through Sprint? I thought savings applied as bill credit.
no IUP is thru Apple, but you have to have an account with one of the 4 major carriers to get the IUP.

There isn't a savings...it's the same as buying out right except payments are spread over 24 months and you can upgrade after 12 months by tacking on another 12 months at that time.

That's not being rude. A lot of time and effort has been put into the wiki. Had he read the wiki there would have been three less postings on this thread which is now in the thousands.
I checked the wiki. But, it says some people were able to do it before. I was trying to see if there was a consensus on a shorter cooling time

And no way to do it before the 45 day mark with the same SSN right?
Quote from SmoothJR :
Instead of being rude, I'll answer your question.

Unless you have another SS# you have to wait 45 days after you've ended service with Sprint. That's what I'm going to do on Friday. Get the iPhone (via IUP), activate on current Sprint plan (on the $40 a month because free ended last month), then activate on Mint.

After that is done. I immediately close my Sprint account, wait 45 days, then get the 2nd year w/ Sprint.
kinda funny...u think u r not being rude, but u r comment is in fact rude

+ if u gonna answer the question, at least give a correct answer

did u even read the original question?

same SSN is a requirement.
so bringing up another ssn is meaningless

had the poster or even u read the wiki

u both would know:

and i quote "the wiki"

folks , this deal is for new customers only.
so to get a 2nd year, u need to be a new customer.
since u had 1 year already , u r not a new customer.
so options are:

1.
wait 45 days and be considered a new customer again
(some have done it sooner but not guaranteed)
now u can sign up again with your own name ,ss# info etc

Your post is a long way of saying that nothing I said was incorrect.

No - it is fully in accord with their policy. You can do it openly. This has been confirmed to me by Account Services reps. You can call and ask for Cancellations-Retentions if you want and they will confirm it.

What it is, actually, is definition of exactly when you legitimately CAN come back as a new customer eligible for new customer only offers. It blesses such moves explicitly.

I did contact this guy mentioned. When I give him my IMEI and he does his flip, does that interfere with the phone currently being on Total Wireless? It's my sister's phone and the phone is at her house. I don't want to mess her service up. thanks.
No the flip is made on the Sprint internal devvice database and has absolutely no effect whatsoever other than on the Sprint network.

A simple phone swap initiated through your dashboard is the way to go. Edited to assume your ip7 is free of any network
Figured out the problem. The phone I purchased from Swappa was still active on another account and on top of that money was still owed on the phone! Needless to say, I am not pleased with the transaction. Hopefully getting my money returned. Beware of Swappa. Not sure how you can guarantee the phone is available for activation. I will ask for the imei next time!!

Yeah Swappa is pretty decent but the seller has to disclose those items and prove clean IMEI.
