Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I'm just putting in my 2 cents from this deal. I switched from Google Project Fi and I absolutely regret the move. I have an Essential Phone and I'm assuming it's a combination of Sprint and the phone, but my service is atrocious in my area (OC). Call quality/drops and inability to load widgets/websites 75-90% of the time when I'm not on WiFi. I'll switch to a different provider when a solid deal comes around over the holidays.
It is sort of ironic but Google Fi is Sprint plus T-Mobile and they will be probably merged after first roaming on each other within months anyway, so all three variations will end up the same anywayI

I think that where you are there have been some problems getting the wide range band 26 freed up and in use because of issues with Mexico.

Finally got it done. Ported from project Fi, can't do it because the number originally came from h2o, Sprint rep said it's not in their range. So applied for another Google voice number and got it. Got changed $30 for activation? Didn't see that in the article... Anyone know why? Thanks in advance.

In the past, that's supposed to be waived.

Maybe this latest reincarnation of the offer has different terms?

You may want to do an on-line chat to see why that's not waived.

Currently on this plan looking to add a phone for my stepson. He is 14 and currently uses a verizon prepaid moto e4. Any suggestions on a phone or phone deal to get him. Thanks.
There is a loophole in the system that is allowing the Boost Motorola G6 Play to be used on this plan. You can port his Verizon number to Sprint and use the G6. When doing so, do not mention that the phone is from Boost or a prepaid device. I have added this phone onto my plan and it works great. The phone retails for $130, but you can currently get it directly from Boost for $80 and you can use the sim that comes with it on Sprint, as well.

https://slickdeals.net/f/12044503-boost-mobile-20-off-android-phones-motorola-moto-g6-play-for-79-99-again-others

Also, after 50 days of being on Sprint, the phone can be unlocked to work on AT&T and T-Mobile networks. Unsure if it will work on Verizon, though. I think maybe it can.

For A) existing customers whose 1 year BYOD plan is expiring and want to renew another year of free BYOD OR B) customers on Sprint MVNO's i.e. Tello/Ting/Virgin/Boost, the fastest easiest is to port out to T-mobile using $5 digital T-Mobile SIM card from eBay and port back in to Sprint for another year of free 1YR BYOD.

If you are existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days, you will need a new SSN (friend/ family). If you are porting from a Sprint MVNO you don't need a new SSN as long as you weren't a Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

1) First, have your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO account number and PIN ready. Ensure that you have a Sprint eligible phone and compatible Sprint SIM card (Sprint SIM can be reused)

2) Order the $5 digital T-Mobile SIM Card from eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/232903327738. You will purchase 1 unique digital T-mobile SIM for each line you want to port as each digital SIM can be used only/ consumed only once.

3) You don't have to topup/ reload the Tmobile digital SIM. Once receive the digital SIM card number, call Tmobile customer care 1-877-778-2107 to port your sprint number to Tmobile. Just give them your Sprint/ Sprint MVNO acct number, PIN , phone number and T mobile SIM card number. If rep asks for an activation code tell them it is not necessary- only the SIM card number is needed.

4) Your number will be ported to T mobile in less than 5 minutes. Your Tmobile Account number will be your phone number prefixed by 1 Ex: 1 214-xxx-xxxx and the pin number will be the one that you setup initially during the porting or activation process. Note that for each line in Tmobile prepaid, it will be a separate account number i.e. the phone number of each line prefixed by 1 for that line. Again PIN number would be what you have set during number porting/activation for each line.

5) Wait for ~ 20 minutes to verify the completion of the T-mobile port and the cancellation of your Sprint account. Port is complete when your existing Sprint/ Sprint MVNO phone stops working (no calls/ no text/ no internet)

6) Now call back sprint telesales number 1866-782-8777 to sign up for the 1 year BYOD free plan and port back your number from Tmobile with a new SSN if you were an existing Sprint postpaid customer in the last 45 days.

7) After about 45 mins on the phone call, you are good to go for another one year. Verbally confirm that the representative waives the $30 activation fee per line as part of the promotion. In addition, ensure the rep DOES NOT add insurance on your phones to the billing- Sprint reps have been known to be unscrupulous and add insurance without your knowledge. Ask the rep to notate your account that you signed up for the BYOD 1 year $0 promotion for both lines in case the rep misapplied the promotion. In addition, ask the rep for your new Sprint account number and notate this down for future reference.
To anyone who's tried this method, is there absolutely no fee required when calling in to port a number to the digital sim? Quoted post says no, but I've seen a few conflicting reports. I checked with a seller (see link below), and I was told that there may be a $3 pay-as-you-go fee upon setup. Numberbarn said the same thing, plus that there's a chance of a required $10 top-up. That can add up if you're porting multiple numbers.

I see other sellers offering the same product (unactivated sim, no activation code) in the $3-$4 range. Any difference vs what ultrasoul listed? Example:

I ported three lines with the T-Mobile digital sims from eBay. There was no additional cost. I specifically told T-Mobile that I just wanted to port my line over before I got charged another month from my current carrier (which was Tello - a Sprint MVNO) and I did not yet have my T-Mobile compatible device in-hand. I also said that I would add pay-as-you-go credit online when I received the device. They didn't seem to have a problem with that and I was not charged a cent. But even if it was $50 to port in a line, I'd still do it for a free year of service.

It is waived for this offer. They just lost track in your case that the complicated port in was for this offer.

Chat will refund it on request.

Thanks, that actually confirms what I just read here:
https://www.howardforums.com/show...ile-number

However, it does concern me that after an unknown period of time (maybe a week, maybe a month) without the account being funded, it could be canceled before a port-out is completed. For a good number, it may be reasonable to just pay the $3 to stick it on the monthly plan...

Yes. If you're parking the number there for a few days or more before porting out, I'd put some money on there. In my case, I ported to T-Mobile, and then ported out to Sprint less than an hour later.

While I did want the info for future reference (should the program still exist next year), I was actually about to move a purchased # from numberbarn to google voice... and I wouldn't be shocked if it took 3-5 days to port from tmobile to numberbarn and then another 3-5 days to get to google voice. Not worth risking a good number over just a few dollars

I'd rep you, but I need to spread some more around first laugh out loud

My credit record is spotless so I don't know what's up.

I think most people who paid the $3 did the port online to T-mobile because they wanted to avoid long hold times and having to talk to a rep. I always called in the morning and had limited hold time. I did not fund the accounts and ported out within an hour.

I think your question has been answered in the thread, but it might be hard to search those terms. My recollection is that someone posted that the T-mobile account could remain unfunded for a week, but I have no direct experience.
