Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You must have misinterpreted my reply. Only sim SIMOLW516TQ, SIMGLW416TQ, or SIMOLW416TQ will work. Not any 3 from 3-1 sim kit.
There is a 4-1 sim kit available at Sprint that includes 516TQ(read last 2 pages of thread).
Not sure what your doing, trying to get free plan? swapping iPhone xs max to line?
Thanks for the help, went to Best Buy and they got it activated with a SIMGLW416TQ. She also stated my SIM should have worked but the Sprint rep said my SIM was blacklisted in her computer. But regardless I got my XS working on the BYOD plan.

Also someone asked me about how to avoid the activation fee. When I swap a phone that is paid in full and -not- purchased from sprint (two ex-Verizon, two non-carrier phones so far) I do not get charged an activation fee. If I were to have purchased the Sprint model iPhone XS from Sprint or even Apple I would have had to pay the activation fee.

At least in my experience, maybe my account isn't charging these fees because of another issue, YMMV.

I BYOD'd my 6S and bought a XS (paid in full at the Apple store, not through Sprint or financed) and
I'm on hour 6 (seriously) of trying to get it activated. They finally told me that my device didn't qualify for that plan.

Meanwhile if I log into my account, it tells me I have an upgrade and I can get it through Sprint with no changes to my account. (Just a nasty shipping fee and upgrade fee you can sidestep by activating yourself).
Which version of the XS did you buy? Sim free or Sprint?

That's great news and thanks for reporting back. It must have been frustrating not being able to get such a nice phone activated right away.

Reps to those who have experience and can answer this. I read on here you can buy boost moto e4 and hook up to this plan? Is that true for anyone recently? Also, can I port from a Verizon prepaid number? I did a thread search and it was hundreds of posts of unrelated questions. thanks

Try some of these.
1-Reset Subscriber Settings (Carrier Reset)
Go to dial pad as though you're about to dial a phone number
Enter # # 25327 #
Tap Call
A "Reset Subscriber Settings" message will appear - tap OK
Wait 5-10 seconds; the signal notification will display "Searching" on the top left of the screen
When the phone shows a signal again, the phone is ready to use

2-Service Update (Profile & PRL Update)
Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Tap the phone app
Dial # # 873283 #
Tap Call
"Starting Service Update" message will appear - tap OK
If update is successful "Service Update Complete" message will appear after about a minute - tap OK

3-Check for an old LTE APN profile and delete it.
The problem was due to a Profile named "LTE APN". (Settings>General>Profiles - Right below "VPN". There may not be "Profile" on the Menu, depending on the carrier used before.). Deleted this Profile, then LTE Data signal showed up! This Profile was probably from the previous carrier.
Tried 1&2, it shows Sprint LTE but it's not conected yet. May be it's weekend?

How long does it take for porting in a Freedompop number?
Account number = Phone number?

I didn't see the carrier you were coming from. Some providers like Google Voice take up to 3 days unless you call sprint porting to push it through faster. Check wiki(port completion) for number and info.
Edit see you are using freedom pop. They also take long. Someone may be able to comment on freedom pop or you can use search thread option.

I bought mine from the Apple store. I ordered the model marked 'Buy without a carrier.
SIM-free. Activate with any carrier later.'

They can't afford to give away free service for a year, knowing Sprint they're up to something!
As it says, Promotion may end at any time, so that means either pay up or lose your service in 4 months when they decide this is costing them 32 cents a share on their quarterly profit in December.

Many are on 2nd year. They may stop taking new subscribers at any time but I fully expect they will honor the one year TOS

Thanks. I'm wondering since there is no carrier difference in the new iphones, I should get the Sprint version XS or Max from Apple and the SIM should be included.

Am I reading correctly that Sprint can't do voice and data at the same time? If so, does that mean I can't, say, call an Uber passenger while I'm using the app?

you read wrong....

If you have correct phone can do VoLTE on Sprint, then you would be able to surf while on the call..
my moto Z2 force works fine to make call and surfing, my LG G6 cannot

If you get the Sprint version (regardless of from Sprint or Apple), you will pay the $30 activation fee.
