So, u gotta pay the fee+tax for around $5/month with AutoPay ?
Admin fee plus tax averages < $3 per month. $5 monthly is waived through autopay. It's in the wiki and TOS

I'm looking for app to let me do this on unjailbroken phone
My phone is android, not rooted, it works fine with pdanet+. It's effectively an app shim proxy, that wouldn't require special root privileges. Not sure how that works on an apple device.

I'm a little late to the party but just signed up 2 phones, a Galaxy S6 and S7 via the phone number from the wiki without a problem. Both phones were originally purchased from Sprint. Even though the checker said the S6 was not eligible, I knew from reading the wiki that it should work. Followed the instructions in the wiki, declined the insurance that was offered and had my account set up with 2 lines. Took a bit longer than normal for my numbers to port over from Unreal mobile, but I think that was because it was a weekend when I initiated everything. (Unreal mobile doesn't operate on weekends, go figure)

Did a speed test, and I am getting 80Mbps down and about 2Mbps up on band 41. Video on my phone is fine as well as streaming music. Got wifi calling set up on the S7 and will hopefully have wifi calling set up on my wife's S6 later today. Also had to set up auto pay online, even though I thought I had it set up with the phone rep when I set up my initial account. People should probably check on that once they get their account set up online.

After checking online, everything on my account looks good as far as what plan I am on and what I should be charged. Looking forward to basically a free year of cell service.

phones from big sellers are mostly repaired or refurbished. So some parts like screens and batteries are not apple parts. Rather cheap copies.
They sell them as new other.
how many times has this happened tp you ?

I had the issue with port out a google voice number and can't receive normal text message from Verizon and att user. It's a common problem to port out a google number. Ask for Sprint network team and let them create a ticket for you. Wait for couple days they probably rebroadcast the number no longer belong to google but to sprint. It will start to work again.
This happened to me... with pixel 2, ported to google voice and then to sprint. Now I can no longer receive texts from verizon customers, although they can receive my texts and calls. It's an open ticket with the Sprint engineering team, but has taken more than a week and no resolution.

Thoughts? What are my options here? If I just get a new device, they said I would just have the same issue.

I am told by the sprint rep that taxes/surcharge/fees will be applied even though in fine print it says its waived. I moved only 1 device under this BYOD, do i still have to pay 4$ in taxes/surcharge each month even though i have ebill and auto pay enabled?

This comes up all the time. You just need to do Chat with Project Fi tech. support (you do not need to be a current customer) and ask them to set the mvno flag to SPCS so that the phone can be used on Sprint Postpaid. They will do it inside 30 seconds, then and there. Then it will be eligible immediately.
Switched to Project Fi just under a month ago, so far not impressed data service I'm receiving. I've check my phone (Unlocked Moto G6) eligibility for this promo and like others it says it's not eligible. Just confirming that if I do the above, it will then show it as eligible?

that sucks. sorry u had bad experience.
to address a few points u have made.

1. i would say S is about 90% as good as the others.
so anyone joining S should make sure service works.
just like anyone joing V, ATT or TM.

(for me TM does not work in my home or business..so regardless if free or not..i am not gonna be a tM customer)

2. myself S customer 17 + years. S works great in my home and business. TBH, i have never felt the need to talk/surf at same time. But clearly that is important to u. so i would get a carrier that allows that.

3. when u get this plan, it is upon u to know exactly what u can and can not do. it doesnt look like u did u homework on this and tried to do something in store. naturally as u found out = big mistake.

4. my bill is same every month. sure they may have raised the Admin fee from $2 to $2.50.

but consistently i pay $2.90

in any ..best of luck to u ..where ever u go..
curious which state and city are you located? you only pay 2.90 and no other state taxes?

In your case, since you are currently on Fi, you will have to BOTH (1) get it off Fi AND (2) get Fi to allow it to go on Sprint Postpaid by flipping the flag, and then, yes, it will be eligible.

Well, it's digital SIM card. So I think you will get it via email.

What the heck difference does it make? I live in a high tax state. I'm paying $4.09 for the free service, so, I dunno, maybe that extra $1.19 really does affect someones lifestyle.
