Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

No watch and no iPad either in case that's your next question.

But promised to be credited back within 2 or 3 billing cycles, right?

Using phone signups, which I always do, I have never seen an activation fee appear at all, even temporarily, and I have done 8 or 9 of them.

Is it the case that these (temporary) activation fees always show up on online sign-ups, but usually not for phoned-in sign-ups?
For phone sign ups, reps always discount the activation fees and doesn't show up in the bill. I am trying to find out where it says that the activation fee will be credited back in 2 or 3 billing cycles. Any pointers would be helpful

sounds like your phone has a broken antenna.
Perhaps, but if that were the case it would never or barely work. It does work, just not consistently. Plus, even if it is this, that means I needed a new phone anyway, plus we get a better deal with TM with the 55+ plan. TM also has better service, and in any case it'll be one company in a few years. So, whatever the reason, I believe we made the right move. 20 years with one dying carrier is enough.

Well, I already said I switched from Sprint to TM. The Sprint phones were Galaxy Grand Primes, the TMs a J7 & J3. The low end of the Galaxy line but more than good enough for our needs. It's not the phones, though, it's the service. Sprint just doesn't have enough towers, and good enough equipment at the towers it does have, nor the capital to increase and improve either, to provide good service across a given region. That's why TM is acquiring it, because it can't survive much longer on its own. It's the Sears of cellular carriers. I assume TM wants it for what equipment and towers it does have, but especially for its customers and licenses. Properly capitalized, it'll probably become the #1 carrier.
OK I agree Sprint Galaxy Prime should have performed ok.
Definitely Sprint is weak in some areas.

Has anyone been able to add a line? Whenever I try to add a line it changes the plan back to $60 per month.

You cannot add lines yourself.

To add an additional line, you have to call the number that ends in 8777 and port in a number from a non-Sprint carrier, as noted in the Wiki.

If you are adding it yourself by logging into the account, it will not work. You must call the number in the original post for the dedicated team to add it for you.

Well, like all previous Sprint phones I've had, it performed well for the first year or so, then service steadily went downhill. No way to tell if it was the model, the actual unit I had, Sprint service where I used it, or perhaps some errant app or malware I couldn't track down (I've long suspected the Dunkin Donuts app of misbehaving and causing problems with signals).

In any case, it was time for new phones, and I decided to go with TM to make a clean break. The plan we have with TM is better than the one we had with Sprint, with unlimited data, and $14 cheaper. So far both the phones and service have been great. But time will tell.
