Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Many thanks for your insights.
I was wondering what kind/quality of phones that will be offered to you once the period is up...
Quote from freddiez :
These are specific deals and BYOD accounts are eligible after 120 days. You'll see a purple Banner on your mySprint app stating eligibility to upgrade.
The essential phone mentioned was a year ago and long gone. The most recent was a moto Z2 Force for $120.
You will not be eligible for the frequent promotions directed at new customers. eg. LG V30+ $5 per month and others.
Set SD alert for Sprint phones. Another deal will come your way. Do be sure to stay out of Sprint store. Also don't push a deal through via normal telesales that you know you're not eligible for or you'll lose the BYOD. Some common sense goes a long way

Samsung just released brand-switching for S9, and a long time ago for S8 and then later for Note 8, but not yet for branded Note 9 at last report.

Once Samsung releases brand-switching for Note 9, Sprint will enable it in its database.

Please someone help me here.

I have activated the 1year plan with an unlocked Moto E4. Now I want to swap for an iPhone 7 (unlocked). Do I need a new sim card and call Sprint to activate with the new phone?

I hope this wouldn't change the one year free plan!

Yes, you need a iphone 7 compatible sprint sim. You can get it for free if you visit a nearby apple store else 2.99 in a sprint corp store. Once you have it, chat or call sprint cc for a device swap.

Thank you. Does that affect the free one year plan at all?

The reps were wrong. If you ported out or cancelled on or before 10/9/18 you would not be charged for paid plan. Your statement on 10/10/18 should have been $0. If you didn't cancel by 10/9/18 you would have been charged full $60++ on 10/10/18 for service for 10/10 to 11-9 and would owe full amount as sprint doesn't prorate final month.
So you actually got 13 months free if you cancelled on 10/9/18. Some people getting up to 15 months free even without a port out/ port in renewal.
Yeah I activated my plan on Nov 12, 2017. Yet, on sprint.com it says, "Savings until 01/31/19; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2 and $30/mo./line for lines 3-5 with AutoPay."
Almost 15 months!!

If iPhone 7 is model A1660 and not A1778 it will work with Sprint. Yes you would need new sim because the E4 sim is not compatible with iPhone 7. Then you can try to activate online through dashboard(recommend with find my iPhone off) sometimes it gives error and chat box will pop up.
Tell them you want to Imei swap.
It will not change free plan.

So that means I cannot use the Note 9 from VZ on Sprint for now?

Correct unfortunately.

Probably Samsung will release brand switching for Note 9 a corresponding interval of time later to match the delay with which Note 9 was originally released after S9.

But it could be sooner.

You can test your IMEI in the checker periodically.

I would say it is inevitable in a few months, so to avoid missing out on the deal, in case it ends meanwhile, you might want to sign up now with another phone to try out the service, and you can swap or add the Note 9 in later.

Not as long as you ask for a "device swap" or "IMEI Swap" when dealing with tech support (chat is easiest). We do them all the time.

Do not call TeleSales and get into a discussion about "upgrades" because that can occasionally cause a lot of confusion.

Make sure it not the AT&T/TMo model, as noted by edog11. Check the IMEI in the checker first.

No. It won't effect. Please see comintel's response for additional info.

The Verizon model has the TMobile bands but not the Sprint bands.

See

https://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones...ic-Gray-g4

Needs bands 25, 26, 41 and voice band BC10 before Sprint would even consider approving it, which would not be automatic without testing and certification even if it did have those bands. This is not going to happen for a phone of this class where there is a specific Sprint branded model available.
Thanks so much for clarifying that. Much appreciated!

Oh my! just switched my wife moto g5 plus to sprint from ATT 4 days ago! I was telling my wife the speed is most likely going to be slower and you are going to get more drop calls... etc... The first day she started using it, she called me and told me the speed is so much faster than ATT! Webpages loaded instantly compare to ATT?!! She also experienced no drop call at all! What give?! Why Sprint got such bad rep in the first place!!?

Because complainers in SD, politics, and life as we know it take up far too much space, and breathe up all the air in the room.
Seriously.
My latest Sprint convert is experiencing the same as you, coming from T-Mobile in Central FL. The only reason he tried it is because of the Moto Z2 Force deal. He is getting uninterrupted service and coverage compared to wife's pixel 2 on TMO. It took over a year for him to try it.
Yes, there are regions where Sprint is unusable, but where it's good it's very good.
Follow comintels posts on recent and ongoing Sprint improvements and upgrades.
Happy Trails
