Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I tried to sign up online tonight and after entering my credit check details i got an error message and had to call. the guy on the phone said they can't sent me a SIM card and I need to go to the store. Does that sound right? the wiki says you can't do this in a store.

Question #2: is any mobile hot spot data included? if not, how much to buy that data?

They send you to a store if your ID needs verification. That's actually good because that is likely the only problem or they would have turned you down completely.

Please go to a CORPORATE SPRINT-OWNED STORE ONLY to get decent treatment.

Did you get the application number to give to the store? If not you might call back and get it (optional).

In any case the store will set up an EMPTY ACCOUNT (no plan yet). Get the account number.

Then go home and call the number ending in 8777 again and they will complete entering the free PLAN into the empty new account that the store set up..

It is true that you do not want to set up the PLAN in the store as they usually make it a paid plan. But the empty account is ok.

There is no hotspot and you cannot add it at any price.

Can anyone suggest if Best buy sells iPhone XR SIM card for this BYOD promo?
In the wiki i see Boost mobile sim part number from Best buy. But that didn't work for XR.

What is the best way to buy iphone XR sim card?

The Boost 3-in-one sim kit sold at Best Buy is obsolete (shame on Best Buy) for that phone.

If looking for an all-in-one kit, you need the newer 4-in-one sim kit from any CORPORATE-OWNED Sprint store.

Or get a free individual sim at most Apple stores.

The individual sim part number is any sim ending in 516TQ or 416TQ. (eg SIMOLW516TQ or SIMGLW416TQ). Maybe Best Buy will give you one in your case since they sold you an obsolete kit.

I can once again confirm free sim cards at apple store, they gave me 3 ending in 416TQ and it works in our XR, XS, and XS Max.

BTW, all 3 phones work fantastic on Sprint using the beta 12.1.1

Thank you. I don't need all in one. SIM that works with XR is fine. I will check with Best buy again tomorrow. They have all old SIM cards in the store.

Thank you. Apple store is far away from my place. Only option is to go to Best buy store or Sprint store.
I had some Best buy gc that is why i bought from Best buy but they gave old SIM card which didn't work with XR.

From my experience last week, I started my TMo port over to sprint about a half hour later. My TMo number port completed to sprint about 4 hours later. All Sprint asked me for was the TMo account "1-area code-number" and the TMo pin I had chose.
This process took me a full 24 hours, 2 weeks ago

Oh I see.
(Yes I meant Moto not TMo).

Normally you cannot force roaming or disable individual bands on most phones (you can disable bands on Samsung phones)..

You say the LG does not have the problem. Have you checked which of the following is the case:

(1) The LG does not have the problem because it switches away from band 41 as necessary?
or
(2) The LG does not have the problem because it works fine on band 41 at all times?

When you have the problem on band 41 in the Motos, do they have good bars / signal level?

Do the Motos EVER roam on bands 2 or 4? Maybe they can't?
The LG works fine on band 41 at all times so there's no problem. Signal level 2 bars but works.

Surprisingly today Moto G6 Play worked fine all day on band 41. Signal level 2 bars but works.

Moto E5 Play roams on bands 2 or 4 and works on those bands, with signal level 5 bars full. When E5 is not roaming and is on bands 25 or 41, the signal level is 2 bars 117 dBm, and I can't access websites or apps requiring data.

My 1 year plan will be expired. Is there any free way to port out the number to close the account? I donot need to keep the phone number. Since it does not come with hotspot, i will not apply it again.

Well -117 dBm is too low. It is just not good enough for a reliable signal. That is why apps do not work. It might be ok on some phones in some locations although it is marginal at best.

The question remains why does it not roam, as you say.

The reason probably is that the phone and the network consider that that signal level should be "good enough" (even though it actually is not). This could be a design defect.or limitation or because the phone does not benefit from more favorable treatment given to phones that may get VoLTE later or because the phone has not received updates given to more recent phones. I assume you have done all available updates including profile and PRL.

If the problem is mainly in one place, say at home, you should be able to get a Magic Box from tech support later that may resolve that. But they are waiting for the new model to be ready and are not shipping it currently.

Other than that, you can ask in Moto forums.

There might be a way to block bands 41, 25 and 26 if needed. There is for some phones. That is purely a function of the debugging capabilities of the particular model. That would force it onto bands 4 and 2. I can do it on my Samsung S8 and force TMO roaming.

.

I ported out my number late Sept. (45 days ago) And try to login to my account with my previous login, it still allow me to do so. Does it mean my account is still in the system? Will I have trouble to try to sign up again?

Not free but you can call (only) and cancel it since you do not need the number, if you can wait to end of billing cycle before being able to use the phone again on Sprint's network.

No that is normal.

But personally I would check that the account is closed anyway. Chat and ask.
