Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks for all the info I was able to get the deal on a IPhone 6, however I think the cellular antenna is on the fritz because it will work sometimes and then say searching. I took it to the store and they said it's a board replacement. Can anyone with experience talk to signing up for the sprint care service and calling them in about 2 weeks.

Would anyone know how long you have to be a member before you can call?
I doubt it's a phone problem..it's just Sprint's seriously crappy network. I signed up two weeks ago and using my Nexus 6P and wow, so many dropped calls and no dials. I'm in N California and even around Napa/Sonoma on the Silverado Trail the spotty coverage is poor. Same with other places too. I have good signal (LTE full bars) in my kitchen, but moving to bedroom on a call and I often drop the call.
CS is dismal and these jerks gave me the runaround with bouncing me to different reps to give me the account number to port out. I've been trying to find out my password as they claim it's not what I had given them. Life is too short to deal with Sprint.

I was with Sprint 4 years ago before switching to T-mobile. Sprint's service was horrific. Forget about data, I couldn't even make phone calls from my home. They even sent me an individual tower for my home and it barely improved the signal.

They keep saying how their signal has improved, but i doubt it very much. The deal itself sounds amazing if their service has improved at all. I only have T-mobile phones now. Do they expect me to buy new phones that they support just to test it out to see if their service has improved? Then what happens if I try it out and there is no improvement? Not sure what my options are just to test it out to see if i can even make phone calls from my home now. Anyone know?
thanks for the update. Can I come over for Thanksgiving ?

My question is the following: if I put my sim card in one of the unexpired devices to activate and then switch the sim card back to the expired device, would I still get a free year?
I understood your question, but the list of "expired devices" is not worded correctly in the first posts, they didn't "expire". See the current list of eligible phones from that link for eligible phones.
Also simply switching sims does not work with sprint. You would have to swap your active phone with your new one by a agent or online. Also not all sprint sims work with any phone. See wiki for more detailed info for which sim model works for your phone.

Well that was a fun four weeks. Ported back to Tmobile. In short, sprint coverage exists in Chicago. But whether or not it's useable, depends on the day and time. But the delay in patching a call through is problematic and the number of people that have sent me emails saying I'm a hard person to reach on the phone passed the point of coincidence.

Definite dealbreakers: no hotspot. No data while talking (problematic during Waze). No text messages while on Wi-Fi calling. Magic box is hit or miss most times. I got 5 bars at home with the magic box but no data connection. And this was the third magic box sent to me.

I have a iPhone 8s bought (unlocked) from an Apple Store in Europe. The IMEI is showing as ineligible for this deal. It there any way around this, such as activating the SIM with another cell phone and then switching back to the ineligible phone?

Edit: Just saw the post above. I guess this is not an option

Sincere apologies since I'm certain this question has been answered but could not find a specific enough keyword to search the thread on.

I'm a current Sprint customer looking to jump on a cheap MVNO plan for 45 days. I see that moving to Tello would exclude me from BYOD.

My questions:
1) Like Tello, I see several other MVNOs that use the Sprint network exclusively, such as Unreal Mobile and Virgin Mobile: https://www.whistleout.com/CellPh...rint-mvnos But I read in this thread that Virgin customer are eligible for BYOD. So I'm confused...is Tello the only MVNO that is ineligible?

2) There are several MVNOs like Republic, Twigby, and Red Pocket that use Sprint along with other networks like Verizon, T-Mobile. Are those MVNOs eligible?

Thanks!

I am trying to port my boost number to t-mobile and then to sprint. I got my tmobile digital sim from eBay but when I call in to port to rep says I must first add money. Anyone else run into this?

I talked to a rep because the phone required and activation code, which I do not have. - thanks
I didn't just called the prepay activation line ported easy from boost mobile never asked for payment created a temp number and set up account then ported over took 10 minutes but had to wait 4 hours for call back.

Activated the new line on sprint 10 minutes later and ported back out easy peesy. Used a sim number off ebay.

Just to be clear, you can move to any of those for 45 days. The question is just, how hard will it be to move back at the end of the 45 days.

There are a couple of aspects:

(1) You cannot port a number back that, at that instant, is a Sprint number. This would include Virgin, Tello, Twigby and the Sprint side of Red Pocket but not be a problem for any of the others (because although some of the others are Sprint mvnos, those ones do not use Sprint numbers). Actually it is not a real problem because you can just move the number to TMobile prepaid temporarily for a day on the way back.

(2) If the phone IMEI has been physically active on the Sprint network during thaat 45 day period, it will be flagged as MVNO owned and you have to get that flag flipped to activate the phone again on the way back to Sprint postpaid. This can be done by LiterallyUnlimited and some other ways but will take a few days on the way back during which the phone must no longer be active on the Sprint network.

You did not say what phone you have so it is hard to answer your question filly without going into contingencies depending on what phone it is. If it is a Sprint-only phone, there is nowhere except Boost or Virgin or Sprint prepaid that you can put it that will not have issue (2) above, so you will just deal with it, that's all. It is manageable with effort. Actually, Ting is ok too (but expensive) because they will readily flip the flag for you.

Account number is on bill. Pin can be reset online if you have security question answer. I wouldnt want reps giving account number and pin out over the phone, basic security.

Will the note 9 or S9+ [bought from Samsung.com - Verizon activated] and paid off, work in BYOD Sprint ?

On Sprint BYOD page, under eligible devices, it's mentioned as
# Samsung s9+ special edition
# Samsung Note 9

I don't think the S9+ we buy from Verizon is a special edition..

and has anyone had luck getting any Note 9, whether is from ATT or Verizon, to work in Sprint BYOD ?

So Sprint LG V20 is fine but, since it is not listed on the list, not any other carrier 's LG V20 would be my interpretation at least. It looks as if the Sprint model is a special model LS997.
