Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

S9/9+ from Verizon or ATT is fine (once unlocked) now but there is no carrier switch released yet for Note 9 so NO for other carrier branded Note 9.

You are quoting an obsolete list that had errors in it as well.

Current and correct is
https://community.sprint.com/t5/P...-p/1020211 as noted in the Wiki.
Thanks comintel, planning to buy the S9 or s9+ from Verizon n use it on Sprint..

Is the 1-866-782-8777 number still good for this plan?

I called this number, first asking if they still have the information of IMEI's and phone numbers that I entered when I bought the SIM. Was told no. So I had to give the rep all over again for 4 lines.

After checking all eligibility, and pulled my credit report, told me the 1 year free is not handled in the department and is online only. And 'great news, you qualify for another promotion which is $25 for each line'. This is so much different from the 1 year free, and I asked the rep to ask his manager. His manager said this is strictly an online only promotion and they cannot do anything about it.

I made the call on 11/20/2018 around 9am EST.

Anyone has the same kind of experience, or I just spoke with a newbie?

Do you have to activate it on Verizon first to get it unlocked? I suspect so. There was another post.

I need a new phone for this deal and don't have a new enough device to trade-in.

Is there a deal for an iPhone XR that doesn't involve camping or a membership?
eBay has 15% off tomorrow (max $100 discount):

You can find one on eBay -- this seller seems popular for brand new unlocked and no tax:

Just trying to make the higher commission. That is the most blatant up-sell attempt I have heard of yet.

See, you gave them an opening so the person took advantage of that.

If you order online as you did (which we do NOT recommend), you normally activate online too.

You are mixing together the two ways so they sensed you were vulnerable.

Anyway I would just call back and tell them you got through the credit approval but then got cut off. Or maybe be honest and say the rep was confused about the free plan. Nothing ever wrong with just being honest.

When you call back make sure you get them to commit up front that they can handle the FREE one year plan. And do not got through the credit check again.

It says right on the Sprint page "Call ...8777 to order".

If you have the same problem again, ask to speak to a supervisor.

I think this was mentioned, but I did the 1 year free, got set up, took a while... it took a long while and they would not activate without phone protection.... but then it worked.

turned phone off so I could give to my kid for christmas... bad idea.... it was dormant for 7 days and they canceled the account. I t took many calls... I told my wife this is probably not worth the effort... anyway finally got an English as a first language credit person and they fixed it but what a PITA!

Good now though as kid's phone broke so I had to give it to him early - I said, just keep using it! The monitor period is about 30-60 days.

Good to know that they are monitoring for inactivity!

Buy the way you can cancel the insurance via chat if you have not done so.

I tried this and had to go back to my previous carrier. Sprint service is complete crap. Just for reference I live in Bakersfield, California, which is about an hour and a half north of Los Angeles.

As of now, the Sprint page of the 1yearfree has this number on top: "Call to order 1-866-275-1411". So I wonder if the 8777 is still the right number.

I have noticed that in the past. Sometimes it shows one, sometimes the other. That has been the case for ages. The banner really appears on a whole bunch of offer pages, not just the free plan.

It might be a bug or it may depend on what other Sprint pages you have looked at or what you ordered or who knows what.

I just tested and mine still says Call to order 1-866-782-8777.

Overall we have found that 866-782-8777 is the best one. The other one is even worse and they often do claim the offer is over at that one.

Thank you for testing. I tried on several different PCs at home and the sprint.com / 1yearfree all showed the bad number as I listed, instead of the 8777 number.

I guess I will try again tomorrow and hopefully to get a native English speaker.

As stated in wiki note #1, your first question to the rep should be 'Are you familiar with the sprint bring your own device free 1 year plan?'
