Thank you to you and freddiez. Sorry I thought I read through all the recent replies but must have missed it. The Sprint site was telling me it wasn't eligible but it's become eligible now. Headed to get the Sim tomorrow.

For my husband to add my phone to his account after he gets that tomorrow I have to port out and back in if I'm already on an expiring free year plan, right?
if you just want to continue on the same plan, you just need to swap your current device with the new pixel. did this last night using chat. gave them the imei # of the pixel and the iccid of the comintel approved compatible sim.

now if you want another free year you have to open a new account, have to be a new customer, meaning new name, new social security number etc. (so maybe this time you can use yours). then this is when you need to port out of sprint to a pre paid carrier (t mobile prepaid) then port back to sprint.

I don't have a SIM yet, the "credit check failed, call us" error happened while I was placing the order to get them shipped.
What phone? Do you know the sim card part number? They will ship you one on the phone call or you can get one locally before calling. I believe they will ship you one for only 2.99 but you should be sure they are sending the correct sim

Both devices are Google Pixel 1's, look like they use nano sims. So there shouldn't be an issue if I go to a retail Sprint store to get SIM's and activate them over the phone?

Thanks for your help!

I'm going to try to read through as much of the thread as I can. If anyone has any thoughts or advice for me I'd be super thankful!

My husband and I currently both have ZTE Zmax Pros through MetroPCS. His screen broke so he needs a new phone asap. Mine is fine but I'd like a new phone too if there's a good deal out there.

We prefer Android, a fairly large screen size, and a great camera is my favorite feature of the zmax that I'd like on a new phone. We mainly use them to browse internet play simple games and occasionally watch YouTube or stream.

What phone would you all recommended? Thank you so much!

I tried to sign up and got the credit check error and told to call them. Got approved and a confirmation number. No plan specifics were discussed on the phone, but I didn't mention the free offer as I figured my previous attempt would have it in the system. The rep said I needed to go to a Sprint store to do my activation, claiming that my phone doesn't use a sim card so there was nothing to be mailed. It does use one, though, but just learned this as it's a new device.

How should I proceed in making sure I don't lose it, seeing as everyone is saying to stay away from stores for this offer?

Most all sprint stores will not hand out or even sell sim cards without activation and they CANNOT access this plan. Most all corporate (repair) sprint stores will gladly give sims for free.

all newer phones now use nano sims. easiest way to get Pixel 1 sims is thru Best Buy. ask the mobile dept guys, they have a stack of these sims in the back cabinet.

No, but in order to take advantage of this deal, you'll need to have an active number with any other non-Sprint carrier.

Hi,
Can you pls elaborate on this topic "IOS 12.1.1" a little more?
I have an iPhone SE and an iPhone 6s which I am hoping that will utilize TMo Extended roaming capability. Both these phones are TMo LTE capable devices, I believe.

Why are indicating that only the iPhone 8 and models upwards will have TMo Extended roaming?

Thanks!
I did not say (exactly) that.

The others you mention will have extended roaming too, at least at those locations and times where there is NO Sprint 3G .

But only iPhone 8 and above are getting VoLTE.

Right now, phones in the latter more privileged VoLTE eligible class are being given TMO LTE roaming earlier and more readily than others. They do not have to wait for the phone to lose the 3G signal completely before they roam. They are roaming earlier, to stay on LTE at all times, including roaming more where necessary.

This is a subtlety.

But it is an advantage to be kept off 3G completely.

Nobody knows if it is permanent or just an accident of software levels etc. But phones iPhone 8 and above are connected (via their newer sims) to a different "IMS Core," which is why they can be give VoLTE in the first place. So they may have various service differences relative to prior models.

Do we need to enable roaming for this to work

Yes, at least so far, but roaming on TMO is free and unlimited and does not count against roaming quota.
You can check your roaming total on your account to verify that it is not changing.

So it's been more than 24 hours since I paid off my Pixel 3 but the Sprint site still shows not eligible.

Anyone have a clue about this or in a similar fix?
