Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I recently moved from T mobile to At&t. Am I eligible for this one? Can't find anything which says service needs to be active for 'x' number of day.

You do not even need to have any prior cellular service AT ALL.
You just have to port in any non-Sprint NUMBER (can be TMobile, AT&T, FreedomPop, Google Voice, whatever) and provide a phone which can be new in the box for all they care.
Originally they had a marketing target of Verizon, then Verizon and AT&T, but this was never actually a restriction in practice.

Anyone ported out to Mint Mobile for the 45 days and then back in? They have a 3 month for $20 special. My plan isn't up until January but I'm thinking I just want to get the port out over with, would probably like SWAC rather than this anyway. Just want to make sure Mint won't be a problem.

I can't see how Mint Mobile (which is really a discount brand of prominent TMO favorite MVNO Ultra Mobile) could possibly be a problem and people have reported using it. We would have heard if there were some strange issue (other than Mint has mediocre support as a discount brand).

Probably someone will post a follow-up to your post.

However I am interested in your calculations re SWAC. My current free plan expiry date is around the end of April. I am changing my mind back and forth between renewing this plan another time or switching to SWAC. If the free plan closes by some time early next year I will switch to SWAC. TMO merger approval and closing is currently estimated for late first quarter or more likely sometime second quarter. For now I am just keeping my options open.

No - you can sign up again after 45 days away from Sprint. So go for it! (Earlier in some cases - see Wiki for explanation).

I want to go with SWAC because it fits my situation a little better. I think we talked on this thread before.

Basically I pay for Hulu and Spotify now. That's 17 a month full price although I'm on $1 a month for 2 more months. I'd like to keep both of those.

With SWAC I get Hulu/Tidal included. So that cost is already sunk, meaning SWAC would really be $13 a month.

But it gets better. My work will pay 80% of my bill up to $100. So basically I'm paying $6 a month (plus tax) for Sprint/Hulu/Tidal.

With BYOD I only pay $4, but I'm still paying for Hulu/Tidal out of pocket which puts me at about 21 or so per month total.

Also, with BYOD I can't upgrade my phone via promotion which I've wanted to do. With all those savings from my work paying for the 80% of my talk/text/data (not a device) if I can join with a decent device promotion, I'll probably end up paying the same I would with BYOD+those services and get a new device.

SWAC also will continue on for longer I believe. So for my particular situation it works out very well. But who knows what will be available in 2 months too. So the $20 for 3 months mint mobile (which I've used before) 5gb/month gives me some time to decide. I might just say screw it and keep my 7+ 128gb which works fine and has more space than I'll probably ever use on a phone anyway.

Edit to add: I just looked at the SWAC page and pdf. It doesn't mention hulu/tidal anymore. I wonder if this changed?

Any way to get the deal online without having to buy the sprint sim card? I have a few spares already. I was able to get my phones flag flipped by chatting with ting.

If you already have an eligible sim for your phone, just call the number from the wiki to proceed,, calling in is highly recommended.

Just to emphasize what Sam said, it has to be the exact prescribed sim for that particular model. Different models need different sims. You have to look them up ahead of time.

They have absolutely no patience for "trying" different sims and no ability to help you do so. If you do that they will tell you you have to buy new ones.

But if you have checked and are sure it is the correct sim part for that phone, you can use it again no problem.

Also, sims for iPhones are free at most Apple stores.

You have to CALL (only) the number ending in 8777 to use your own sim. You cannot activate online and use your own sim.

Oh I remember - that subsidy is nice!

I would go for it for sure in your case. I might get the premium level in your case.

It should be good for years, possibly many years.
There are a lot of different versions of outdated docs online. You can look at the features to get clues as to which is outdated.

I believe Hulu and Tidal are still in:

https://www.sprint.com/content/da...update.pdf

They may not be offered forever to new subscribers after some future date, but for now, once you get signed up you can normally keep forever what were the features at the time you signed up.
