Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Here's my experience on an unlocked Moto G6 that I just picked up via the Best Buy deal.

- Signed up for a Google Voice number. Unlocked it for $3.
- Called the number in the wiki...and they set my account up. Didn't push me on insurance, but wanted me to sign up for a tablet and a car hot spot. I declined...CSR was persistent, but not overly.
- Said my number would work in 15 mins.
- Didn't work after 15 mins...so he transferred me to some other department where they said it'll take 2 hours.
- Didn't work after 2 hours so I called the porting help department number in the wiki...and they said it was flagged to port in a few days so she did something and told me to reboot my phone.
- Rebooted and it worked great. Full LTE speeds and no issues.
- Set up my online account and there are no extra charges or funny business. I did however have to add in the auto pay information myself.
- This was all on Friday 11/9. Today 11/13 I got a bill for about $3. I'm guessing it's a prorated number so next month will be interesting to see how much it will really cost me. Either way...fantastic deal. Thanks to all those that helped here and in the wiki.
- Seriously people...just read the wiki...it's spelled out pretty clearly.
how is your voice quality experience with Moto G6?

That was mentioned in UltraSoul post but I modified it as it was different number for me. That's why ensuring that an email address is assigned is very helpful as the number given by rep had a typo in it and the email had the correct account number
I guess we had different experiences, tmobile rep never asked for my email address the first time then the second time they said they don't take email addresses until I receive my activation text later on (which i wouldn't get because it's a esim)

I can hear people just fine and people can hear me no problem. I have a little issue hearing them. I don't talk on the phone much but if I did it would probably irritate me.

Why GoSmart when you can do google voice number? Add any line will have the same end date as original line/account you open.

So I just set up a google voice number for the new unlocked phone, and then I should be able to port that number over to sprint?

Looks like samsung, apple and pals may be cutting into their 2000% price mark up profits to help fund sprint? Its only for newer devices so yeah. It's hardly free
I signed up with an LG G2 which I then sold for a profit and switched to an LG G4 which I sold for a profit and switched to an LG V20 that I bought for $100 and could sell for a profit.

Also switched along the way to an brand new Moto Z2 Sprint sold me for $120.

Now, we just did it for one line, but our confirmation said the following:
"Congratulations!
You're saving more than $900 in the first year on a single line over Verizon's unlimited rates, and you get
FREE Unlimited data, talk and text until 9/30/19
Upgrade your phone any time after 4 months"

Why suddenly 9/30/19 and not 1/30/20?

All information in WiKi

one good option is Google Voice

be sure to get a phone number from major city that has good Sprint coverage or u will get rare message "phone number not portable" you can check on the sprint map

Go to https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock and unlock your Google Voice number, which will cost $3 and is payable online by card
Set a voicemail pin here https://www.google.com/voice/b/0#...ilsettings - you will need this pin in order to finish the porting
You account number will be your 10 digit phone number and the PIN is your voicemail pin that you'll set. In case you are activating over phone, tell the associate your existing provider is bandwidth.com.
https://support.google.com/voice/...67#xferout

If you've never set your pin or if you want to try to change it, this worked for me.
Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

PORT STATUS AND COMPLETION INFO:
Google Voice seemed stuck in porting limbo for over a day. Found this link which gave status and aid to call in. 5min later its ported and activated ~outofstock
https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml
Call: 866-437-1818
** Google Voice (bandwidth.com) is considered a landline phone provider, and may take up to 3 days to port. If you call the # above, they will do it right away for you.

Sprint is unable to swap my unlocked TMobile note 9 phone? They are just saying not compatible with sprint network when trying to add the tmobile note 9 imei.

Any ideas? I currently have note 8 Verizon and it simply worked fine when using sprint sim, installed sprint apps automatically and able to use it on sprint fine. But, not the case with TMobile note 9 (which got unlocked )
comintelSamsung has not yet released brand-switching / "BYOD Support" for Note 9.
Once they do, Sprint will enable those IMEI's immediately.
Samsung has done them one by one S8, Note 8, just recently S9, 8 months after initial release. Note 9 will be next.

Samsung calls it "BYOD Support": It can also be called "brand switching".

https://www.samsung.com/us/suppor...S00078492/ [samsung.com]

You can ask Samsung when they will have BYOD Support ready for Note 9. Maybe in about 5 months? Until that time, you cannot move carrier-branded Note 9's between carriers period.
Just a little history and a few comments here. It is not Sprint that enables the IMEIs immediately. It is a result of Sprint updating its database from the IMEIs on Samsung's database. Prior to the "BYOD" updates, TMobile was a known problem with respect to "unlocking" Samsungs. Tmobile would routinely do a SIM unlock, but this was not a carrier unlock. You had to call a special number to do a carrier unlock which would then result in Samsung's database being updated, and then Sprint's database would then be updated.

Prior to the BYOD updates there were 3 options, to get a non-Sprint carrier branded phone on Sprint. 1) Call Samsung, 2) Call the carrier who originally locked the phone. And 3) call Sprint to have the IMEI of the phone white-listed. Options 2 and 3 were your best bet but it was still YYMMV.

Of course, getting your phone on Sprint would not get you full Sprint functionality without changing settings, as the BYOD updates do now. It is getting the IMEI accepted that is most important. Without it, the "carrier-rebranding" BYOD updates (functionality and bloatware) couldn't happen.

This question is repeated a gazillion times - multiple times a day now sometimes.
That is a canned automated email and Sprint forgot to update the date in it when the offer was extended twice.

The date is 1/31/2020 and you can verify it at DashBroard / Manage Plan / See Details or in the App.

It is in fact Sprint that enables them, by updating the IMEI's in its device management database. The fact that that it relies on Samsung to provide the IMEI data do so would not be a surprise to anyone. Obviously these updates are negotiated and planned and coordinated between Samsung and (almost) all carriers. Metro and Cricket are not taking part in this.
