Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sprint MVNOs could be Project Fi, Ting, Tello, RingPlus (used to be popular but is closed now), etc. Try to chat Project Fi/ Google Fi, sometimes they will remove the flag instantly.

Btw, I no longer use any of my devices on Sprint MNVO because how the system flag their Imeis. Even Cricket wireless do the same thing to unlocked devices that use Cricket service.

Thanks, I'll research this. I just put phone on Total wireless today so maybe next month.

Today I get message from the Sprint message board:

You can definitely do that. But you have to have your original carrier remove that mvno flag. Since you have never been with Sprint, we don't have access to remove that. If you want to send me a private message with the phone number associated with that phone and why type of phone it is, I would be happy to see what I can find and make sure that device is compatible.
I'm here to ease your frustrations and find all of the solutions.

I think I will forget that route...maybe others get lucky there but not me. What do they mean my original MVNO? Is that Total Wireless, current provider? I bought off Swappa so would not know the original MVNO seller had it on.
They mean your original Sprint mvno. You are saying there never was one but the person who sold you the phone is just saying that. It is obviously false in my opinion otherwise the Sprint mvno flag would never have been set.

Sprint Community is a perfectly valid route to address the issue but you would have to engage with them in more depth and explain the situation in detail privately including giving them the IMEI and making a case.

I do not think you have cancelled anything yet.

Nor should you.

They just gave you the port out info.

A port is always initiated from the side of the gaining carrier. (You always port in, never cancel or port out).

Yes it will have to be Google Voice or TMO etc.

Then while it is parked there you get Fi to flip the flag.

Then port into Sprint.
Okay I'll do that. Thanks!

Are these new slower speeds still good? Do they also slow down social media sites and web browsing or is it just video. And can you occasionally get higher speeds or is that just the cap? Didn't see this in the wiki, sorry if I missee it, but scrolling through countless people asking things in the wiki is driving me nuts. Lol
It is just for video.

Most people say they notice no difference at all and no problem.
A lot of other carriers were and are already using the video speeds Sprint now has on this plan anyway and call it some ridiculous name like "optimized" video.

Awesome, thank you for the response. This thread looks to be very helpful to everyone, it's nice to see.

I purchased a new DuraXT in a factory sealed box 5 years ago from eBay.

Sprint claims it was "stolen" & will never be activated on any post or prepaid plan.

My dad's fav phone, it continues to work flawlessly on a Sprint MVNO to this day with a $9/mo plan.

Once on the plan is there any way to purchase a new unlocked phone and upgrade to a new device.

Sprint only seems to allow you to purchase through their online webstore at full price after 4 months.

Can anyone confirm what they are paying in taxes and fees per line per month on this "free" 1 year of service?

I moved 3 lines to this deal and end up paying $16.10 in taxes and fees per month. Free is not really free. Sprint service is so bad that I'm thinking of just going back to Verizon.

you should read the wiki

no need for anyone to confirm that at this point

if it is bad ..i would move..even if it is free..
.thats common sense...

I told the Sprint rep what I was trying to do in a private message. He has the IMEI and phone number.
This is his response. I don't know why he is telling me my phone is active on another acct. What does that mean? I have it on Total Wireless now. What does he mean by 'another acct'? Why is he telling me to contact the seller to unlock it. It is supposed to be an unlocked phone.

This is what he said:

This phone is showing as active on another account which means we are unable to add it to our network at the time. You will need to contact the seller and have them deactivate it on their account and then unlock it. It hasn't been reported lost or stolen which is great news and it is currently not on the Sprint network. Hopefully you can get this fixed and then we'll be happy to get you over here.

Also as a side note: when you use those smaller networks like Total Wireless they pick up any left over spectrum and sometimes that will show up as Sprint or AT&T, etc data.

Seller has moved the phone to these places (He bought from Best Buy in April of this year and sold it August:

Straight Talk is the only network that was used for a month. I am still on Total Wireless. I moved from ATT network( Cricket) to Verizon network( Straight Talk and Total Wireless).

I already received a SIM and put it into phone, however it says Invalid SIM card.
Called sprint and they cannot find my account (already spent half an hour on the phone).
Customer service is asking for my SSN even though they already have it since it asks for SSN and DOB online (I did it online).
Is there a way I can create my account online so that I don't have to tell them SSN by phone?
Horrible service btw
The phone is brand new. When I ordered online everything went well, including credit check
