Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

-There is no contract. If u dont like service, you can port out anytime.
-You must have your own eligible phone, the specific sim card for that phone, a number to port in from a non sprint "family of providers"[basically a sprint competitor]
Yea, I was confused based on the order of the writing. When reading through it sounds like you call to set up the service and SIM. After reading again now, number 4 shows you need the SIM before making 2nd call and going through the process makes more sense reading a 3rd time.

I'm hoping that Sprint will bump the end date out pretty soon. My wife's line is slated to end in September (though I wouldn't move it out if they offered $25/month) and I'd love to open a new line under my SSN if the end date went through March or April of next year. That way I could do the port dance in September and get another 6 months for her line.

a lot of information to digest.

compounded by numerous iterations of what folks have already &/or want/need

best to read wiki..at least twice..to get a better grasp of the steps involved

Hopefully they will later this month.

As to $25, you can get that from KickStart if you want. It is reported to be opening again in a few days.

Really wish the $15 KS plan come back soon.
Even if it was only 1 hour flash sale on BF.

Yes you should turn on roaming to allow use of free unlimited TMO roaming.. Sprint VVM is not supported on that (Verizon-centric) phone. A bunch of other things will also not work.
Is there no limitation on roaming on this plan?

I am hoping too.

However I am afraid they may have locked themselves into a corner now by selling so many at $25 and including dealer support for the higher price.

If they brought back $15 Kickstart, all the people who now have $25 would scream. Also they would have to decide whether to offer dealer support to all KickStart users or not. I can believe it may cost up to $10 a month extra to do so.

It would be difficult.

However, if they get desperate for subscriber numbers, anything is possible., And I think they may get desperate for subscriber numbers. People may start deserting Sprint once the merger nears approval or denial because there is talk of TMobile phasing out the Sprint side after the merger is approved. This should actually work out ok in the end but people will fear the worst. So I think there may be more great offers ahead. Sprint has to preserve its subscriber numbers at all costs in case the merger falls through at the last minute and they have to fend on their own or find another merger partner..

There is no limit on free TMobile roaming, which does not even count in roaming totals. It is highly advantageous to have and use this.

There are strict limits on non-TMobile roaming.

Just watch your Sprint roaming usage total and as long as it stays at zero, any roaming you are doing is free unlimited TMobile roaming. This is the most common situation in most areas. I do not even bother looking any more - that's what it always is here in areas where Sprint native coverage is weak (inside some supermarkets etc.)

There are a few areas where you can get roaming on other carriers. There are Android apps that can tell you what carrier you are roaming on.

Good - I also added a few more comments with more detail just now.

If he has already set up an empty account with your SSN, that is ok, and you will need to use it when phoning in later. There can only be one account per SSN in the system.
Went back and different sales rep who knew more about the deal said to call in as the individual store needs to tie purchases made at store to accounts. I have about 10 days til my mintsim account runs out so hopefully I can get it all done in that timeframe Smilie

What he said is nonsense and that is the first time we have heard that said at a corporate store. Probably hundreds of posters here have purchased that way.

For that matter, as I said, it would have been ok to have the store create an empty account with no plan. It sounded like they maybe did already.

Personally I would report the store.

I know that, but does it need to be by the payment day of 1/22 or the end of the promotion on 1/31?

Which part? That they can't sell SIM cards unless tied to account? He didn't exactly explain it that well, but that was the gist. He said the employee yesterday erred and was polite about it, but definitely a bit pushy in trying to get me out the door vs. talking beyond what he initially said.

It did strike me a little as odd as they are essentially refusing service and potentially losing a customer for Sprint if I leave and say screw it I'll stick with current service.
