Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

First you will have to port THE NUMBER to another carrier as per the Wiki (see it for details).

Then, if you want to use the same phone that was on Fi, you will find the IMEI will STILL fail because Fi has marked it MVNO/Fi use only in the Sprint database.

So AFTER you port out the number, you will ALSO have to contact Fi and get them to flip that flag to allow the phone to go on Sprint postpaid.. Then the phone will be eligible.
couldn't you port from google fi to sprint directly

I'm 4 months into the free plan and was able to test a Wal-Mart prepaid sim successfully in my unlocked S8 (purchased from Samsung directly).
Which sim card did you purchase from Walmart? There are many kinds. After switching the sim card and powering the phone, what should I expect to see on the screen that proves the phone is unlocked?

Straight Talk. When inserting a new SIM card and then rebooting, an unlocked phone should just reorient itself with the carriers bloatware and name on the status bar.

I ported out 1 line from my BYOD 1 year free plan as my plan ends on 1/31/2019. I got a call from retention team offering $50 immediate credit and free iphone 6s plus. he is not asking for any contract and commitments even I asked he said you can move out anytime.
After taking the iphone and port back in the line which I ported out, monthly bill will be $100 for 2 lines. Can I take the phone and unlock the phone after 50 days then port out. Does it cause any problems, he is not asking for any commitments.
I am planning to move 1 line after 1 week, will keep 2nd line till the phone unlocked for 50 days. Any suggestions..

If the phone is currently active on Fi, I believe the IMEI will usually show as already active on Sprint's network so you cannot activate it on Sprint's network to use it on this plan.

The easiest way to get it off is to port the number elsewhere temporarily.

There could be circumstances/variations where it might work but it does not work for many many posters both here and on reddit.

Hello all

I was wondering, as a current tmobile customer with an unlock Samsung S8, if I switch carrier would I lose any features /functionality? Don't care much for the branded tmobile apps but wonder whatelse may go poof.

Thanks

Assuming it is TMobile branded 950U (not U1), it will brand-switch to Sprint branded and have every single Sprint feature and app including Visual Voicemail, Wifi Calling and VoLTE (in areas where available).

Call apple to have your policy reset. Search here for my post, this is what i did. First you need to purchase a report for the phone on ebay, 1 or 2 bucks.
I called apple. The supervisor looked into it, confirmed that my unlock status is equivalent to multi-mode unlock. We called my former provider in Canada who confirmed they see me as unlocked. We called Sprint who this time escalated to the tech team, they said with certainty that this is an issue with a cell tower and I just need to wait. They stuck to their guns so that kind of left me and the Apple guy hanging. A bit of a stretch to say that there has been no Sprint service across an entire major US city for 2 weeks.

Got my GSX report today, can anyone identify anything? I'm thinking I just need to switch carriers at this point, customer service is just a runaround.

You still pay around $20 a month for other charges and taxes depending on which state you live in.

Is there a suggestion there that iPhones sold outside the U.S. do not support Sprint?

What are you referring to?

It is average $4 per line total cost - see the survey by zip code in the Wiki.

I'm guessing that post is correct, and I need the multi-mode unlock. Only thing is that the apple supervisor was convinced that my unlock is equivalent to that (and he seemed to be open-minded when I first suggested that might be the issue). So don't see any path forward on that front.

The only other thing I can think of is Activation Lock : Active ( This phone is Blocked and can NOT be activated unless find my iPhone is turned Off)

Never seen anything like that. I guess I can call Sprint and ask them to rerun the activation with Find My iPhone off.
