Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Can you enable hotspot via the ability to force it in many android phones even without the tethering plan, or will sprint cut your service off?

I just want a data connection for my 93 year old grandma so she can use a echo show

Nobody who has a method working has reported being cut off yet, but that's not a guarantee of what might happen at some time in the future.

In previous times on Sprint MVNO's, I have seen so-called sure-fire recipes for free hotspot and tethering eventually cut off after working for many months, including some of the methods that have been posted in this thread as supposedly solid. .

I use PDANet+ myself, but I would not count on it to the extent of setting somebody else up with it unless I knew that they could live with it possibly being cut off one day.

Right at the moment, Sprint does not seem to be cutting anyone off for anything, but that could change.

Hmm, will they have to continue to offer the Free Plan for 3 years after the merger by virtue of this commitment?

https://ecfsapi.fcc.gov/file/1020...3.2019.pdf

Quote :
However, to remove all doubt and simplify the Commission's review of the merger, the Applicants are providing the following statement to remove any doubts, concerns or ambiguity:

New T-Mobile will make available the same or better rate plans as those offered by T-Mobile or Sprint as of today's date for three years following the merger.

T-Mobile and Sprint legacy rate plans will continue as New T-Mobile plans for three years after the merger or until better plans that offer a lower price or more data are made available, whichever occurs first.

.......
For those reasons, the Applicants have no objection to this representation being included as a formal merger condition in the order approving the transaction.
They do say
"10 Device/handset offerings are not included in this pricing commitment."
but I do not think this offer is exactly a Device/handset offering unless you really stretch the interpretation.

I suspect they forgot about this offer and KickStart. I guess they may try to back out of this for the final wording of the FCC merger approval with conditions attached but can they now?

Last Friday I changed from T-Mobile to Sprint, I bought the SIM Card from Sprint store for $2.99. I activated the line by calling to customer care the call lasted for 45 minutes. I live in Houston area here I have good coverage and plus point is sprint provides WI-FI calling which is good in case we doesn't have good coverage at home. Finally today my first month bill is generated and bill is $4.43 with Taxes in Houston. Thank you for this forum for all the information.

Not sure. This issue was addressed but I did not see in the Wiki.
I already have this plan. Recently traveled out of the country and used new carrier SIM on the device.
Now I am back in the country and realized I left my Sprint SIM in other country.

Is it possible to contact Sprint account service to swap with new Sprint SIM on my device. Is there a problem?
I have to pay and get new sprint SIM from local store.

this plan is probably considered a promotion not a rate plan.

They will say that is what they meant, but did they say it clearly enough? The pledge is now already formally made.

They did not exclude promotion plans explicitly though, the way they excluded "device plans". I could argue that a device plan is even further from a "rate plan" yet it apparently had to be mentioned explicitly in order to be excluded..

It depends on what the exact meaning of "rate plan" is.

I wonder if you could say the same for kickstart though? It was in effect on that date. I guess that's why they keep taking kickstart off for a week and then putting it back on for 2 or 3 weeks - so .that they can call it a "limited time promotion."

We will probably have to wait and see what the exact wording is of the FCC's final order approving the merger with legally binding conditions, including this one, to see if there is scope for at least making an argument that this plan, or kickstart, or SWAC, should be interpreted to be included. Yes this could be a long shot.

no problem.

as wiki indicates :

Note 3: for services like swapping in phones etc, CALL ACCOUNT SERVICES 844 665 6327. Or use chat, where a chatbot efficiently swaps devices, with no error-prone humans involved.

get a new sim card specif to ur device.
contact sprint.
tell them u have a new iccid number
give them the new iccid number (from new sim card)
re provision phone

edit:
what phone do u have?
have u got the new sim card already?

Once you have the needed sim, you can swap it on via Chat or the DashBoard easily enough.

Corporate owned stores (only) are supposed to give sims free for repair or testing purposes, but stores are all over the place in how they interpret that. They are only $2.99 even in those cases where they do charge. However there may be a risk going into a Sprint store that they will try to mess with your phone, or worse yet your plan. This is mainly for independently-owned stores but there can be issues even at corporate-owned stores

It might be easier to just order from Sprint by fast delivery from https://shop.sprint.com/mysprint/...=affiliate
where it is only $2.99 for the 4 in 1 kit that has sims for all phones.

Oh I see Desi was already answering this but I will leave this here since I was already typing it.

Added a line to the BYOD plan. Agent did not say anything about TEP. A couple of hours later, when I go to Manage Services, I see the following:

Your current services
You have no current services. You can add additional services to your account listed in the "Services you can add" section below.
Services you can add
There are no "other services" available. If there is a service you would like to add, chat with an agent or go to the nearest store.

So I presume the line does not have TEP, or "Sprint Complete" as they call it now?

What is strange is that I do not see ANY services that I can "add" either. Expected?

You need either the Sprint version or the factory unlocked one.

I myself would get the Sprint version if you want all Sprint features including Wifi Calling, Visual Voicemail and (very soon) VoLTE. Certainly it will roam optimally on TMobile. You will be able to use use it on all carriers once brand switching is released soon. It gets Sprint updates faster than any other version.

Some may prefer the factory unlocked version for its lighter software load and customizability and the ability to run on all carriers today, but today it will lack several of the Sprint features (although there are workarounds for the absence of some of them including a PlayStore version of Wifi Calling).

If someone else wants to make the case for the factory unlocked version, by all means go ahead.

Either will work, though, it is just a matter of the pros and cons.
Thank you again! All I care about is the Tmobile roaming. It's my understanding it's a game changer for the Sprint network if you can seamlessly roam on Tmobile now. Like night and day for those on the road. That's all I need while traveling.

I purchased the unlocked version from Samsung. Ha wish I'd gone for the Sprint version as they are a few hundred dollars cheaper now. Even the unboxed new ones. Oh well. As long as it works for my Tmobile roaming needs I'm good.

I think I am gonna take a gamble. My free year ends 4/30. Initially, I was going to use my 3 month Mint Mobile card now and just wait 45 days to get another free year from Sprint since I figure it's a decent chance the promo will be around in 45 days. Now I think I will wait till end of April to use my Mint Mobile card giving me an additional 3 months before the next year ends...if the promo is still going on in July.

A good case was made that the roaming in the factory unlocked version will be as good as in the Sprint version. I myself just do not know for sure.

A lot of Samsung users do prefer the factory unlocked version, including a lot of Sprint insiders, and are pushing for all of this to work perfectly, so I assume that will happen.

Also you can always disable the Sprint bands to force TMobile roaming as well..
