Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes you can do that - but preferably by making an IMEI / device Swap starting from your dashboard or by Chat (and NOT by either of the ways you mentioned)..

There are a number of surrounding issues however - please read the Wiki at the third post in this thread to see what they are and then ask further as needed.

I completed a transfer from a small regional cell phone carrier to Sprint.

The process was a nightmare. The small regional carrier refused to unlock my device unless there was an active port request initiated and Sprint could not initiate a port request unless the device was unlocked.

To make matters worse the older gentleman at the Apple store gave me the wrong SIM card so I had to go back out in the middle of everything to get the correct SIM card. Make sure you know what part # you need instead of relying on the person at Apple to give you the correct part #.

The wiki was very helpful. Thanks for everyone that contributed to it.

Question: Now that my port has been completed and my phone is active on the Sprint Network can I change my phone number without impacting the 1 year free BYOD plan?

Another question. Is there a way to block international calls while in the United States?

"Allow my device to place international calls while in the United States" is NOT listed as an available option under services for my plan?

Go to your account dashboard
https://www.sprint.com/en/my-spri...vices.html
Under "Change services", make sure the following boxes are Not selected.
Free & Discounted World Calling
"International Calls Enabled"
"Mexico-Canada Plus"

Click next to your current number, the little blue question mark bubble. There should be a "Change your Number" link to click.

The service IS totally free. The administrative fee and taxes that are not.
5 dollars per line with 5 dollar auto pay discount. Paying taxes on the 5 bucks and then the e911 fees etc. So for 2 lines for me about 8 bucks and change can't beat that

NIce. Here in California when I had this free plan, taxes/fees ran $9.00 for 1 line.

It may not be free like going to the apple store but I picked up a T-Mobile Sim number on eBay for $1.95.

I'm currently trying to do this, but I'm stuck in hell because somehow when I registered my new account, through the "new account" online it re-activated my old account and immediately charged my old credit card. They can't seem to handle that I previously had an account. Been on hold for 15 minutes while they talk to the activation department. You're better off finding a third person.

Or just call instead of doing it online. That's what the Wiki recommends. That online signup is just full of gotchas.

Piles of people (including me) have done it without problems on the phone - as a matter of fact you are the first one I have seen to report this problem.

But do you really care as long as they give you the full free year again? Were they not able to do that? Where exactly did a problem show up?

The Wiki recommends do not sign up online.
Every time I called them, they would "accidentally" hang up on me when I said I want the free year plan. I tried several times. So I signed up online just as I did the first two years, and suddenly it's an issue.

I've been very thankful for this deal. But there are an unbelievable number of jerks here who somehow enjoy telling people to "read the wiki it's all there." You're not wrong, you just can't seem to say it without being an arsehole.

Sprint keeps inactive/closed accounts on file for up to ten years. When you close an account, it's not really completely removed from their system. Please call the Sprint Credit Dept at 800-639-6116 and ask them to completely remove your old account, then you should be able to sign up for a new account. Just tell them you have an old account that needs to be completely closed and removed, and you want to sign up for a new account for the this Sprint BYOD 1-year free plan. Hope this helps Big Grin
