Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Can someone help me with a couple questions? I read the instructions in the beginning and something doesn't make sense. It says to call in to get the deal and they will waive the sim card shipping fee. It also says to have your Sim card ICCID# ready. So do you call in to get the sim card shipped and then call back with your ICCID# or is this step only for people who already have Sprint Sim Cards? Also, when I call do they port over my number right then? I am with T-mobile and have never ported my phone number before. Does this cancel my t-mobile plan automatically? How long does it this take? Will I be without service for a while?
If you already have the sim card, have it ready. I always get it separately first. You can order from the sim card only link in the Wiki for $2.99 or get it locally. I think that is better but you can order it from TeleSales if you want.

They will not port until you have the sim card in hand. Porting out will cancel your TMobile account. It will take just a few minutes if everything is perfect. If the pin is wrong or something it can take a day to realize what is wrong. It is not in the Wiki, but what I would do personally is do it on a weekday and not late at night. That way everything is humming along at peak speed and if there is a problem it can be fixed in minutes hopefully. Try hard to get everything right first time. If you can have everything perfect that then it does not matter when you do it really.

The Sprint version and unlocked(unbranded) version should work. The Sprint version should come with sim 416TQ and unlocked version you will need 516TQ or 416TQ. My guess is to expect activation problems on first few days after launch.
I'm a current BYOD subscriber with a sim for my iPhone X. Figure I can just transfer the sim to an unlocked S10 and should work?

I have a couple Nexus 6 phones that I used last year to start lines with this deal. They where later swapped on the account with note 8s. What is the easiest method to make those Nexus 6s eligible to start new lines on a new free year Sprint account again? Will using them to start new service on that least expensive T-Mobile plan in the wiki and placing one call take them out of Sprints data base? Or what least expensive with least hassle method will do it?

Just moving sims to the new phone won't work, you'll need to swap the new phone in. See the wiki post for details.

Most likely once you swapped out those phones from sprint, they were eligible to be used on sprint again. Check their imei for sprint eligibility. See wiki post for details.

Ok, so I read through the wiki and I'm still a bit unclear on something. So I'm currently finishing my 1st year (1 line) with sprint BYOD, but would like to buy a new phone to use for the 2nd year (family member will be signing up for year 2, using same number). Does it matter whether I change the phone (to a fully paid off & eligible iPhone XR) before I port out of sprint or once I'm ported over to Tmobile?

Also, I have the Tmobile e-sim I got on eBay about 2 weeks ago..are these still working? and are users reporting issues with Tmobile phone reps when creating Tmobile accounts with these? I'm asking, because I read somewhere that Tmobile reps will ask for a confirmation code that will not be available on the e-sim

You're just porting out your phone number from sprint, so the new phone can be activated or swapped in to sprint at anytime, whatever you prefer.

As for the TMo esim, when porting in, just tell them you haven't recieved your phone in yet. Make sure to ask them and jot down the TMo account number with the pin they ask you to setup. That is what you will need to port back into sprint.

Just signed up for sprint to take advantage of $100 off the unlocked Galaxy S10 at best buy when you activate it on sprint. I noticed that I cant upgrade for 120 days, however in the FAQ it states:

if u go to apple or best buy and buy a phone outright (full msrp, no installment billing) it is yours and u can swap it anytime.

Will I be able to upgrade at best buy if Im paying the S10 fully?

If it causes a rate change - could I just cancel the plan right after I buy the phone?

Activation on this free plan will not count toward "activation on Sprint" required in dealer offers. The dealer wants a cash incentive from Sprint and Sprint will not pay it for activation on this plan.

If you buy the device outright FIRST without needing a Sprint activation to do so and without any reference to this account, sure you can add or swap your device onto this plan afterward but that is not an upgrade and will not count toward any activation requirement of the dealer.

You may be able to put it on a paid line though, even on your existing account as you mention - others have posted about that in the past.

ok thanks for the info. Do you think its worth opening a new line on the free account to get the discounted rate (Saving $100) and then immediately cancelling that line afterwards? What would the costs be (IIRC they only charge you for the days the plan was active)

edit: looks like theres a one time activation fee of $45 - doesnt seem worth all the trouble to save $55

I just activated and setup my brand new Samsung Galaxy S8+ (that I bought back in Dec using a paid act) on this BYOD plan. I have Otterbox Symmetry Series case on and a Alpha Glass type Tempered Glass Screen Protector on. The top right corner of the screen is bugging me so seeking some feedback here. On the top right corner of the screen along the edge I see a small arc/semicircle which is very visible in the white background. Is it some setting or something else? All the other 3 corners don't show this. I am attaching some screen shots here. If anyone has any feedback regarding this, I would appreciate it. Thanks
I want to share my experience while trying to get the issue noted above addressed.

The issue is caused by dead pixels. This was right out of the box.

I bought this phone back in December 2018, but just opened the box in mid Februrary. When I registered my phone at Samsung.com, it showed my warranty had already expired back in August 2018.

How is this possible that a brand new device NIB (new in box; unopened) which was purchased in December 2018 had the warranty already expired in August 2018? 1) May be someone bought it new and returned it unopened? Bestbuy resells unopened devices as new again, but the clock is already ticking for the warranty based on the original purchase? They need to fix the glitch if this is the reason for what happened with me. Or is it that the warranty information is based on when Samsung ships it to Bestbuy or carriers? If the phone sits on their shelf for months or years, you can have a situation that I am in? I don't know which one is the case for my situation.

I needed to use my warranty to address the dead pixels issue. I have spent many hours working with Samsung customer service to have my warranty reset based on my purchase date. It is still a work in progress as of right now.

I stopped by a local Bestbuy store and spoke to the manager. I called Bestbuy.com customer service trying to explain this issue in the hope that it never happens again either with me or anybody else. I am tyring to reach out to their corporate office so they can help me investigate how this happened in the first place and how to make sure it doesn't happen again. So far, no success.

The following parts will be replaced, as per the local customer service center, to address my issue. GH82-14005A, GH82-14072A. It seems the battery is also getting replaced as part of this (based on the part description).

Another headache while talking to the customer service @Samsung.com. When you register the device in your acct at Samsung.com, it uses the IMEI (Hex). The Bestbuy invoice has MEID (DEC), which they also label it as IMEI instead of listing as MEID (Dec) to avoid confusing people who are tech illiterate (Samsung Cust Serv reps should know this). I had to take a snapshot of my box and text it to them to clear this up. IMEI is not listed on the box. MEID (Hex) which has one less digit than the IMEI and MEID (Dec) and ICCID are on the box, etc.

What a nightmare experience this has been so far.

What $100 savings are you referring to to get a discounted rate? If you mean from best buy with sprint activation, that $100 savings is spread out through 24 monthly payment installments. If you cancel immediately right after, you're not getting any discount.

One possibility is that the device was bought at retail in August 2017, later damaged by the purchaser and perhaps repaired by an unauthorized technician, and finally fraudulently "returned" just recently in place of an "unopened return or exchange" of a recent purchase of a new phone, which the purchaser fraudulently kept.

Another possibility is that a supplier of BestBuy is involved and that BestBuy has been delivered merchandise claimed to be new never-sold but actually mixed in with returned defective items. . These high volumes of older phones at huge discounts may be coming from lower-tier distributors.

I actually suspect the second possibility more, and suggested it to you in my original response.

Since you can likely prove the device was not new, you could probably charge it back on your credit card. But refurbished by Samsung should be just as good, as long as they will give you a full one year warranty.
