Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

online chat said my phone wasn't something that sprint carry so i need to go to corporate store.

i went to corporate store and the person said he tried to swap my device with new IMEI and ICCID but the plan isn't offered by the system and it displayed error message. I didn't remember what the error message was when he showed me the screen. he picked no change in plan so i don't lose mine.

anyway. i dont know if corporate store's attempt help or edog11's suggestion helped. but something helped and i was able to activate the line tonight where last night i couldn't activate by myself.
had similar issue with pixel 2 xl. except mine showed in their systems as activated yet it wasn't. had to go back to verizon.

So I started a new account under my wifes name last night. What is the best way to get our other numbers out of my account and then immediately port them into my wifes new account?

My main concern is that I've read about issues porting lines into Sprint using phones that have previously been on Sprint. So I am concerned that if we port both numbers to TMo using the email sims from eBay and then right away try to port them into my wifes new account Sprint may say the phones are not eligible as they have only been used on Sprint for the past year. Both are unlocked Note 8s.

I know I can use that online check to see if the IMEIs will work for the free service however they are currently on Sprint (and obviously show not eligible for the free service if I check now) and I dont want to find out after I port out that I need to do an extra step to get them work on Sprint again as these are our main lines that we can not go without for any period of time.

I did look through the wiki a few times and can't find anything that pertains to this.

Thanks again all for helping in here.

Just did the switch, but looks like sprint lte is very pathetic. Speed test only shows 2-3mbps compared to other one which was in 25+mbps. Is this location specific or this is what it is?

this is what is keeping me from switching.
What provider did you have before?
Supposedly you can roam on the Tmobile network, have you tried turning on roaming in the phone?

No there is no such issue. Once ported out the IMEI's are immediately available.

Now, if the ports get hung up or go wrong or people give the wrong IMEI etc then yes there have been rare glitches. That will not apply in your case if you are careful.

Also I would do ports at a time when all support channels are wide open. These means NOT late at night on a Friday etc. This will not matter if there are no errors.

That is location specific of course. I never see speeds that low.

But what exact phone is it? That can matters a lot. Some people have phones that lack bands etc and only half work.

According to the wiki when signing up for tmo pay as you go plan online with a digital sim number you DO NOT have to include your imei. So porting only the number from Sprint to Tmo without providing the phones imei number to Tmo will take that imei out of Sprints database and make it eligible to be immediately ported back to Sprint?

I just want to make sure as again these are our main numbers. First I want to make sure there is no chance of us somehow loosing these phone numbers in the process and second I want to be able to get it all done in whatever time it takes to enter in the info to Tmo and then call Sprint to port back in right after.

Thanks again.

as soon as a number on sprint (that was in good standing prior) is ported out , the phone that was associated with that number is cleared immediately

Yes just porting out the number frees up the IMEI immediately. It was ever thus.

Personally I would not use TMO Prepaid because in my experieence they have lousy support if things go wrong (hours on hold reported many times on weekends) but people put price above everything which is the reason to use Tmo. That is your choice. If everything is perfect it does not matter. Many have had good experiences with them though.

Which route would you recommend then? And what issue would you anticipate using tmo prepaid?

As I mentioned you can spend hours on hold especially on the weekend and by default they have no actual status other than "in progress" which really just means they do not know what the status is and cannot be bothered investigating for mere prepaid custtomers.

Some people bully, beg, cajole their way to get actual status from the "TMobile Port Center" that Prepaid users are not allowed to use.

I have been though that TWICE. Some people have no problems getting support

Above all else DO NOT DO IT ON THE WEEKEND in my opinion. Some others probably disagree.

I used Red Pocket. Again, some others probably disagree.

I only say all this because you said it absolutely has to go perfectly. For those willing to tolerate some normal small risk of delay, or who can execute perfectly with no risk of error, it is fine.

There is no risk of losing your number in any case.
