Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

yet another cool gsm only phone comes out, nokia 9 pureview for only 599...

but the biggie is gonna be the one plus 7. will be almost as cool as the s10 for way less. bezelless, 6.5" screen, according to new leaked renders https://bgr.com/2019/03/04/oneplu...as-leaked/

man, that's my biggest struggle with being on sprint...as i near the one year point where i have to decide to try to get back on after 45 days

but if you figure cheapo phone service would cost 30/month, you're saving 360/year. so, lets say 600 oneplus phone+360, is same as 960 samsung phone+free service, for one year. keep your phone two years and then the samsung+sprint ends up cheaper. But then again I rarely end up actually keeping a phone two years, always grow restless sooner. samsung phone is marginally better, probably. then again i'm bored of samsung ui. then the other factor is any att mvno has better service around here for me, especially in large buildings. but is it sprint's inferior network really much more than a slight annoyance to me? probably not. first world decisions, i guess.

i do really like the sprint hotspot data included, well lets say i like the idea of it, i dont actually use it much. basically only that rare time my cable internet goes out at home. i looked on my account and it says i have 50GB of hotspot data per month? That's amazing! I thought it was 10GB. I understand that will be gone if I re-up though. which sucks.

What a joke. I signed up by phone after my credit check had problems online (780 credit score). They put me in a $30 a month plan instead of the free plan I signed up for. Then my sim would not activate after two days of trying with customer service. I that point I called to cancel. Sometimes free isn't worth it. They said there was nothing to cancel since I wasn't activated. Two days later I get a notice from my old carrier that my number had been ported. Sprint is telling me they can't cancel the plan til the end of my billing cycle. Had to fight for hours to get them to cancel the plan. Not tio mention the long wait times any time you call. Avoid this trash.
In case still needed, you can cancel instantly by porting out the number. If you have done so, your Sprint account is cancelled.

You should be getting free unlimited TMobile roaming with the right phone.

My Sprint-branded S8 switches instantly to TMO band 4 or 2 to preserve LTE inside supermarkets, gyms etc where needed.

This is still rolling out however and is only for some models so far. I think it includes all iPhone 8's and higher in areas where supported but sadly NOT yet in most factory-unlocked Samsungs.

S10 is included in the chart linked to in the Wiki.

You can use the existing Sprint 4 in one sim kit. A link to order for $2.99 is in the Wiki.

Here is more detail on using a sim from the 4-in-one kit:

hmm pretty interesting. i have unlocked s8 from samsung. and i did turn roaming on per your suggestion back then. i think it helped a bit. i also had a hunch my apn settings were incorrect because for a short time service got really bad, and i believe they were because a certain fw update seemed to give me better service.

it's also my work break room thats an issue with this. i surf my phone quite a bit on break. we got wifi a while back technically, but it's kind of spotty and a poor dl speed. so the cellular network is more of a nice to have backup thing, but sprint doesn't really get data in the building, where cricket had excellent data there.

if they roll out that tmobile band 4/2 thing you reference that will be very nice. another issue i have is general spotty coverage on the work commute, which is like 45 minutes each way for me. but again it's more an annoyance. i guess i should not be playing with phone on commute anyway, but i am constantly fiddling with podcasts and such at stop light etc, or using youtube music app to stream songs.
Right. - I am not sure if factory-unlocked S8 has the highest level of roaming yet or not. I suspect it does not because it does not have VoLTE and they seem to often (though not always) go together.

That is not correct for S8.
The S8 uses an ISIM simolw416Q which is sim B from 4-in-1 kit not 506TQ sim C.
Maybe he was confusing with S9 which uses 506TQ sim C from 4-in-1 kit
I didn't know how to add your quotes.

OK thanks I have edited the S8 part out of that (it is non-essential and was only by way of a comparison anyway).

I would suggest you post also on the S4gru thread if possible so that he can correct it.

The S4gru chart is correct just the comment was mistaken. I might sign up later would like to get moto G7 added as I'm sure those will be asked about soon.

Since we have discussed pros and cons of Samsung factory unlocked versions versus branded versions here, the following may be of interest:

https://www.samsung.com/us/suppor...G01001323/

I have a feeling that part of the the reason Samsung posted this is to make clear where the blame lies in the case of missing features.

Hopefully it will help push Sprint in the right direction.

It would be great to have you on there. It is not too busy over there.

I am sure he will add it if requested. He always has for me, right away.

He just added a whole bunch of LG phones, right back to the Volt.

No. If you have NOT asked for unlocked from Xfinity, your Note 9 is locked to Xfinity Mobile.

And, after it is unlocked by Xfinity, you might still need to ask Sprint to add the IMEI to Sprint database.
Good luck!
I did unlock it this morning and tested with att sim and it's working.
BTW, how can I ask Sprint to add IMEI to their DB? I mean do they even care to do that? I'm first time hearing this...

Other carrier branded Note 9 is not yet supported as Samsung has not yet released the BYOD brand switching update for this model.

Once Samsung does so (or maybe a little ahead of time as has been the case in the past for other models) , expected in the next month or two, then Sprint will instantly update the IMEI database and tjhe phone will check as eligible.

We have a number of people here with Note 9's checking periodically and waiting for that.

(Until then, only the factory-unlocked model is eligible which does not do you any good, as noted by others).

It should not be too long. It is totally dependent on Samsung.
bummer for me Frown
Thanks man for the reply.
Btw, what is the best place to trade my phone with iphone X verizon version other than CL? I'm trying in offerup and Mercari is full of scammers

Disagree. I normally get 3-4 bars with LTE service everywhere I go. For free, this is a no brainer. Try it if you are on fence.. Its free..nothing to lose. Port out if you cant figure out how to get your phone working correctly.
I guess it depends on the service, but like I said, I have excellent service on the service map on the website, but still only get 1, or 2 bars. 4 mbps down and .5 up. At work I get 30 mbps down, but only in the front office. As soon as i go out to the yard it drops to about 7 or so. It's not the worst, but that isn't the only reason I wouldn't recommend it.
