Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Did you try them on sprint checker before calling? What was error? If they were previously on Fi or Sprint mvno you will need to have PLBL flag flipped.
In addition to comintel's suggestions. You could try entering imei on Ting byod checker as it can sometimes push into Sprint database.
Many people have used the X4 on sprint. Several SD threads on X4 recently including $49 at Best Buy by activating with Sprint.
Thank you edog11 for pointing me in the right direction.

I did check the imei checker and it said "ineligible for this promo". Both my lg g5's imei came back with same ineligible reply but they worked anyway.

Regardless, it was my fault for not seeing the Google fi work around since the phones were sold and activated on that network. My original plan wasn't to use Google fi at all so when I was reading through the wiki originally I just ignored that paragraph.

Thanks for the other suggestions as well.

Warning, switching to sprint is not a task for the faint at heart. Took me 3 online reps, 2 different local stores and 2 days without cellphone service to switch. And currently an hour with online chat because phone number and account number not valid while creating an account. Lol. I have alot of patience so for a free line i'm good. But if you don't, you may have a bad time. Just an fyi.

These questions may have been covered so i'm sorry in advance but has anyone tried the sprint drive? I have android stereo and without hotspot anymore, would be nice to have all the features like pandora and maps on it.

Agent put me on insurance plan even though I asked not to be and asked again to confirm which is common. My screen was cracked already so are they going to honor getting it fixed?
Seems the least they could do for the runaround haha

Are they XT1900-1? (Other models such as -2, -4 etc are foreign and not eligible)

Quite a few people here have activated them, so the list is not wrong as such..

But there have been issues alright.

We need to know what specific error message the Sprint rep (or your own checks) got/gets.

(1) If the error was "..You owe Sprint..." or "Already Active" or similar

In this case, if they are from Fi or an mvno will have to get Fi to flip the mvno flag to release them for use on Sprint postpaid.

(2) If the error was "Not compatible" or similar
These particular IMEI's may not be in the database. You will have to get the IMEIs added. This is a Lenovo responsibility (Lenovo gives Sprint the list of compatible IMEI's) but you can probably get a Sprint corporate store or Sprint Community to add it more easily than getting Moto/Lenovo to do so..

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...e_edition/.

It does look like there have been issues though:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto...-p/4308420

Probably you can get them working as per the above if you want to go to the trouble..
If you do not like going to the store you might be able to get someone on reddit to add them if you post. Sprint Community Forum would probably do it too.

First please go through the items as per edog11's post and. also give background of where you got the phones and full model number. .

If you post those detailed results we can help more specifically.
Thank you comintel

Yes they are xt1900-1 from Google fi

Checker reply was "ineligible for this promo"

I'll follow the directions you gave if I decide to switch to the x4's. I didn't plan on using fi originally but I ended up buying these phones from the front page fi deal and I didn't read the google fi instructions in the wiki since I didn't plan to go that route.

On a side note, I'm also frustrated at myself for not checking the radios built in the phone as the x4's only have band 41 covered for Sprint lte. Which I'm assuming will mean that my Sprint branded lg g5 will get better reception anyway...

EDIT REGARDING MY MOTO X4 COMMENT ABOVE:
I checked specs at gsmarena and it shows the moto x4 only covers band 41 but this is on the genetic model setting. When I took a second look, thanks to comintel, I selected the xt1900-1 model which DOES have all 3 Sprint lte bands

If it doesn't pass the imei check, then no. Please read the wiki

I was on BYOD plan 46 days back(ported out that time). So I tried to again initiate BYOD plan online and received this message 'Your Order Requires Additional ProcessingUnfortunately we can't complete your order online at this time. Please come back during our chat hours and a credit specialist can help you with your application'
I tried calling the credit dept number given in Wiki but there it asks for credit application number which obviously dont have. Should I call the credit dept number , if yes then what prompts/options to choose on IVR when I do not have any application number. Or Should I call the main number for BYOD given in wiki even though above message mentions credit specialist. On chat i was told that its only 46 days since I ported and I need to wait 90 days which I know is not right based on wiki,Any help is appreciated

Because unlike some, I don't assume I'm always right or have a complete understanding.

It would be presumptuous for me to edit the wiki when there is a possible solution that I wasn't aware of...

In my excitement to do get free unlimited data, I forgot that they took away the hotspot ( I saw it in the wiki, I just forgot within a couple days). Trying to find a workraround like something cheap for the esim. I got on chat with them and they said they'd add 10GB LTE hotspot for $30/month. $30 for unlimited data and hotspot is still cheap, but maybe the esim would be better.

They did try putting me on the insurance without even asking. I caught it in the email they sent. I made sure she took it off before I agreed to letting them process.

You probably won't be able to add new lines starting in April when it appears the promotion is closing to new accounts.

Thus far we have been able to add lines anytime during your BYOD free year.
New sign ups will be cut off soon though.
it is yet to be seen how they will handle requests for additional lines on an existing account during this last year.

Added my 3rd year on BYOD today! First year was on my wife's ssn, second year was on mine and now third again on my wife's ssn. I used T-Mobile sim bought from eBay for $3. Ported out of sprint last night to T-Mobile online which took around 3-4 mins. Called the BYOD number this morning and it took around 40 mins to set up new account and port again from T-Mobile to sprint. The process was easy and this was my third time doing it, absolutely no difference. The rep asked me after I gave my wife's social if he had an account before as it was showing it their system, I said yes it was from a couple years back. They asked if I knew the PIN, I said yes and gave them the PIN, after few mins they approved it. They also added sprint insurance and I didn't not argue as it could be easily removed later on with chat or a call. It's better to avoid arguing and get the line set up first. I noted my T-Mobile account number from order confirmation page and used it. Absolutely no issues.

This may be the last time I would be doing it given the rumors of BYOD going away next month. Also will miss hotspot feature.

I had almost the same experience as Kastrga. This is my third activation (Google Pixel and Nexus 5x) and by far the easiest. I had all my phone data written out and ready to go. The hardest bit was getting numbers to port in. At first I was going to use Google Voice numbers per the wiki, but when I started down that path I was stopped because I am already using GV numbers and in order to get new ones to port it would have disrupted my GV account. So, I did the T-mo ebay virtual SIM deal. I was confused by the recent reports of problems, but I really didn't have any as I was careful to note that my T-mo prepaid account as I activated it was NOT my phone number. Sprint activation and credit check went well. I hope to be able to add my daughter's iphone 7 (it was a VM phone and passes the checker) in a couple of weeks when we see her.
Now I have our old LG G4 and G5 to port out next month , decommission and sell. They were good phones for us, but it is nice to have universal phones that work most anywhere.
